WAIT!!! Did we really just announce Studio Calme!?!? This has been a huge passion project for the last couple of years and we’re so excited that we get to share it with our family 💛 You all make this channel and our dreams happen!
Very nice! In terms of ideas for the blank wall, I always love a little reading nook of spot to sit and journal, so maybe a small round side table for coffee/tea and then a medium sized arm chair?!
This!! As soon as I saw that the fireplace was a part of the drawing space it seemed to be a perfect lounge spot/reading nook... Would be a great play area once your family grows 😊
Yes, I think a comfy chair would address the issue of the fp kind of floating on a wall all by itself. It's looking so good now, though, and a comfy chair would be just the thing, imho.
Love the fireplace! I think the bookshelf is nice, but I would do a moody wallpaper behind it to make the area feel cozier and give the space more warmth and texture 😁
Great! I like it! I would put a very comfy reading chair and a small side table in front of the fire-place. In my eyes that is the perfect place for it. Without the book case if necessary.
Love your fireplace makeover Tina!!! It's beautiful....your wall would look outstanding with floor to ceiling bookshelves and two chairs flanking the fireplace...would look to cozy and warm.
Tina everything you designed for your home makes it looks more beautiful along with your decor it's such a big difference between the past time and presently.such a amazing job everything looks awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏾💯
I had the idea to extend the mantle all the way to the wall on the left and do some matching wood tone shelves of varying lengths on the wall. A cozy chair near the fireplace might help fill in that left wall. Excited for the new project!
The fireplace turned out beautifully!!!! The bookshelf also seems perfect there on the blank wall!!! I am loving traveling along this journey with you as you make this house your home!!!!❤️
Awwww, thank you Ketarah!! 💛 I am really enjoying this journey as I begin to make even better improvements in each space! Thanks for following along 🥰💛
LOVEEEEE IT. We need another updated house tour soon with all these new updates. Also can’t wait to see what’s in store for studio calme ✨ my guess is digital downloadable art that you created to bring your calm and coziness to homes all over the world 🥰
I feel like I just did a house update, but now I wanna do another because so much has changed already! 🙈 Thanks for the love for Studio Calme, cannot wait to share more on it!! 💛
So smart to miter the edges on the mantle cover. Really does make it look like a thick slab of wood. The fireplace insert is perfect. For the blank wall, without seeing the rest of the room it's difficult to make a suggestion. Maybe a console table with a couple of ottomans tucked under?
Idea for the corner - I put a rocking chair, little table and lamp in an awkward pass-through in our house. I thought it would make the spot look cute but now I love sitting in it throughout the day and overlooking the rest of the living space.
The space looks so good!! I think the bookshelf looks fine. You could also put a bench with a cushion there with floating shelves (with the same wood stain as the mantle) above it.
Seeing as you love to read (I do too!), I think you could DIY beautiful wall to wall, floor to ceiling wooden bookshelves on that wall. A comfy reading chair in front of them & the fire, a rug, candles etc would make a cosy book nook x
I am legit in love with this result!!!! This looks so good!!! You've outdone yourself Tina! For the wall, I would put up shelving and make it into library-reading nook type of place
****Empty wall idea YOU build a( larger than normal ) blanket/throw ladder with shelving for books/decor on fireplace end & one on non-fireplace end for plants/decor... PERFECTION!
I am one of those people obsessed with symmetry and not seeing the fireplace in the center of the wall drives me crazy. The other half of me just thinks about how good it turned out. You are so talented!
That looks amazing! Great transformation. For that blank wall, instead of the bookshelf (although that does look good), I would put in a console table that was tall enough (but not too deep) to fit two stools underneath. When you have guests or a party, you could pull the stools out from the console table and there would be more seating in the living room.
The fireplace insert is fabulous. It really elevated the look. Recommend a wooden bookcase that would match with the gorgeous mantel better. Thanks and love your channel.
WOAH the fireplace cover looks so legit!! I was a bit skeptical when you were gluing the pieces on bc they didn't look quite like they were actually sitting on top of each other but it looks so real!! So smart to make the pieces thicker too
The grout made a huge difference! It looks so nice - I also think the book shelf fits there great! I'm excited to hear more about studio calme - just followed!
Tina, your creativity & talent are mind blowing! This transformation is absolutely amazing…every. single. bit. I wouldn’t change a thing about it. That bookcase fills that wall perfectly while the glass shelves still give an open feel. And I love how the arch of the mirror mimics the round top of the bookcase. And the mantel warms up the space. I love the screen and the grout detail. It’s all so cool!!!
I absolutely love the fireplace. You never cease to expose just how creative you are. Love love love it. As for the space in general, I like to bookcase here. Ideally I would want seating closer for the colder winter nights here in Chicagoland but it’s hard to gauge if there’s space and I can’t remember if you’ve told us if the fireplace works. Either way, everything looks great. Good job.
Yeah I think book shelf’s would great on that wall like a full wall .. the ikea bill bookshelves or studio McGee has a wood version of the shelf you put there that would also look good with a faux tree in the corner
Tina, there IA trick to keep your paint cans cleaner after pouring. Put holes in the recess around the top of the can with a hammer and large nail. The paint in that recess drains back into the can. Love your videos!!
Nicely done! Mitered corners really sell the look. Idk about your Ryobi circular saw(can't see detail in video), but several brands we've used , saw guide plates have an angle adjustment screw to do 45° cuts along with a ( removable) mini t square guide that ensures you stay on measurement. No table saw required! Love your work!😻
Tina, this is awesome!!! Love the whole look including the book case on the side wall. The mirror gives the illusion of seeing through the wall!!! Love it!!!!
Studio Caaaaalme! Sounds so relaxing! My guess is calming/peaceful home decor; handmade jewelry, clothing of sorts... LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! the fireplace! Amazing how just changing the mantle changed the entire look of the fireplace! The insert? Genius! And the over grout? YES! I thought you were going to completely cover over the stone, and I said Noooooo!! But, instead, you did this and it looks great! Adds such character and charm. While I love the arched shelf (I want one!), I think it makes the area look heavy and takes away from the fireplace. Maybe, as one commentor stated, a reading nook. But keep everything low, as not to complete with the fireplace vignette. As always! You hit it out of the park, Tina! Enjoy your day!
Tina, this is one of the best U have done, love how the fireplace turned out, call me granny but I would have a wooden rocking chair n a small round antique table next to the fire....just sit there read a book n have a cup of tea...can't wait what studio calme is having but I do knw am bring something of Ur beautiful style into my home💗💗💗super excitted!!!
I like your midcentury fireplace, but the overgrouted look is nice too. The thicker/lighter color mantle looks really nice. The styling looks nice too. I see a bookcase/reading nook there.
I laughed when you weren't sure where the switch to those lights we're because I know the feeling..only I didn't live in my house as long as you two🤣😂The arch shelf is gorgeous but I think it competes with the stunning mantel which should be the life of the party. Congratulations on "STUDIO CALM"!
I think the fireplace turned out really good! Especially the mantle! And I really like the arched mirror and how you styled it. 😊 Regarding Studio Calme, I think it’s an art studio where we get to purchase your awesome & creative art! Can’t wait to find out if I’m right. 😅
Great job!!!! What an improvement a little wood, stain and grout make!! Can't wait for Studio Calme! Hopefully we will be able to get some of your previous diy art projects!! I'm hoping for some of your creative wall art!!!
Love love love love this. That mantle and logs brought it completely to life! And that grout was just the icing on the cake!!!! Also super excited to see the website!!!! I can't even guess what it is but I'm positive I'm going to love it! Idk how big that spot is where the fireplace is but maybe two little chairs and table for reading and drinking tea by the fire would be nice!
LOVE 😍! And CONGRATS! 💜 Also you were wondering if the space needs anything else. Maybe a slim tree or decorative sticks (limbs, cane, bamboo, etc) in the corner? 🤔
Love it! Great how you used what you had on had for the fire ‘screen’. Is it a working fireplace? Don’t remember if you mentioned that. And I love that you poured paint right onto the board.
I love the fireplace! Your woodworking skills have gotten so amazing! What if you used ikea bookcases and made a diy built in moment? I do miss the old mirror though, the size and shape looked good.
Dang Tina! This is amazing. The fireplace insert turned out so nice, doesn’t look faux. The grout was the perfect addition. The shelf looks great but so would a chair and small table like a reading nook with some of your art above the chair. Whatever you end up with we all know it will be great! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Tina, you amaze me with how you execute your DIY projects. I love how the fireplace turned out. The new mantle piece looks great, love the stacked log insert you made too. You are so creative and I love watching your channel. Look forward to learning more about Studio Calme. 😁

Yes, I think a comfy chair would address the issue of the fp kind of floating on a wall all by itself. It's looking so good now, though, and a comfy chair would be just the thing, imho.
I completely agree! Either reading nook or 2 chairs and a small table to make it like a mini parlor or tea area

Looks great! I think the area screams cozy reading nook. Couple chairs, cozy blanket, floor lamp and small table for a drink.
I had the idea to extend the mantle all the way to the wall on the left and do some matching wood tone shelves of varying lengths on the wall. A cozy chair near the fireplace might help fill in that left wall.
Excited for the new project!

****Empty wall idea
YOU build a( larger than normal ) blanket/throw ladder with shelving for books/decor on fireplace end & one on non-fireplace end for plants/decor...
PERFECTION!
Or make it symmetrical...considering the fireplace is a non-working one, right? It cannot kill the plants. So, if it's symmetrical it WILL work!
I love it 😍 For the wall, I think a nice kind of library would look amazing there 🥰
The mantle and insert where the firewood was an excellent idea!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you, Nicole!! I can’t believe how real the insert looks 😍😍
The layout and mantle change were just right! Making the bouse more cozy.❤
I want to make a fireplace mantle too and I love the cap you built!!
Omg, you have to!! It’ll look so good in your place 😍😍
Turn it in to a cozy reading nook! A big oversized chair, a warm side table and a pretty little lamp.
A cozy built in chaise bench where your bookshelf is would look beautiful! Facing your bookshelf the chaise being on the left side.
The wood mantle looks so good. You did such a great Job x
Thank you so much!! I’m obsessed with it 😍
that's the best faux logs I've seen. looks very natural. love the mantle.
You could make it a cozy reading nook! I would add an armchair, bookcase. moody vibes... cozy ambiance next to the mantel
I am one of those people obsessed with symmetry and not seeing the fireplace in the center of the wall drives me crazy. The other half of me just thinks about how good it turned out. You are so talented!
Great job, Tina! The wood mantle makes it so much cozier and love the bookshelf along the wall. Can’t wait to see it all decorated next Christmas 😀
That looks amazing! Great transformation.

It’s so warm and cozy! I love the over grouting, and the mantle!!!
Tina that looks amazing!!! The fireplace and the bookshelf look awesome🎉❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦
I say yes to the bookcase next to the fireplace. It would be so cozy!
The grout made a huge difference! It looks so nice - I also think the book shelf fits there great! I'm excited to hear more about studio calme - just followed!

Thank you so much, Kelly!! 💛
Love the new fire place makeover, I think it should be a reading nook, bookcase and cosy armchair.❤
I would recommend doing "built-in look" bookcases to the left of the fireplace in the same wood tone as the mantel.
You absolutely nailed it!!!! Love it.
Something about your attitude to tackle this project INSPIRED me to go workout today. Thanks for the motivation and this DIY was a success
Fantastic glow up on the fireplace area
I absolutely love the fireplace. You never cease to expose just how creative you are. Love love love it. As for the space in general, I like to bookcase here. Your talent just never quits. I love it.
You are just too kind, Peggy! Thank you 💛
Wow, it looks fantastic, Tina! I love it!!!
Looks so much better! Amazing how the shelf height makes the proportions match so much better. Great work :D
That looks really really good!! You got it just right!
Wow everything looks stunning 💖 Don't change anything.
Looks so good! That mirror is perfect. Glueing the bark on gave me a great morning giggle!! Love your channel Tina 😊
Thank you so much, Margot! 💛
Wow, what an update on that fireplace❤☺️! Fab job, looking forward to seeing Studio calm come to life!💃🏻
Wow ! The fireplace looks beautiful it really brightens the area ! Love it !
Thank you so much!! 🥰🥰
Yeah I think book shelf’s would great on that wall like a full wall .. the ikea bill bookshelves or studio McGee has a wood version of the shelf you put there that would also look good with a faux tree in the corner
Yesss! I was thinking of adding more wood accents along that wall too! 😍
The mantle came out great. Such a clever idea to thicken it!
Soooo much better than before. I like the bookshelf as well. Maybe add a reading chair if there is room?
Omgggg this is beyond beautiful!! The log wood cover is sickkk! You killed it!!👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼
Tina, there IA trick to keep your paint cans cleaner after pouring. Put holes in the recess around the top of the can with a hammer and large nail. The paint in that recess drains back into the can. Love your videos!!
A reading nook would be amazing next to the fire place
Oooh, long floating shelves off set with identical cut and color of mantle and a reading chair would be my dream.
The fireplace looks great. I also like the shelving unit there as well. Great job!!
Nicely done! Mitered corners really sell the look. Definitely feels like the rest of the house. So beautiful, warm and cozy, yet elegant!

The fireplace turned out amazing and everything looks so nice, a little E 6000 glue along with the hot glue would have helped a lot. 🙏🏾🥰💖💯💫
I like your midcentury fireplace, but the overgrouted look is nice too. The thicker/lighter color mantle looks really nice. The styling looks nice too. I see a bookcase/reading nook there.
That looks amazing! Great job!!
Love if you put a tall plant on the left of the fireplace to add more calming effect. But overall it was a great idea to put a wood mantle and grout
This looks incredible! also, I can't wait to hear more about Studio Calme!!!
Ahhhh, thank you Heather!! I’ve dreamt of doing something like this for years and I can’t believe it’s finally happening 😭💛

I so ❤️ your new look!

Awesome Tina! That’s the very best faux log insert I’ve seen 👍😃
great vision - great execution - GREAT JOB!! 💝

What was good became wonderful! You are amazing Tina!!!💗✨
This corner looks so much better and cozy! 😍😍

Will 100% be recreating this with my fireplace. Thank you always for the fantastic DIYs ❤
W.O.W. you definitely achieved the wow factor. It is is gorgeous.
Thank you so much, Linda!! 💛
Love it! Great how you used what you had on had for the fire ‘screen’. Is it a working fireplace? Don’t remember if you mentioned that. And I love that you poured paint right onto the board.
Looks so clean and beautiful
Wow! 🤩 This video gave me so much inspiration for my fireplace in my apartment 😃🙏🏼
It’s amazing what you can do with the right few tools!
I love that arched shelf! I think the fireplace looks great! So awesome 💕
I love the fireplace! Your woodworking skills have gotten so amazing! What if you used ikea bookcases and made a diy built in moment? I do miss the old mirror though, the size and shape looked good.
Beautiful work! It looks amazing, I absolutely love How the over grouting turned out!!!
Dang Tina! This is amazing. The fireplace insert turned out so nice, doesn’t look faux. The grout was the perfect addition.
