Wow so helpful. I could use one burner on my grill but when trying to use two or three burners all would go out so I thought the regulator hose was bad. I didn't realize the regulator could be reset or the tip on slowly opening the valve. I jumped the gun and bought a new hose. I used the tip to reset the regulator and it worked no new hose needed. Thanks for the video
You are welcome. I put the resetting the regulator instructions hoping it would prevent people from replacing regulators that were perfectly good. Thanks for commenting, I loved to hear that my strategy was effective.
You are welcome. When I made the video, I guessed that a lot of regulators might just need to be reset and did not need to be replaced. Good to hear that you didn't have to replace yours.
Great video! Easy to see what and how to do it and very clear and concise explanations. The only problem I have in replacing the regulator hose is getting to the connection end of the tube under the grill on my old JennAir. Not much room to see it and get to it behind the door and under the front right side knob. Thank you
It wouldn't come loose from the grill, Tried pb blaster. Tried for three days and it wouldn't budge. Finally asked my father for help. He said they probably put it on with locktight. He warmed it with a propane torch and got it off easy.
I am replacing my regulator hose because I've added a Little Griddle to the gas grill and require a little extra BTU. The new regulator has an adjustment valve on the regulator so that I have a range of 10 psi (standard from most factories up to 30 psi. I think I'll make my adjustments incrementally so I have hair left after the change .
Tried the PB blaster to loosen mine for multiple days and that didn't work. Then saw the comment about using heat to loosen it and that didn't work. I would love any suggestions…
Try cutting the hose and using a socket wrench on the nut. Also, when I use PB Blaster on something that is really stuck, I treat the connection with PB Blaster and give the connection a few taps with the end of a wrench. Sometimes this will help get the Blaster into the connection. You might have to do this procedure a few times over a period of several days. Good luck.
@@Know-How-Now thanks. I'll try more of the PB blaster after cutting the hose maybe get at it from a different angle. I've got a good grip on it and it'd practically bend the frame of the grill so I'm not sure the socket wrench is gonna help me more than the wrench I'm using. Maybe coming at it from below and above with the PB will get it loose
Good luck. When you put the new regulator on, you could put a couple of turns of plumbing tape or never seize on the threads. If there is a next time, it will come apart easily.
The regulator hose that I removed had a compression fitting without any rubber gasket. However, the new one that I got from Amazon has the exact same fitting but WITH a rubber gasket? Anyone know what to do in this scenario? Remove the gasket? Keep it?
I'd try it with the gasket first. Brush soapy water around the connection to confirm it's not leaking. Try same thing without it if it leaks. If it leaks both ways.... back to Amazon it goes.
mine doesnt have that yellow fitting on the original grill side its the metal clamp thing directly to the tell so there is no way to diconnect it any ideas ?
@@Know-How-Now yes its the metal silver piece before the regulator directly to the tee piece on grill which goes to the top cook side and where all burners come to it from other side no fitting
My thought is to go to the manufacturer's website and look for replacement parts or look for a support phone number and call them. It sounds like you may have to buy a part there.
Yes, I have some video clips for a few and haven't found the time to put them together. I had a crash on my bicycle in September that laid me up for a while. I am almost fully recovered.

Thank you. I didn't know about the safety feature and reset it by re installation and turning the valve on slowly. It worked!

Thank you. I was not certain which way to turn to loosen. Your video helped.
You're welcome, Nelson.
But she didn’t say she said turn it this way and since we are on video I don’t want sure if we were looking at it backwards

No thread sealant on your connection?
There is a gasket on the end, no thread sealant needed. If it were a pipe with tapered thread, then tape or sealant would be used.

I'm not totally clear about your question. You are saying that there is no fitting on the hose where it connects to the grill?
