Great underground garage psych from the Windy City The fuzz solos have the greatest tone. Killer guitar/wah wah Plenty of focus on the drummer. Drum solos a plenty. Gloria Lambert had a Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, Melanie kind of voice I would have loved to have been at one of their shows. Superb psychedelia. Great LP If I didn't know they were from Chicago, I may have guessed that they were a San Fran psych band.

Gloria and Marc married and had me and my brother, they divorced in the 80s. Mom moved to Wi, Dad still in Illinois. Will see them both this weekend for Christmas :) Cheers glad you love it, I am going to show them all these wonderful comments over the holidays :)
The Great Chicago Fire took place in 1871. The Chicago Haymarket Square Riot took place in 1886. The Chicago World's Fair Columbian Exposition took place in 1893. Great Chicago fuzz took place in 1968. I wonder what neighborhood they were from.
I notice an influence from the west coast sound at the time - namely Jefferson Airplane and the Mamas & Papas. The guitar has that wah wah reverb that's got the sound you might dream about driving down PCH or Lake Shore Drive with a Zap comic and a discrete joint riding along in the back seat with Jorma & Jack.
Truthfully, (the next phrase is usually a lie) I was watching TV, and turned the volume down on the Tube, it sounded tinney & loud, but I came in and listened this time, and felt differently. It brought me back in pictures - to my own youth - It would have been nice to have more. She does sounds like Grace Slick
