Can you turn it from the top to get the height that you want? For example I want to grow it in front of my ugly fence line so it needs to be trimmed at 6 feet
I would like to plant this variety of grass seedlings in Bangladesh. Can I get your help to get seeds of this variety of grass? Help me out a little if you can.
@@robinlanter4287 Grasses are not a good choice for arizona. If you are after a hedge why not go for prickly pear? It takes longer to establish but it's easy enough to come by in your area and provides a useful product without the water requirements of grasses.
It spreads by rhizome, it's a hybrid that's both pollen sterile and seed sterile. It doesn't have the power to punch up through obstacles like bamboo does but it can be aggressive. The stalks remain fairly fine though so it can be controlled with a lawnmower. If it's kept short it or grown in the deep shade of a cover crop it will not thrive and will eventually peter out.
Cutting it will irritate and cut the crap out of you. The seed heads of all the miscanthus have gotta be the most flammable thing in nature its an excellent natural fire starter when it turns brown in winter.

Hi, I believe it is sterile - you can only propagate it by getting hold of the rhizomes. There are other similar species of Miscanthus which seed, and that might not be a good thing in a garden!!
Actually it is respect for my neighbors and my use of our hot tub....”good fences make good neighbors.” Has nothing to do with hate...why would YOU think of hate??
Why are you playing ridiculously annoying music while narrating a video? RUclipsrs are so unprofessional and lack attention to detail. Why play music to compete with your narration? Wtf?
Can we get an update ?
It will actually take a couple years to get full mature height, mine are a year old and about 6ft tall
Yes. Mine are a couple years old and now over 9 ft
Usually in the first growing season they will reach around 7 feet.
Do you have pics of this grass in 2020?
Does this die down in winter? I need something for privacy but all year long.
Will this spread by air? I'm looking to grow this as a sort of fence - and encase my crops from sight
Do you have an updated video?

Yes it’s no problem to keep it trimmed to whatever height you desire.
Does it spread or stay in one spot? do you know if cattle eat it?
They spread to a 3ft by 3ft area through roots, but do not seed spread
Thanks for sharing
OMG😍. Would this grow in New Brunswick Canada?
What zones can they grow in?
I'm in 5b and have had no issues. They are over 9 ft tall than (update video coming up) I believe they even take the cold from zone 4
@@EdenGreenFarmandAdventures Then they probably won't like my zone. I'm in zone 9b Arizona.
@@robinlanter4287 This grass is extremely drought tolerant once established.

Non invasive I guess

Will it grow in the shade. I live in Pennsylvania
It will tolerate some shade but it really needs full sun
It needs half a day of sun or more. I sell Miscanthus giganteus.
Running through that is like running through long bendable razor blades. BE CAREFUL!
Maybe you are thinking about pampas grass?
Update view?
