OOOH, I am drooling! I have always been drawn to Buicks since I was a young teenager and saw a 53 Skylark. That model and year is still my favorite car ever. The green convertible is very nice and it drew me in for a look. I would like to go cruzing in that car. In December of 1966, just before I was to go into Army basic training, I took delivery of a 1967 GS400/four speed that I had special ordered. The color was darker blue than the hardtop car next to the convertible, and my car also had the black vinyl top. Wow, this takes me back to when I was 20 years old. Yea, that "Star Wars" air cleaner is just cool! Thank you so much Lou, you made my day!

Not a big convertible fan but love this.
Once again, 500's to the body color of green. I love it ! Brings a guitar to mind,,,,
GF's older brother in '72 had a Guild StarFire I in green. A semi single cut. I loved it as a kid of 15. Jerry Garcia used one in the early days of the Grateful Dead.
RI'd now. Last thing i need is another guitar but at under $500, i look at it more than i should.
Car, nope ;). No RI here :)

I’m a big fan of Buicks of this era Glen and of the colour green. Sure that metallic Hot Wheels cars with Redlines that l lusted over as a child had a lot to do with it as well. And of course electric guitars. My ‘82 AR 305 has the bling AND the power to go with it :). And l absolutely loved the metallic green 1970 Chrysler VIP that l had in my early 20s - my brother had a matching ‘69…

I’ve said it before but my dad bought my mom a 67 Buick Wildcat convertible in 1971. The car was like riding in a cloud. Dad begrudgingly sold it in 73 to buy her a Datsun (which he hated) to save on gas. Dad liked the big block Chrysler’s and Chevy’s with the power and torque they produced.

Buick was a styling powerhouse in the 60’s and early 70’s. And in ‘67, they finally had a V-8 worthy of their styling. This new-for-‘67 engine series replaced and was a far better engine than the outgoing nailhead.
I had a ‘70 Olds Cutlass convertible, which was my second favorite convertible that year. The Skylark was my favorite …

Non functional in 1967. I had a hardtop one of these about 30 yrs ago. Bought it from a local newspaper ad for $400!!! A teenage boy had been given the car by his granddad and he had hit the same telephone pole near their house twice on the drivers side rear quarter panel while trying to show off to his friends. The parents just wanted rid of it before he hurt himself. Their loss was my gain! I located a new quarter panel in a local salvage yard and had my bodyshop buddy put it on the car and color match it to the original burgundy paint that was still on the car and only needed to be buffed out to look new again. He also replaced the black vinyl top.
The only other things I did to the car were to put on a new set of redline tires and give it a fresh tune up. The car was an absolute gem and I even found the original window sticker in the glove box! I drove it a few months before selling it to a guy who was collecting older buicks. It sold back then for $6000 which was quite a decent profit for me but I wish now I still had it.

Clockwork, that’s a good question, because it also seques to the next question: why the hell would Buick stick that fancy air cleaner cover on top if it was only for appearances?
In ‘69, Buick did equip these cars with an actual functioning cold-air induction system that externally looked much like these glue-on ducts on this ‘67.
And let’s not even start with an explanation as to why the best use of hood mounted ducts is to EXHAUST under-hood air.

My dad had to go out and buy an F-85 Olds, instead of a Buick intermediate. I never liked the car and now wish he had gone for the Buick. They did a great job styling it (I thought, GM's other 3 intermediates were cheap-looking and not very attractive). Especially, curving the dash that way and offering that stylish steering wheel. Maybe, if the standard engine wasn't the V-6, dad might even have bought the Buick version (his F-85 had the smooth-running Chevrolet 250 six-banger)

I still prefer the looks of the '66, but fortunately for '67 a much, much better 3-speed auto was available. Beautiful car--what happened to green cars? My '72 GS convertible was green...
