I've been riding a 79' KZ1000 ST for most of the 16yrs I've been riding. Finally gave in and bought my first "bagger" this year, a 21' Vulcan 1700 Vaquero, brand new, 1mi on the odometer when they delivered it to my house. Already have over 700mi on it despite living in NH w/the weather we have. Mine's dark metallic grey w/maroon graphics, I've added the power outlet and the back seat rest/luggage rack (for when my wife rides w/me). Looking to change the windshield to about 6-8" vs. stock, possibly the headlight and adding fairing lights too. I've noticed taking turns at night aren't very well lit up w/the stock headlight (I work 3rd shift, drive at night a lot). Changing the horn too, I have a 78' GL1000 parts bike w/2 horns on it, French horn style, MUCH louder than Kawasaki stock horns. I mean seriously. Beep beep horn on a bagger? Really?
That's awesome man!! Congrats on the new Vaquero!👏🏿 "Let the good times roll". I love my Vaquero, Kawasaki did really well. And yeah that horn is a weak😆. Stay safe out there!!!💯✌🏿
You much have not been to a "Harley Bike Night" or even ridden with a Harley Rider(s)?? They are notorious for it...😜 But I like the sound of my bike. Throttle blips doesn't hurt the engine at all.😁👌🏿
Thanks for watching!! He custom made it himself. But you can go to Facebook Group "CUSTIOMZIED VAQUERO NATION" and they'll have all the information you need. For some reason Kawasaki has not adapted to the change when it comes to the Vaquero. It's either the fully dressed Voyager(tour pack) or the sporty Vaquero😁. You basically have to make one yourself or find someone who does it. Stay safe!!👍🏿
I’m in the market for a new bike . I have a 94 1500 goldwing but don’t know if I want to spend 29 grand for a new dct goldwing or 30 something grand for a Harley so I’m seriously looking at the Kawasaki Vulcan voyager 1700
Well, you will not be disappointed with the Kawasaki Voyager or Vaquero. Both great models very reliable. Japanese durability as you know. Being you've have a Goldwing. You can cop that F6B Goldwing for under 18K, you'll have to do some searching. But I love my Vaquero, coming from a Vulcan 900 to this 1700 beast is a different ball game. It's runs well. Zero issues. Stay safe!!👍🏿
Maaaann 42K miles!!!👏🏿 That's AWESOME!! Yeaaahh, I love my Vaquero 18K miles and I haven't do any major work. Just routine maintenance. Kawaski did well💯.Thanks for watching!! Stay safe!!🤜🏿🏍️🤛🏿
I'm loving it❤. Very dependable motorcycle, low maintenance, no oil leaks(knock, knock), good gas mileage, handles well(for a heavy bike), very torquey , plenty of power, its comfortable, no issues thus far.👍🏿
Ride your buddy’s bike with the big low profile tire and I’ll bet it doesnt ride as smooth as those fat 16 inch tires that came factory on your bike. Those fat tires really add to the smoothness of the ride. The later model Harley touring bikes have gone to bigger rims and lower profile tires. Much firmer than the older bikes. I’ve got a 2012 Vaquero and I really like how smooth it rides. Someone mentioned in the comments about the factory horn on the Vaqueros, and yes they do suck.
Thanks for watching!! I actually try to keep my bikes as stock as possible. I don't have a issue with the stock tires. I keep proper tire pressure in both and keep rolling. Plus, I do alot of slow speed practicing and emergency braking practice on my stock bike. Those big tires are not fond of slow speed turning. I've talk(and seen) to alot of riders who duck walk their big tire trying to U-turn. Not really for me. The big tire do look really good👍🏿. And the modifications can get expensive, I rather pay $100 for a tire than $2,000. It each their own. Ride safe!!✌🏿🏍
