I lived in Central America among the Mayan Indians during the late 70's and 80's. Although I am not a trained academic, I do recall that the Governments of Mexico and Guatemala held the mistaken notion that the indigenous peoples of Mezo-America were by nature small in stature. They have been hungry for 3000 years, as it turns out.

I've learned so much even 11 years later. This is a great lecture, though I am curious about the conclusion that human males are the adventurers and if characteristics can be so easily divided. Women would surely have just as much an interest in following the fish/game/resources as the men of the group, especially now that we are learning that the old "men were hunters, women were gatherers" trope has been debunked.
