The jumping around isn’t needed when it comes to dodging a runner. You only need to circle around them. You also don’t need your camera focused on them the whole time while circling around them either, but I guess that’s a good thing to do if you’re less experienced. Another thing that people don’t point out is that you can audibly hear when a runner spawns. Their growl is a lot more aggressive and they also have quick footsteps that you can hear from a mile away (if you’re volume is high enough) which can help you if they’re basically camouflaged into the horde. You can also strafe from left or right when dealing with a zapper, which is helpful if you’re waaay too close to a zapper and you can’t back out fast enough.
I'd like to say that I wasn't focused on them the entire time for the point of it but to show the viewer. At the same time, it's just better to sword it instead of dodge it for that long.
@@tyuld you don’t need to headshot a runner. But yeah jumping to hit headshot is really helpful. Sadly I’m really bad at doing it on mobile, which is why I hope that I can fix my pc cuz that’s where I am best at playing this game.

Down arrow swing is the FASTEST when preparing and swinging, making it better to clear hordes! 3. If you know you’re gonna get grabbed, swing at the moment you are going to get grabbed, it will damage the Shambler/Runner (Killing the Runner) and prevent you from being locked. 4. If you’re doing a recovery animation, you’re immune to damage. Make sure to prepare to run away if you’re getting swarmed! Jump! 5. If you’re a Bugler, call your bugle as soon as you can during hordes. That sweet sweet 100% extra damage can be life or death. Officer is situational. If you know you’re gonna get overrun, call a charge and book it while killing as many zombies as possible. 6. DONT BACK YOURSELF INTO A CORNER! 7. Target Runners. If you have time, take out surrounding zombies. 8. Walking into a Zapper’s range and then backing out while jumping will garuntee a dodge. Remember, Zappers charge swings and go forwards when swinging. They can also do really quick turns while swinging. 9. If you need some breathing room, you can always get into an area where the zombies will swarm, but you know you can get out. And finally… 10. Keep yourself in open space. Enclosed areas are terrible for maneuvering. Maneuvering can help with Runner dodging, Zapper dodging, getting away from Bombers or fire, and can help you circle your horde!

Honestly, this is a really good tutorial! I do actually use this strategy in game and.. I didn't even know that it was a real thing until I saw this video!.. Hah.. Anyways I'd like to add onto this.. NORMAL SABRES Yes, Forward stabbing or Stabbing (Directional swing downwards) is in fact one of the most viable methods to deal with hordes. It's important to keep in mind of what sabre you're using! Normal sabres and Officer sabres deal their highest damage with the Swinging downwards (Directional swing upwards), but that's if you at least successfully hit the head. If you're not into that type, it's most likely best to do one of the side-swings since they deal such good crowd control and have good damage to deal with an area of enemies. OFFICER SABRES If you're going to use the class "Officer". It's really important to keep in mind and remember to use the charge function of it. Yes it does remove the directional slashes but It is enough to greatly increase your DPS in scary situations! As an officer, it is BEST not to go for one of the slashes related to velocity (Upwards or Downwards slashes/Stabbing or downward swing) since this will minimise your charge meter being filled up. I strongly suggest the Right > left swing (Directional swing West or Left) since it has the best AOE output and can be a lifesaver for those who aren't good at navigating their own cameras. For Shamblers on a bigger map though, Any choice is fine by you, but it's better to stab (Directional swing downwards) due to the much bigger room and higher chance of runners being a problem, as well as the zombies not being bunched up because of less choke points.. HEAVY SABRES These things are absolute menaces (I use them myself). At first, when you buy The Heavy Sabre, you'd most likely die A LOT MORE! This is because of the extended time to swing and slower recharge. Ignoring all of this, The best way to use this is to either do a Left > Right swing (Higher chance of 1 shotting to the head depending on the terrain then others) and Stabbing (Much lessened recharge rate, Damage of a normal Left > Right swing from a NORMAL sabre, and can still deal AOE when flicked) METHODS Normal sabres are best to be priorities on survival, in which swinging from right > left and/or at the head from top > bottom is viable to eliminate huge groups of Shamblers and hard counter Zappers. Personally, I think that this isn't something I think you should follow since well.. It's more of depending on your strengths and style. Heavy sabres are best used ONLY if you know how to do something that I call: AOE Stacking. This is the action in which the user does any move and flicks their camera to the opposite direction to the direction the sabre is positioned or being swung from. This is best done with stabbing and moving the camera from right > left repeatedly with some jumping to heighten the chance of hitting the Head. Though, if you're going for more chill gameplay, just time your jumps whilst using the Left > Right swing. I'm sorry if this is confusing but this is all depending on my long experience on the game and please remember this is my personal preference!😅 -EDIT- I do also do a bit of interlocking to deal with huge hordes with like 20+ zombies in 1 area which hugely helps.. though, my method... It's not recommended for beginners, veterans, or short time pros. More of aim at the hardcore players out there! I could make a video about it if you want about my channel.
If you have a large enough area to run circles around a horde and can single out runners, you can survive any amount of any zombie horde if you can swing and step back
Personally, i actually like heavy saber if you lock the arrow down way. If you jump while attacking it can actually headshot a shambler/zapper and potentially one shot them. Heavy saber also does more damage+ (if your a sweaty gamer) you can rotate your camera while attacking to attack multiple zombies while still holding the direction lock.
for objective best way to clutch is by using the sabre resistance and also trying to not kill a lot of zombie if not needed since there’s a spawn limit and spawn limit is lower depending on how many people is alive
I once had a guy Solo the Endgame in the Artic Map where he bundled up the Zombies and burned the Timer through baiting them around the town and then he completely survived all of that and went to the docks when the ship arrived... Then he slips into the crack between the dock and the ship and dies I have never seen such skill and such a fumble ever since
when it comes to runners, i play it really risky. i normally jump on their head if timed right so i can get past them. this is espicially useful on the map berezina because if you're holding a log, you can jump over the runner's head to not only not drop the log but also get past a runner. with the except of getting tackled right after you do so if the runner isn't dead
I heavily recommend using the new Heavy Sabre coz of the good stab dmg and longer range compared to the normal sabre, it can kill shamblers in 1 or 2 headshots. I used it to clutch half of kaub when my stoobid teammates keep dying
3:45 not necessarily true any objective can still be solo'd each map just adds in different factors that you have to keep in mind. Leipzig for example has a pretty big area you can move around in to avoid hordes at each area aswell here's a list of what you have to keep in mind at each objective. 1. Destroying the door with runners behind it. This 1 is in my opinion the hardest for people who haven't practised dealing with many runners before. Luckily there are cannons behind you but you have to be fast because zombies will spawn from where you spawned earlier. So load 1 cannon, not 2 because you most likely won't have enough time to aim and shoot while the runners are coming at you. Make sure to use cannister because you will have to hit multiple runners to get to the next objective. Once you succesfully hit a horde of runners that ran at you in a straight line you can deal with the remaining by jumping and sideswinging (make sure that you either circle around the runners or make them circle around you). 2. Pushing the cart and putting rubble on fire. This is the second hardest part in my opinion because even though there is space to move you have to keep an eye on 2 places zombies come from. Lit a torch on fire and push the cart to the rubble. Then as the zombies spawn move through the building that is next to the bonfire when there's a horde on you and move back toward the rubble to lit it on fire, and then back to the bonfire, do this about 12 times to get to the next objective (You can alternatively move to the building you came from at the previous objective but it's going to take long to get back up so just going in a triangle from bonfire, to building to rubble is faster imo) 3. Pushing the cart to the gate. This is a lot easier than the previous objective but it also takes longer. To do this objective pre-lit your torch so you don't have to walk all the way back to the bonfire when you finally pushed your cart to the gate. When the objective starts push the cart till the wheel rolled around 2-3 times bit by bit and then make sure you have a horde in a straight line behind you, once you have a horde behind you go to the end of the road where the zombies spawn at those wooden fences and walk right next to it in half a circle so the zombies move the same way you do and then back towards the cart to push it again, also you don't have to hit the horde behind you because at that objective they will stop spawning about 3 to 6 minutes after the objective starts. You can of course kill them when they stop spawning to make pushing the cart easier but I would just push the cart bit by bit to the gate and then blow it up. 4. Ringing the bell and holding the zombies off till the exit gate is blown up. The easiest part imo because you have a giant area to move around in, you only have to watch out for runners that spawn around you. Like the other objectives make sure the zombies follow behind you. Do this for about 4 minutes until the gate blows up. When the gate blows up you have about 30-50 seconds until the song ends so head to the exit when the song starts. 5. Just make sure you get to the other side of the bridge before the song ends.
I don't believe Kaub and san sebastian are impossible to solo because of their end objectives. With San Sebastian you could bait some zombies off the roof at the end and use their heads to avoid fall damage when you jump down doing it next to the wall by the elevator is a lot less risky but you also have to act quickly since hordes will be coming for you fast. I believe Kaub is also not impossible to do by yourself because you can use staircase ledges to walk on to avoid shambler graps, it's just very difficult imo to kill runners while balancing yourself on the staircase ledges. But it is not impossible, I refuse to believe that it is because it breeds excuses.
And yes doing it with sapper does increase your chances but I was talking about every class in these examples, even chaplain is possible but exponentially more difficult because of runners and you will require the skill to dodge/defend yourself against runners.
Also a tip for sapper soloing: Those little spiky balls are very fast to place, and the slowed down horde can easily be picked away at. It also provides better protection against runners. Just keep placing some when you have a bit of space between you and the horde. Also: shove. Shove can slow down a few of the zombies, letting you get some more space.
@@Kira_Sillyalso you can use shove on runners, as soon as theyre about to bow their head and tackles, unleash the shove, they will ran into it and get stunned Because of this, i need my teamate less
Pro tip: don’t feel overwhelmed. The more anxious you are about dying, the more you panic. The zombies are really not that hard to take care of if you think about it
I tried that but there is a delay to jumping meaning overall you are probably slowing down in the amount of zombies you kill, at the same time risking yourself much more when doing that.
headshot runner is almost an impossible task not to mention that stake hitbox is extremely small(im waiting for a new weapon like metal stake or a silver dagger)
i stand near 5 guy and died to a horde with no one helping, guess i have teammate issue :/ also sometime the zombie can’t pathfind you so it keep standing at their spawn until they can pathfind to you, i died once because i thought i get rid of all runners in wave 11 just to get grabbed by one
Very good video. I hope more tutorial stuff can be covered and that people subscribe to your channel for more stuff too! People should support G&B channels more
useless fact: in the older version of the game, when endless mode Hougomont was the only map, runner could not tackle players but they could only attack players and deal minimal dmg. the most dangerous enemy was the bomber.
@@Melanryo Speaking of bombers, one time, I was the only sapper on La Haye Sainte, and I was building barricades in the house where everyone else was, and a runner grabbed me while I was ahead of the barricades, instead of killing the runner, a stupid officer shot a nearby bomber instead of the runner on me, which killed me (We lost the game because of him)
This is a very nice tutorial and all but it is unfortunate that I can only run at 15 fps at best and my ping is in the 200s. Thanks to these two limitations this is what happens: 1. it makes runners look like jump scares 2. it makes my walking speed slower than everyone including the runners 3. I literally have to predict 2 seconds when and where I should strike 4. I'm usually the first one to die since I'm left behind.
@@Melanryothey are saying that you don’t need to move and flick your camera for one shambler, as it is just a single hitbox, you gotta flick during a crowd so it is more effective in dmg and etc.
While i don't agree with everything in this video, its a pretty good video for covering the basics that are needed to be effective at really just the game in general.
the specific name for this type of clutch is called "kiting" by some pro players 🗣🔥🔥 when a runner 🏃 is in the horde you have to listen 🤫🧏♂ and lock in to know when to hit the red eye(s) (they have a more aggressive growling), zappers 🥶 can be spotted 🔎 if you look 👀 at the goofy hats 💂 that are slow ⚓ within the horde, (✨special!!! 🤫🤫✨) shamblers can have their grabbing move ✋ be disabled by hitting them (s) for a small amount of time ⏲ (this theoretically allows you to walk inside of a horde if you hit all the zombies in every direction☝🤓), bombers... 💣 just walk next to them or shoot them idk 🛌, torch.. lantern zombie guh ❓ walk out of their flames 🚶🔥🔥 (made this cuz i'm bored) 💤💤
The heavy saber is not as recommended because of its slower swing speed. The side-swing also deals less damage with it. Yes you should use a combination of top and bottom swings. The top is good due to its one hit to the head and you should aim for the head, it provides good distance but the swing speed is even slower and makes you a prime target for runners which is why you should use down swings for runners. So in all, the downside is that you're more likely to lose to runners and in tight spaces, but the upside is better range and damage.

If you're not into that type, it's most likely best to do one of the side-swings since they deal such good crowd control and have good damage to deal with an area of enemies.
OFFICER SABRES
If you're going to use the class "Officer".
HEAVY SABRES
These things are absolute menaces (I use them myself). At first, when you buy The Heavy Sabre, you'd most likely die A LOT MORE! This is because of the extended time to swing and slower recharge. Ignoring all of this, The best way to use this is to either do a Left > Right swing (Higher chance of 1 shotting to the head depending on the terrain then others) and Stabbing (Much lessened recharge rate, Damage of a normal Left > Right swing from a NORMAL sabre, and can still deal AOE when flicked)
METHODS
Normal sabres are best to be priorities on survival, in which swinging from right > left and/or at the head from top > bottom is viable to eliminate huge groups of Shamblers and hard counter Zappers.
I'm sorry if this is confusing but this is all depending on my long experience on the game and please remember this is my personal preference!😅
-EDIT-
I do also do a bit of interlocking to deal with huge hordes with like 20+ zombies in 1 area which hugely helps.. though, my method... It's not recommended for beginners, veterans, or short time pros. More of aim at the hardcore players out there! I could make a video about it if you want about my channel.
I just did alone at the end of the world first try with no prior experience lmao imagine needing a video!!
This is the first Tutorial on Clutching so Thank u I somehow improved alot ob killing runners.
For anyone wondering the music is Franky Theme from One Piece
Can I use an heavy sabre and horse artillery pistol
In my opinion, from the AI of these Hostile NPCs, we can trick their pathways also.
How so
Tell us
If you have a large enough area to run circles around a horde and can single out runners, you can survive any amount of any zombie horde if you can swing and step back
Personally, i actually like heavy saber if you lock the arrow down way. If you jump while attacking it can actually headshot a shambler/zapper and potentially one shot them. Heavy saber also does more damage+ (if your a sweaty gamer) you can rotate your camera while attacking to attack multiple zombies while still holding the direction lock.
I'm gonna revamp this video, I missed a lot of good points and I'm better at this game now.
2:12 mans playin with the runner like its a toy 😂
runners are such a pain with an even somewhat laggy connection
My wifi:The runner is there
Oh i got this right?
My wifi: you dont know it but you are already dead
What-
for objective best way to clutch is by using the sabre resistance and also trying to not kill a lot of zombie if not needed since there’s a spawn limit and spawn limit is lower depending on how many people is alive
I see.
I once had a guy Solo the Endgame in the Artic Map where he bundled up the Zombies and burned the Timer through baiting them around the town and then he completely survived all of that and went to the docks when the ship arrived...
Then he slips into the crack between the dock and the ship and dies
I have never seen such skill and such a fumble ever since
LMAO
I've had several moments where a runner gets right up to me, I swing my sword, it doesn't kill the runner then I get tackled. most annoying thing
Fun fact: zombies have spawn limits, especially in the finale, so they wont just endlessly spawn
Soooo did you just played San with your teammates for over than 10 on the Barry’s part without sacrificing yourself?
This video has help me improve my skills I solo Lep for the first time thanks :) keep up the good work new subscriber too!
Awesome! Thank you!
@@Melanryo your welcome and thanks for the tip for solo :) I’ll be uploading a vid of me doing it on mobile now
Wtf I never knew what direction lock was until now- I am so totally gonna use it from now on.
when it comes to runners, i play it really risky. i normally jump on their head if timed right so i can get past them. this is espicially useful on the map berezina because if you're holding a log, you can jump over the runner's head to not only not drop the log but also get past a runner. with the except of getting tackled right after you do so if the runner isn't dead
I heavily recommend using the new Heavy Sabre coz of the good stab dmg and longer range compared to the normal sabre, it can kill shamblers in 1 or 2 headshots.
I used it to clutch half of kaub when my stoobid teammates keep dying
the 2 best things to deal with runners is AWARENESS AND TIMING. You can pay close attention to solo videos for examples 😊😊
This just popped up in my recommendation🗿🗿
:moyai:
Well then, time to be the saviour of a team filled with NPC's.
Being the last person and somehow clutching it for everyone so they can respawn is the best feeling ever
Then as the zombies spawn move through the building that is next to the bonfire when there's a horde on you and move back toward the rubble to lit it on fire, and then back to the bonfire, do this about 12 times to get to the next objective (You can alternatively move to the building you came from at the previous objective but it's going to take long to get back up so just going in a triangle from bonfire, to building to rubble is faster imo)
That's, a lot of comments. Also I'm going to re-make this video with a lot more.

Pro tip: don’t feel overwhelmed. The more anxious you are about dying, the more you panic. The zombies are really not that hard to take care of if you think about it
True, I have a problem with that
tip: jump before swinging underhanded and if you nail the swing right you can headshot zombies so you can instakill shamblers and as chaplain runners
I tried that but there is a delay to jumping meaning overall you are probably slowing down in the amount of zombies you kill, at the same time risking yourself much more when doing that.
@@Melanryo maybe you can sneak in a side swing during the delay?

useless fact: in the older version of the game, when endless mode Hougomont was the only map, runner could not tackle players but they could only attack players and deal minimal dmg. the most dangerous enemy was the bomber.
The most dangerous enemy in public servers with other random players is still the bombers because of other players

Thanks to these two limitations this is what happens:
1. it makes runners look like jump scares
2. it makes my walking speed slower than everyone including the runners
3. I literally have to predict 2 seconds when and where I should strike
4. I'm usually the first one to die since I'm left behind.
I'm a suregon main and I am still fairly new to the game and I have learned how to do a few things except get my swing to change when I want it to.
This flicking thing giving me a headache you can just walk in a circle
Moving your camera wont change the vertical hitbox if youre in third person so no need to move your camera against a single shambler
Are you referring to the headshot thing?
@@Melanryothey are saying that you don’t need to move and flick your camera for one shambler, as it is just a single hitbox, you gotta flick during a crowd so it is more effective in dmg and etc.

does the heavy saber work with this strat also with the heavy saber should I lock the direction at the top?
The heavy saber is not as recommended because of its slower swing speed. The side-swing also deals less damage with it. Yes you should use a combination of top and bottom swings. The top is good due to its one hit to the head and you should aim for the head, it provides good distance but the swing speed is even slower and makes you a prime target for runners which is why you should use down swings for runners. So in all, the downside is that you're more likely to lose to runners and in tight spaces, but the upside is better range and damage.
