    Bro.... she just killed the game. I legit never thought about cutting them in half. Way more natural looking and your packs stretch farther.

      REMEMBER! When they start to grow out, they WILL start twisting because they are smaller/shorter and they WILL pull your hair more.

      @@Riververchi Yep. And when they are smaller you loose the weight of the “sandwich”. Find to use if you have ONE left and want to use it when your glasses go and they may protect that specific area.

      I am so excited to try this technique. Does anybody know as soon as she cuts it in half but then she mentions I think scoring that half is that right or no am I hallucinating? I thought she said she likes to score it before she sandwiches it so that it lies more flat lays more flat. I hope I’m making sense. Oh Lord, somebody help.

    Thanks for this!! My hair is thin and this makes so much more sense to do it THIS WAY! I've been doing my own for yrs. Putting them in 2 whole pieces back to back causes them to eventually slide/ grow out uneven. Plus the big pieces end up warped or edges separating. This looks easier as far as feeling around the back of my head with 1 poece as opposed to trying to line up 2 pieces. Going to start a new set today. My fingers are crossed for a better outcome then before!
    Thanks again,
    Cathy

    The reason why they slip out is because you aren’t clamping them with a hot iron . If you clamp the tape in your hair it will seal it making them last longer

    I'm SHOOK. I'm so glad I came across this. I just ordered my extensions yesterday and I keep thinking about how kind of "bulky" the tape-ins are if you didn't cut and fold them, but I wanted to try it nonetheless. I bought 2 packs of dark brown and 1 of a medium brown to add dimension. Now I'm thinking of cutting them in half and rather than folding them, just sandwich the smaller pieces with dark brown on top/medium brown underneath throughout my head. You deserve a standing ovation girl.

    Honestly this is genius! I love tape in extensions but like you I have thin hair and I always had difficulty with applying them correctly, I could never apply them straight across some were always lower than others and matching them up on top of one another was a challenge in and of itself. I never got the ratio of hair "sandwiched" to extension correctly so the top piece would always end up separating and peeling apart from the bottom piece and of course anytime I wanted to pull my hair up or back, the seams were clearly visible. Your technique of applying the extensions are going to make things so much easier for me now and I won't need to worry about my hair being thin because the seams will barely be visible since their a quarter of the original size. I really appreciate this video because it gives me new hope that I can still wear my tape in extensions!

    This is amazing! I'm about to try for myself for the first time - do you think this would work without cutting the extensions in half first? Like if you just took the tape, cut it halfway down in the middle, and then folded / sandwiched them from there? I just feel like for the first time putting that many tiny pieces might be tough. Thank you for your help you are amazing!

  • @SaintVodou
    @SaintVodou 2 года назад +5

    I thought I invented this technique!! Like you, I have fine thin pin-straight hair that I’ve always cut and colored myself. After watching a DIY install that started at the crown (great idea) I found I still had trouble sandwiching the inch-long extension tapes. The top piece was fine; trying to match the bottom half to it -without catching strays, putting too close to roots, missing the top one entirely and sticking half my head to the bottom adhesive-was NOT fine. I kept thinking, wouldn’t it be easier to have ONE WHOLE SMALLER tape I can WRAP AROUND a small lock of hair, instead of this over-under stuff requiring two hands and catching tape on everything? So I tried it, terrified that I was breaking some extension law. Not to worry. This is the wave of the DIY future: soooo much easier, as most people have the dexterity to separate a lock of hair cleanly and wrap something around it (i.e., make a ponytail); and it looks so much more natural too. Watching you was very helpful; you’re a natural at hosting and gave me plenty of hacks. You and your results are gorgeous-the best kind of advertising. I have a feeling that in a couple of years everyone will be offering (and charging for) wrap-around tape-ins, but you showed it here first. Thanks for a great video!

    So you supposed to lose a lot of your natural hair when taking those tapes off ?

    • @itshoneybii
      @itshoneybii  3 года назад

      Yes.
      Even when removing correctly, you will notice a lot of hair loss.Each day it is normal to lose 100+ hairs from our head. These hairs have reached their lifespan and shed naturally. When you have semi permanent extensions installed, when these hair fall out, they have no ability to fall as they are attached to the tape. When you remove the tape, those hair are finally released.
      The hair loss you see falling out is the natural hairs you shed during the past 4 weeks finally being released from the tape.
      You can identify if this is natural or forced hair loss by the color of the root of the hair. If the root is white, it is natural shedding. If the root is dark in color matching that of your natural hair color, then this hair was alive and forcibly pulled out from the removal process or wearing your extensions too tightly.
      Always install your extensions with a little slack to avoid tension on the roots. Always remove your extensions with a generous amount of remover to avoid pulling live hairs out. Extensions should slide off with ease and no discomfort when done correctly.
      I made a video showing my DIY remover that is my go to! ruclips.net/video/RfnPngULats/видео.html

    How long can tape extensions be on hair before it had to be removed, can it be used again several times on hair, how long can tape extensions be on hair before it had to be removed, how long do I have to be without tape extensions before I can wear it again, how long can it last before it gets worn out, how many tape exensions do I need for short and thin hair when I want long and thick hair, how can I keep it on my hair without it falling off, does it feels natural like our own hair when we wear it, will tape attachment be invisible on short and thin hair, can it make hair worn, how to blow-dry my hair and tape extensions without it being worn if tape extensions have to be blow-dryed every time I wash both my hair and tape extensions and do tape extensions need any other products than just extra tape, remover and another shampoo and conditioner?

      Nadia Stark perhaps flattening and pinning the hair with two bobby pins very close to the top before removing the old tape would hold it in place? Idk im just guessing lol

    How would you do tape in extensions directly in the front without the tape being seen?

    I have thick hair, I know you said you used two packs of tape ins, but would you recommend 3 packs for thicker hair? Or would 2 be fine?

    Hi Bronwyn-
    I saw this method in a Japanese salon video.. you did such a great job! Do you use a 3-way mirror or go by feel? My hair is very fine and thin and I’m worried about damage when they come out- how has that been with your hair? Thank u so much- great video and info!
