The song answers the question. Other countries have songs about how their team is the best and is sure to triumph. We have Three Lions: A song about remaining loyal to your team and never letting hope die no matter how many times you see victory escape their grasp - because maybe, maybe, this is the year they'll actually win. A song about how important it is to always cheer for the team, always keep the dream alive, even though the last time England won a world cup you could buy a ticket in the cheap seats for ten shillings.

Spain pushed and shoved the whole time. That's wrestling and it's a different sport. I'd like to see them try winning without doing any of that. Same for Italy's win against England in 2021. They could only stop the English players by pulling and pushing (and I'm Italian). So let's be real. England didn't play as well as they could have throughout this tournament but they played well in the final.
The definition of "It's coming home" will need to change completely for that to happen. Maybe cricket titles or tea cup wins should start being counted towards the "achievement" 🤷♂️

It’ll never ‘come home’ since the World Cup of the 1960’s. In that age, Britain was a Christian country & God & Christ’s teachings were observed in society, including an acceptable moral standard. As such, God was pleased to bless the country. Today, 60 years on, we have gay ‘marriage’ single parent families from the 1980’s when young girls went out carte Blanche to participate in sex outside of marriage, abortion, massive drug abuse, the influx of immigrants whose belief system runs counter to our own, footballers being paid ludicrous salaries that they do not earn, footballers buying high end performance cars & crashing them, footballers having WAG’s instead of providing young men especially with a moral code of marriage to one woman, & a national team made up of non indigenous players. And we wonder why God Who is Sovereign over all, won’t allow the UK to win at any major tournament. This country needs a spiritual repentance on a mass scale, & a return to Almighty God & observance of His Name in the family & in society.
Until that happens, the UK will never excel in any arena.
Reasons why football is NEVER coming home. In countries like Spain, Brazil, Argentina etc kids spend their entire childhood playing football. In England about 30% of kids identify as non binary or transgender and the rest spend all their bloody time on fortnight, COD and Tik tok!! We have no chance! 😂
