Ignore the "twist" instructions - looks like this one fills by just pulling the plunger. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it. Don't worry too much about getting some water in the cartridge, or bacteria in the ink. I mean, I wouldn't stick your finger in it or anything, but it's not super big deal. When filling up ink, you need to get the nib down into the ink far enough - it's ok to get some ink on "collar". Just wipe it off! There's also going to be a little bit of air, that's ok too. Just turn the pen right side up, tap it a bit and then push the plunger up slowly to remove the air. Then turn the pen upside down, put it back into the ink bottle and fill up the rest. 😂😂😂I am laughing so hard WITH you!!!! I just filled my pen this morning & got ink all over my fingers!!! I had already figured out that their instructions were bogus!!!!! So, being a nurse, I was ready to use the plunger syringe method!!! It took me a second to just dip the pen far enough in to pull up the ink.🖋️. My prior experience with fountain pens was 60 years ago & we used disposable ink cartridges. 😆🤪🩷
l like to use a blunt needle syringe to fill my converters and cartridges. It's a lot easier and a lot less messy. Sometimes the feed filler is really dip in the ink. Hope you love it! That new Blue notebook with the raw edges is everything! Lighting looks fine to me!!
This sub box was made for you! I can totally see you making spreads with those washi tapes. Those notebooks are gorgeous! You are so brave to attempt to fill the fountain pen. I would think you would fill the ink like a syringe but I suppose not according to the instructions they gave. As for the lighting, I recall commenting on how nice and clear your lighting is. You can really see the true colors.
VERY lux books. The soft cover field notebook would make an amazing memory book. I have books that were my mom’s when she was young. Several,of them have rough edges because they were handmade, and the edges are still rough after all these years. I used to love reading them when I was young. Maybe they were going for a handmade paper look.
that scalloped ruler?, look at the numbering. Place it both upright and sideways in a dot grid notebook, I think the numbers help you measure/count your dot grid lines? If you are drawing patterns in your journals, calendars, boxes, you get the sizing/spacing with that ruler (it's not a normal ruler) hope I am making sense. That velvety book, rough edge paper, that is deliberate, not a mistake.
