@@Dakotahlikesboxing When I say strongest in history I’m not going just on his KO ratio or punching power. You can find evidences of his overall strength for his fighting weight at 175lbs based on numerous training videos going back 2 years. Go watch them. In one vid he benched 330lbs doing a few reps… another vid pressing 285lbs with speed…another doing 1 rep with many varied sizes of diminishing weights indicating the end of a progressive routine... squatting 352lbs a few reps... and many more incredible strength routines. I saw him arm wrestle with heavyweight Russian stable mate Arslanbek Makhmudov who weighs 265lbs at 6ft ‘6. He had to use both arms and all his weight to bring Beterbiev’s arm down. Anywhere he clubs you on top of the head he seriously hurts you and those are just arm punches.... If you lay on the ropes and allow him to get his hips into his punches you can make a case for attempted murder. Most of his sparring partners he sends home never to return. Former champ Oleksandr Gvozdyk was hospitalized and went into early retirement, We still haven’t seen Joe Smith in a post fight interview and reports from ESPN say that he went to hospital suffering from a concussion. watch?v=9XbxHoJWpGs … He’s the strongest LHW in history.

The assistant coach holding the mitts, who's been helping Beterbiev train, is John "The Iceman" Scully. BTW: that hammer exercise is good for strengthening rotator cuff (shoulders), biceps, forearm and wrist. I have a weight bar that I do something similar with. It's similar to hammer curls.

This is my statement for Bob Arum about Artur Beterbiev. We all know, you are the great promoter, you are the honest one. You are powerful and influential person in boxing. You are the Thanos of boxing Universe. Artur is the main brilliant stone in your infinity gauntlet, most powerful. But he has his own dream, he has a hope of all his life- to become the undisputed unified champion. He doesn't ask you for much money, he doesn't trying to keep a foot in both camps. Artur worked hard for all his life, he devoted his life to box. He's never have been crasy about money, cars, gold, women, yachts. He is our pride and glory. He just wants to be respected and honourable, as he deserves. We all have seen "The knight's tale" with Heath Ledger. Artur is William Thatcher of our time. The guy, noble at heart, born in Cheapside, should get his real name: Sir Artur Beterbiev. Bob, you are not a young man. You've done and seen a lot. You are not a poor man. I just want, you, one day, could say: "I helped this guy to make his dream true". That' s not about money, how much DAZN or ESPN pay. That is about brilliant, who needs the last, final touch, to become one of the greatest. Artur deserves to become the glory hall member. And you can be the reason of it, if you stop thinking about money. No one then will remember you as a rich man. Everybody will say: that was man, who made Artur, Beterbiev, the undefeated, the undusputed, unified champion of the world with 100% KO ratio. Bob Arum, I hope you will read this and think about it. Please, after Yarde, find a way for Artur to unify with Bivol as soon, as it is possible. Artur is the Stephen King's last Gunslinger in boxing, honour him, please

Beterbiev is a super human. Explosive, heavy handed, High fast twitch fibres, amazing endurance, great chin (he took a huge punch off heavy hitting Johnson and got up and recovered quickly), incredibly strong and most likely super strong ligaments and tendons that don't lose much, if any energy on impact hence him being so devastating.
He trains how all boxer should train but rarely any do except in Eastern Europe. Olympic lifting should be a staple of all boxers aswell as all the strength training shown in this video.

Fantastic video! However Tyson did do heavy squats, bench and deadlifts but he just didn’t speak about it (rumoured to of asked the legendary strength coach Charles Poliquin to train him). There is still not enough emphasis on maximal strength training with western boxers - the Russians have bar far the best literature on strength training and periodization for speed and power sports. In the west weight training is still naively associated with making you slower ( Probably still being confused with bodybuilding ). End of the day if two athletes are pound for pound same skill level, the stronger one will win. Beterbiev is a great example - he makes heavy lifting a year round affair not just for a 6 week training camp. Conditioning can be easily improved in weeks but strength and explosiveness takes years!! The aim of any fighter should be to become the strongest in there weight division - it won’t hurt lol. I just wonder if someone like Floyd Mayweather had a year round world class S+C coach how much faster he would be getting guys out of there later into his career at Welter!

Being a personal trainer previously in life, I can see how he has a lot of mid range power based upon the way he does his weight and strength training. Explosive power in mid range often is from weight training due to the fact that normally in a push scenario like a punch once you get past that halfway point it’s not as hard. Just like benchpress when you’re halfway up. This means in that shorter range you have a lot more power that’s worth the strength is concentrated. he also doesn’t do slow, but rather explosive pushes. This makes it perfect for mid range power.

I’ve been talking about him since heavyweight Olympics, I feel like a fan when their band gets popular, I didn’t want to share this monster lol. I want benavidez vs beterbiev now, any longer and he’s getting old, both came from heavyweight, Benavides comes from lower weight, but has the height and reach, gave usyk hell technically . Imagine anyone hurting Arthur is weird
