You keep on talking about "calories in vs calories out" to justify your eating. But what about levels of sugar and sodium? High sugar levels can give you diabetes and sodium can give you high blood pressure. It isn't just about weight you know.

they do intermittent fasting and weight train. Doing those will not spike either level because fat is not being stored. As long as they eat two meals containing protein, healthy fats, carbs, that are not over their total caloric intake for their height & weight for the day, they're good.
if you're concerned about diabetes, eat something with cinnamon or celery. For high blood, eat something with garlic. Learned that in a physiology class.

If you are on a calorie deficit it's virtually impossible to get a days worth of calories with the amount of protein these two need AND have a surplus of sugar at the same time, it will be one or the other. The sodium, look at what they are eating and tell me where the excess of sodium is. What these two need to be worrying about is the quality of their protein, and their sh!tty math when it comes to macro counting.
