Great tips! I have 2 telephoto lenses. One is very lightweight but fixed at F/11 (Canon RF 800mm F/11) which is great for hiking on sunny days. The other is heavy ( Canon RF 200-800mm) which I use in my popup blind for wildlife photos when I am waiting and not walking much.
Thank you for providing so much info. I've gleaned so many unknown & useful tips from your video. Thank you for giving details on the 1 & 2 of the IS on our telephoto lenses. I really appreciate all that I learned from your video. Thank you
Great tips and beautiful images! My current long telephoto setup is the Tamron G2 150-600 with a D500. I usually use it handheld as long as I can stabilized on a handrail or something. Will use the tripod and monopod at times as well.
somehow I ended up getting same lens 1st version (G-1). It went on sale that I couldnt pass up, and then following week YOURS came out! I was devistated. No wonder it was such a good deal (ha ha still spendy) but learning how to use it and the different modes for stabilization was confusing. This really clears that up. Also bought the long arca plate for the smaller 100-400 version by sigma. Cant decide which is best yet, need more videos like this and Practice! Its mating season in eagle country but covid has had its detours.
I have a Manfrotto tripod with their quick release plate, You showed a "Lens foot" that connects to an Arca-Swiss plate on the head of your tripod. Who makes that foot and Arca plate on the tripod head? Thank you!!
I use my Nikon 70-200 f2.8 S Lens on my Z7 for Landscapes With a 1.4 Convertor = Plenty at 280mm f4 for 90% of Landscapes but in the Rare occassions I need more ...Go DX (APSC) for 420 mm f4>>> No Degradation with the Nikon Z Mount lenses
It doesn't annoy you that the bit depth of the raw files is reduced by 2 bits (from 14 to 12) when shooting in continuous mode? Your RAW files only retains one quarter of the data. Very very visible in post production.
The pictures shared in here are incredible!
