This is a lifesaver! I will try it tomorrow, (I work on the library computer so it takes like a 2 hours to render with it's cpu a shitty quality image! Hope this improves it!!)

Hey, I had some issues, but I redo it one more time following all the steps and it worked, I'm not sure what's wrong on your end.
If I have to be honest its tricky at first, I also had multiple issues to make it work,
Try to delete all the files then follow the video from the start, hope that helps....
If not you can try with other videos and scripts, but don't expect a lot because even if you make it you have something like 1-2 hours per day for rendering...@@willtube2

This is awesome! I'm having a slight problem though. I have a simple image that I'm rendering out, but for some reason the brightness is boosted after it renders in colab, when in blender's default viewport it looks fine.
@@mdreamslk Hi, I have had a similar problem where there is a strange purple hue that appears but I was wondering if you think that having an exr (which may be missing in the file) might be the problem.

Hey, great tutorial but just a small question. In the step of install blender, I put the name of my blender type but it pops up a message saying it is not a 'tar' format. I found out that my is dmg so instead of tar I replaced it with dmg but it still did not work, any problem or I should continue with it?
It works but I had a video file packed in the blender file which was missing in the render :(

Hello! This error only works on Eevee render (still/ animation) and I'm curious if I'm the only one having this error recently.
This scene is just the default startup setup with a light, camera and cylnider instead of a cube.
The error says:
EGL Error (0x3001): EGL_NOT_INITIALIZED: EGL is not initialized, or could not be initialized, for the specified EGL display connection.
Managed to successfully fallback to surfaceless EGL rendering!
EGL Error (0x3009): EGL_BAD_MATCH: Arguments are inconsistent (for example, a valid context requires buffers not supplied by a valid surface).
EGL Error (0x3001): EGL_NOT_INITIALIZED: EGL is not initialized, or could not be initialized, for the specified EGL display connection.
Managed to successfully fallback to surfaceless EGL rendering!

Check the file path you copied into the render initiation code. and try again, had the same issue, just fixed it by putting the right file path. hope this helps.

For they just don't render, it can be a volume cube, volume world, smoke,whatever...

Its quite a helpful tutorial but I keep getting this message at the final step ERROR: ld.so: object '/content/drive/MyDrive' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (cannot read file data): ignored.

How do I go about with this?
Make sure you remove: "/content" before you press run.

@@mdreamslk It seems like in the last cell was missing the $filename word after the -b I dont know why. But now it is working well thanks a lot! :)
@@mdreamslk I have the same problem. I’m opening the correct .blend file. Either it renders the default cubes or stops with ‘^C’ . And in the beginning, when I run the last cell it starts with a line reading- ERROR: ld. so: object ‘/usr/lib/86_64-linux-gnu/libtcmalloc. so.4’ from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded( cannot open shared object file): ignored.

My man I think you should upload a video of just doing the install, keeping it very straightforward, just installation and rendering, Then you can do a follow up video which will get you more viewers of updating The versions. Once it got to the timestamp 12:21. I stopped following instructions🤯

Hey there, first of all, I loved your tutorial. However, I'm encountering an error, or maybe it's not an error, I'm not quite sure. Everything seems to go smoothly, but after rendering the last sample, I see "^C," and there's no output on the specified output path either

Hi! Awesome tutorial. Sorry to annoy you with a question, after following the steps everything went fine and my scene started rendering, but when it finished, it didn't save and the last lines on the log are different from yours. In yours, after the line that says "Finished" it says "Saved: (path)". On my end, after the "Finished" line, it just says "^C", and my file wasn't saved. I tripled check all the paths and everything looks normal. Any ideas what might be?
I wanted a single frame so I setted the -s and -e at "01" for both. That's the only thing different from your setup (that and the fact that I installed a different version of Blender, but just a newer one). I also did connect to gcollab with Google.
Oh and I forgot to mention, I also changed the file type to "OPEN_EXR_MULTILAYER", since that's what I needed.

After troubleshooting it with different settings it seems that the problem was that the final file output was simply to big/heavy (it was a very high-res multi-layer exr that, if saved, would have resulted in a 2gb file or so). I guess the system run out of memory or something after finishing and trying to save such a large file.
Damn, you're right. That was my issue too. Tried to swap the blender file to something super basic now, instead of my heavy scene. Now it works. Did you figure out any workaround? Or did you completely give up on this?
@@synsam12345 I had the issue several times and IIRC it was always a relation between the (little) remaining avaible memory of the system while rendering and the amount necessary to actually write the finished file once the rendering processing was done. The only solution I found was to optimice/simplify the scene to reduce its memory consumption so to give it enough headroom to write the output.

@@mdreamslk I have baked the simulation in the fluid simulation(physics) . Is there any other method to bake? And I had uploaded the cache files to drive but do i need to also give the path of cache files? By the way THANK YOU for replying
So apparently google will suspend your account if you use the colab for mainly rendering only. is there a work around to this?

I found this too. Just testing out a scene. I guess I wasn't sure exactly who the target audience was. My Nitro 5 with a Laptop 3050ti caught up the T4 in 30 seconds after 3.5 minutes running Collab. GREAT tutorial, but it doesn't look like I'll have need for it.

not recommends. Certain things in EEVEE will be imposible to run in colab without opening blender window(colab runs blender on as command line).

I was facing the same problem but when i did not run the cell which was meant for terminating error (This cell- To get rid of possible errors run this) my problem was solved. This is weird 😂

In Colab, Delete your "Renderz" folder you have just created, and inside your Google Drive create a new folder named "Renderz" and try to restart rendering in Colab. Your folder was created inside Colab and not in Google Drive. I've got the same Error the first time I've tested Google Colab
