The engineer is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything really great for us non firefighters
The ammo can system is a great idea only need to check the kit once and then until that seal is broken you know it's still ready to go

The mark 3s can also extend water flow water to areas that run up a hill when you lose pressure from and engine

SMFR is an amazing department, and where it's located is amazing.
I'm in the SMFR District, which covers 3 counties, land ranging from rural open land, to dense forest, even suburban / densely populated area. Whole district is over 300 square miles, 30 stations cover all of that land too.

Its cool to see the Americas equipment, something I noticed is they dont seem to have heat covers. Im a volunteer fire-fighter with the nswrfs and our trucks have heat reflectors to protect the crew.

Now that I watch the rest of your video I see that you're doing it the right way so in the other pond where the community where the community fish are put some cinder blocks and then take your live rock and put it over the cinder blocks trust me your grouper and bigger fish will love so basically all you got to do is put cinder blocks in there just a few I put four in mine in a square then I put all the all the rocks over the cinder blocks and decorated it it was badass

aahhh it's just an ever-so-slight remix of a CAL FIRE Model 34 spec with a few lighting changes, and one or two compartmentalizational differences (double doors or slide out). The no-tailboard is a bold choice.

43:40 I’ve heard the emergency shelters referred to as “shake & bakes”. The fire department where I live has at least one wildland truck, assigned to them by the state, that can be used for daily use by the department for wildland type fires, but the truck and assigned personnel can be deployed anywhere it is needed, including out of state. I live in Texas, but it is very common to see these interagency trucks driving around our town from many states away. We do have a sort of “wildland”base here, where these trucks stage for any fires that pop up.

I am a Firefighter in florida and we have the red and white lights but no amber. The red and blue confuse me in these areas because in our area coos use red and blue or blue and white.

Im in England and find your videos awesome. My local fire service is West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. Would you consider doing reviews, here in England? To my knowledge WYFRS has over 40 stations... Very similar setup to the US, although our appliances are Red!

Another California related comment, you should definitely visit Alameda County Fire Dept in Northern California just south of Oakland and East of San Francisco, they have a lot of specialty units including: Swift Water Rescue, Hazardous Materials Team, Dozers, and Heavy Rescue. Overall it’s a really cool Department that would be a cool feature on this channel!

Boise Mobile Equipment custom builds some of the best type 6, 5, 4, 3 wildland engines, water tenders, and crew carriers in the world.
It would be awesome for you to get an invite to their production facility in Boise, ID.

For wildland fires there is nothing better than TATRA Force chassis, if you're talking about "the world", and I bet these guys don't build on them. And anyway, when talking about "the world" don't forget that almost nobody uses American style fire engines outside of north America.

Has any fire department looked at the newer battery operated chainsaws? They have some out there that meet or exeed the power of a gas saw! These saws would be good to use in close to a fire or hotspot, and you're not carrying flammable fuel into the fire!

Our county FD also has the battery powered extrication tools and fans. Both are receiving initial good feedback, although they are pricey.

Think departments also are looking more at run time, even though they’re good for environment and all. But the price for battery run times aren’t there yet. But also looking electric Tesla’s burn hotter and longer.

Use motorola apex, our radios are programmed to work in a system that works in a 3rd world country. Ours now just got updated to state forestry and will be updated soon to surrounding counties. Love these new radios, i got promoted to Lt. So my radio number changed and all the radio shop did was push a update to my radio, where as before we had to swap out our radio to change ID number or turn it into the radio shop. Now any changes we just call the radio shop and they push a update.

only thing i dont like about this truck is how the batteries are exposed under the cab like that. i get its probably to be easily serviceable but should be in at least a metal box to give em some protection from the fire
