    Thanks for another video over the 58! I recently watched your previous videos on it and enjoyed them.
    I'd love to see a video covering AK underfolders only (not all folding types). I know you don't do a "top five" style but I'd be interested to know what some of your favorite underfolder styles/types are even though I know you don't enjoy them as much as others.

    • @misha5670
      @misha5670 2 года назад

      Not a ton of different UF stock variants. Basically you have the original AKS47 and then the later AKMS. From there you have the Chinese style and the Romanian variants.

    • @brittainwoolley6848
      @brittainwoolley6848 2 года назад

      Sure, though there doesn't seem to be a lot of information online aside from forum opinions concerning which style of underfolder is more comfortable/easier to shoot and whether or not variants from various countries are more pleasant for one reason or another. I'm looking for some detailed knowledge and opinions honestly.

      I have noticed the same thing over the years. The Century VZ2008 seems over gassed + is built using surplus springs with who knows how many miles on them? I like the original D-Ts the most too because those were built with pretty much all original and unissued VZ58 military parts, including barrel and bolt group.

    • @ELR311
      @ELR311 2 года назад

      Agreed- got the D-T rifle with beech furniture when they first came out and a vz2008 several years later with beaver barf. The D-T is one of my favorites after I welded in the shim into the bolt to correct the dead trigger issue 😁

    Great video, the Czech made stuff is very interesting. Looks like a very well made rifle. Also, their ammo seems to be showing up right now, branded as Sellier & Bellot Tactical. Brass cased, 124 grain, usually about $12 a box. How great would it be to see this become the new cheap norm, I think they could do it.

My goodness that thing had me grinning ear to ear. 4 inch group 10 shots at 100 yards! Red dot was covering entire target. I really couldn't see shit but I figure I did ok considering. What a blast, literally and figuratively. That compensator is super obnoxious. I love it 150 rounds no issues at all. No more golden tiger left. Happy Holidays to one and all!

    The VZ58 stripper clips work fine in the SKSs I've tried them in. They are ever so slightly slimmer than Yugo clips. I got a few dozen for 60¢ each because they were sold as Chinese.

    • @misha5670
      @misha5670 2 года назад +2

      The difference is with the location of the stop bumps. With the Vz clips, they are higher up on the body as the clip sticks deeper down into the rifle. This is why a Vz clip will still work ok in an SKS, but an SKS clip sets a bit too high to feed 100% reliably in a Vz.

      Not sure of current 2021 going rate? I've bought the imports for as little as $800 and seen them sell on GB for as much as $2k. Typically, price seems to be between $1.1k and $1.3k depending on the variant. Wood furniture adds a premium, beaver adds a small increase, and black polymer tends to be the most afordable.

    Curious how much similar (or dissimilar) ballistically is 7.62x45 to the soviet round? What is the typical bullet weight and muzzle velocity? Does it operate at a comparable chamber pressure of the x39, which is about 45kpsi?

    • @misha5670
      @misha5670 2 года назад +2

      Sorry, that's not really my field of expertese. I bet there are some articles online though. A couple things I can say is that the Czech military judged the X45 round effective out to 650 meters, while the X39 only out to 450 m. The 52's sights adjust up to 1,000 meters, while the 52/57 go up to 900 meters.
