    I just spoke with the Manager at Michael’s and asked if I could seal my acrylic painting that has glitter on it with mod podge. They told me it was not a sealer! Even though the bottle of mod podge matte finish states water-based glue, sealer and finish, a Manager at MICHAELS CRAFTS store told me it is not a sealer! I have watched several videos on mod podge, The bottle itself states that it is a sealer but apparently everyone seems to be misinformed. I finally used a water-based white glue that I bought at the Dollarama, two bottles for $1.25 and sealed the glitter onto my acrylic painting. In my opinion, The mod podge which cost me $20 for 16 ounces is a glorified glue and is way over priced and improperly labelled because the word sealer should be removed. I will now endeavour to varnish my painting.
    Thank you for your video.

      Gloss Mod Podge: www.firemountaingems.com/4649BS.html

      Hmmm, we're not sure. We've never experimented with that kind of project. Magic gloss needs to be cured under UV light so you could put it out in the sun to cure. Give it a try. That's the fun with creating!

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems  3 месяца назад +1

      Hello, some of the products from back when this video was made are no longer available. We can't speak specifically to the application of fishing flies, but you could check out the new Mod Podge epoxy resin. Here is the link: www.firemountaingems.com/8461BS.html
      As I said, we have not used this product for your specific application, but this product is very durable and dries clear. It can be used to seal designs on cups or mugs, so it can withstand repeated handwashing, which could make it a great product to at least try out. Hope this information helps!

    OK bizarre question. I make sugar graft cake toppers made from edible modeling paste or gumpaste. People often ask if they can varnish them so they can keep them as ornaments once it's taken off the cake. Is there a mod podge that would work for this?? Resin is good but if the measurements or mixing is not perfect it won't work. Also yacht varnish works but you have to do it outside because of the smell. Any info on mod podge would be great

    • @kellyfairbairn9333
      @kellyfairbairn9333 3 года назад +1

      @@kellywilson5238 Hi Kelly. No I'm afraid I didn't, not with mod podge. The only thing that really works is epoxy resin which when it's mixed absolutely correctly is brilliant. The figures I have coated are hard as rock and so far still in one piece. It makes your figure glossy so they look like glazed pottery. You just have to make sure that you measure and mix it just right and really protect your surface that your working on because if it dries on to anything that's it its there forever. I've found the best thing is baking parchment as it doesn't stick to that. And use disposable containers and tools for mixing and brushing it on because whatever you use will never be usable again. There are lots of RUclips videos that help. Hope this was helpful. Sorry for the long essay 🤣🤣🤣 I am still on the look out for a more straightforward solution but most things just dissolve the sugar.
