Actually, never mind... Doesn't really matter... If I have to remove the cushions to collapse this, then it's a no-go... the whole point is to be able to take my mom out and get the wheelchair in and out of the back of the car easily.
We do have other chairs that may work for you instead of this one. Give us a call and we can ask some questions to narrow down the best chair for your mother and her needs. To answer your other question, it only beeps when the joystick power is turned on and the motors in freewheel mode. It also gives more resistance when the joystick is turned on since the motors have electricity going to them from the batteries so turn the joystick off and it will push easier.
I am wondering if chairs with these smaller front wheels have trouble crossing the threshold of some elevators? My manual chair gets stuck if the gap is too large and I have to back in. Do I need to get one with larger front wheels?
I have not heard any issues from customers having this issue. Your manual chair probably has around 4"-5" front casters. The caster wheels on the lightweight foldable models at 7" at the smallest. Most of them being 8". Hope this helps answer your question.
Give us a call so we can ask you some questions to make sure we get everything you are looking for and need in a chair and we can go through our chairs and see what we have to suit your needs. 800-677-6293.

Sorry, when you use freewheel - like if I need to push my mother, it won't ALWAYS beep, only if you have the batteries still on, right?
