He changed the brake pads but was telling me how the light was still on. I emailled him a link to this video, he watched it, learnt how to install the new sensor, learnt how to reset the light and is now very happy! Job well done, thanks for taking the time.
Thanks for the explanation. I replaced the sensor but the light was still in. I was a bit frustrated about it. All I needed to do was to put ignition and wait for 30 sec. after that the light went out. Thanks
If you still have the sensor then you can just cut the end piece off and splice the two wires together and that will shut the light off with no need to buy a new sensor. It'll also last a long time. A little more reliable than using the wire in the female connector hooked up to the car. It'll keep the weather out better.
Awsome vid, I just purchased a used BMW and this light was on, thanks to your vid I was able to see the wear on the front left sensor and get it replaced. the light stayed on so I am working on the right rear sensor currently! Ill let you know if this fixes the bright light that bugs the piss out of me, thanks again make more vids like how to turn of the check engine light due to o2 sensor!....great job thanks again!

domo arigatou from japan. my light just came on half an hour ago. dont know how much that sensor is here in japan, but im daaaaaaamn sure its not gonna be ten bucks. by the way, i have a 2000 320. what kind of pads should i use? and what brand rotors? my car has only 42,000 kilometers on it, but when i eyeballed the pads last week, they were still at 50%, but the rotor may need to be replaced. so im just gonna wait til i get close to metal and replace the pads and rotors.
thanks for the comment. I don't really have a preference on brake pads. Why do you think your rotors are bad? Usually you can go through a few pad changes before the rotors need to be touched.
Better get the old wire, cut it to have like 3-5 cm long cable from the plug out, stip it, roll together, seal it with electrical tape or shrink tube, plug it back anf your connector wont be full of mud, dust, etc. But this sensor is really cheap, replace is the real solution after you replaced your break pads.
Thats it, how to switch the light of that's telling you the part of your car that stops you is fucked. That's handy for people selling cars who cant be arsed to fix the brakes.
JAhs Daddy Could be an open circuit (broken wire or connector not pushed all the way in) or crud or corrosion in one of the connections. I know this is six months old, but maybe it's still useful to someone.
Can anyone tell me why my Park light stays on all the time!! my battery gets drained every two days now and it it's the third new Battery by the AA in about a year and half, they said they could not see anything draining it, but I noticed this light on all the time now!! any clues how to make it go off!! as usual which is supposed to be 15 mins after switch off ignition, cheers
I don't know if you found your answer, but the light only stays on for 15minutes after you lock your car, it goes off after that. That light itself cannot drain your battery anyways if left on all night. Either you have a bad battery or something else is zapping your energy.
Thanks Joey, it is okay now it has actually stayed off, but If I don't use my car for 3 days It won't start, I had two new batteries from the AA about a year ago and they checked on a call out once and said the battery is fine!! so still not sure why it is doing it, maybe a parasitic drain somewhere!!
only a radio I put in but it looks like it could be the battery, as I took for MOT yesterday and get ball joint done and this morning my car would not start it normally last 3 days, I think the AA gave me two crap batteries
Did you have a bypass installed on the radio? You have to make sure people know what they're doing when messing with BMW electronics, luckily the people I was dealing with was smart enough to say NO and sent me to an authorized aftermarket installer (with insurance).

Dude, I might as well do the brakes if I took the tire off.
This could be necessary to do even after the brakes are changed.
i have an e46 M3, im not sure if the brake light reset procedure is the same as for the 325 shown here.

And sensor is not a problem to replace or drive with sensor, the problem is the sensor turns on warning light on dash at 25% pads left! I

Nice. Those sensors are a pain on the ass.
Your video is blurry AF. You also really should give a time frame for the light to go out, mine took about 15-20 seconds.
We don’t need these break pad sensors we will here the noise when it’s time to replace them.
so just to let you know this guy is incorrect. the light that went out was for the brake fluid level. the "BRAKE" light is the pad indicator light.
Man they really tried to rip you off! Try online about 20 bucks for front sensor,
