    I love my 2020 Compass Trailhawk. I threw on a set of 215/65R17 all terrain Falken Wildpeak AT3 (severe snow rated) and a 10mm spacer on the back wheels to space them even with the front. Great little daily driver. Fully loaded and comfortable. Rain, highway, snow, back roads, camping. No issues.

      I recently purchased the 2020 Compass in Febuary. My wife got me the Falken Wildpeak off road tires as a birthday gift. Plan on doing some light off roading with it when we go camping in Buena Vista, Colorado. I must say that I am very happy with it. Though I must say that I can't compare it with her 2011 Jeep Wrangler Oscar Mike edition, it has been good to me in the snow.

    I feel like this vehicle doesn’t get enough credit. The Compass Trailhawk is very capable for what it is. It seems like some of this vehicles harshest critics are secretly comparing it to a Wrangler which isn’t fair. Great video, you helped capture some of its best features!

      My compass 2016 sport is just about to retire. I've been thinking of selling it for sometime I got t boned friday the sport isnt good on my hobby farm. I hslad to pull out the tractor a couple times to recover it from mud. I've been eyeing the trailhawk. Thanks gor the video

    I wish everyone would stop hating on the compass because I guarantee most people commenting "ItS nOt A rEaL jEeP" have never driven one before, sure it doesn't have a locking diff or the flex you get on a wrangler but mine has made it through everything I've put it through which includes deep mud and rocky, steep hills. It is a very comfortable vehicle that you can drive on a daily basis but also won't back down from a challenge. If you can get a good enough deal I would recommend purchasing one.

      How does it perform on road?

    • @Oliver-cj5uo
      @Oliver-cj5uo 5 лет назад +3

      Jj P I would give it 7/10 for how it performs on road. It’s good as gas and has a very comfortable interior which makes it good for long rides and it sits up pretty high so you get a good view of the road. The only issues is the amount of power and the road noise it has plenty of power for merging and passing but sometimes it feels like it’s gonna break if you push it too hard and it’s not the quietest car on the highway but it’s not bad as long as you don’t put big tires on it.

      @@Oliver-cj5uo I'm looking at getting one. They have good prices on these and good features for around 25k I kinda feel like it's cheap because they r really kinda of cheap at least the altitude model is.

      @Oliver-cj5uo 5 лет назад +3

      Jesse Valdez no honestly the interior is really nice for the price especially if you get leather seats it basically feels like you’re in a grand Cherokee. There’s nice soft touch material everywhere as well as really comfortable seats and nice digital displays. Don’t let the price turn you away

      Tires make all the difference there.. My AWD Mitsubishi Lancer RalliArt is just as capable in snow.. The steepest hill in my city is treacherous in the winter and my Lancer always climbs the hill with no issues, past all the big 4x4s that always get halfway then start, spinning out and sliding backwards.. All thanks to great tires I even see front wheel drives make tje climb gracefully.

    Got a 2018 compass trailhawk and I have to say it drives very well on and off road. The only thing I dislike about it is the 9-speed transmission. It makes it seem like this is a big truck and it doesn’t distribute power that well as Jeep says it does.

    I have a 2018 Jeep Compass Latitude with the 6 speed manual. I like it for what it is, a great foul weather suv. I like the manual because it doesnt have Auto Start Stop and I didnt go with a Subaru because I am not impressed with CVT transmissions. So far it seems to be really well made and solid. If I was looking at the Trailhawk version of the Compass I would just buy a Wrangler for the price.

    I really like the look of this Compass. But damn if it doesn’t get expensive at the top trims. For a young person that does a lot of city driving and parking, but still likes to go outdoors a bit, this could be an ideal car. But the Crosstrek is much cheaper.

      I would sincerely say don't go by List price as I was able to get a brand New 2018 Compass Trail Hawk , pretty loaded for 27k US Dollars after negotiating price... and I have owned it for 8 months now, and feel for the price it was well worth it... The Tech in this car even outside the 4WD system is impressive , Rain Sensor windshield wipers, Lane Control assist , Blind spot assist, Sounds System is good, remote start from phone or FOB, BIG screen on Uconnect... Uconnect system itself is AWESOME, LOVE IT !!! I have towed 2 snowmobiles thru snow storms for 100's of miles, no joke, and it did great ! Awesome for the loose rocks on the Forestry Roads.... So, point is , what I am telling you is from a real owner , real price, and really all the kind of things that come with it. Also , I believe you get a total of 4 Oil Changes for Free... Special Discounts for Trail Hawk Owners on Events and Services, accessories..etc... its been good ....

And I know Kia has smaller vehicles but still anything besides a telluride don’t bother... gm mostly crap and ford should make Escape off-road certain trim level... same for gm terrain but I think they are with Acadia and terrain but more gimicky like the new rav4s.... really considering a compass Trailhawk for the price it’s 40k new for a Cherokee and used market is horrendous F that

    Cant wait to see the Cherokee Trailhawk run :D Been VERY happy with mine. Excellent on road, and off road it has gone everywhere stock wranglers have in my local club, and several places lifted ones have. 6cyl engine has great power too, and 4 low (it has an actual 4 low range) carries nice heavy torque. Took it through Hells Revenge and finished it all, and done all my local clubs trails. Still, tires should be upgraded (Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws), and it NEEDS rock sliders to go the hard places. That 9 inches of clearance is cheated past by dragging ourselves over a lof of stuff lol xD
    That RDM can be fragile though.

    One thing that I am wondering about the Renegade/Compass. If all 4Low does is lock you into first gear, is there any difference between selecting 4low and putting it in manual mode with the shifter and selecting first gear? Does 4low AT LEAST adjust the throttle response too? If not, what’s the POINT?

      I recently purchased a 2018 compass Trailhawk. I thought it would be a great looking car with some more aggressive looking tires on it. Being trail rated and all I thought an all terrain tire would make it look more like a jeep should. After trying to find an all terrain tire for it I came to the conclusion that "trail rated" simply means you get a shiny thing stuck on the fender. I promise to do everything I can to help people from making the same stupid mistake I did by even considering a compass.

      Austin Whitt don’t worry, he’s been posting this exact comment on every compass trailhawk video he can find. He obviously didn’t look very hard either because I did one simple google search and found at least 5 brands that make all terrain tires in 215/65/r17 that fit this compass. Even falken makes the Wildpeak AT3 that’s all terrain and comes in those exact specs. He’s either terrible at using google or too lazy to find them because it took me literally 2 minutes.

I’d have to upgrade my tires to off-road tires and the suspension isn’t quite as good as the TRD variant but it is close. I do wish Toyota had included the pano moonroof (for what we paid it should’ve been standard), as that is the one thing that sets the compass apart I think. Great video though guys ✌🏽😎

      Not really...serious offroading, you always have a recovery vehicle. If these were only Wranglers, there would be one ready to recover if needed. They trusted them enough to put people with mixed offroad experience in them on a preselected course....with a recovery vehicle as they do with all these drives. No particular exception made here.
      Since these are soft roaders, a recovery vehicle is even more important.

      I have a Renegade Trailhawk that I bought as a daily driver and I have taken it on trails that i bring my Wrangler to. It does pretty well and taking off traction control fixes this issue to a point. They should have an additional mode that disables all of it so you can just send it. Sometimes thats just what ya need to do.

    $30k+ for a lifted car with a PTO driving the rear wheels sometimes... None of the smaller "Jeeps" (Renegade, Compass, Cherokee) are worth the cost if you actually use one much for off road. Just buy used & get an actual Jeep. Sure, it's not as car-like as the lifted car, but it will be more likely to get you where you need to go.
    If you want a lifted car for the road, though, take your pick.

      Alexander Sanford those prices aren’t accurate. I bought a 2018 compass trailhawk and got it for $24,000 with almost every option besides the full leather seats and safety group with lane assist and all that stuff i don’t need. I’m putting some falken wildpeak at3s on it when the next tire change comes. It’s been wonderful off-road so far though. Took it to Interlake SRA in southern Indiana and the badlands in northern Indiana. Took every trail like a champ. The only ones it couldn’t do were the black or extreme rated trails and lifted wranglers get stuck in those regularly because of the deep, deep mud in some parts. I love mine!
