For those asking about the cars. For a while it was a practice to use old non running cars as a way to slow river bank erosion. All oil antifreeze and any other fluids where drained
Need some operating chip? You can snag a nice chunk of change by parking your fully insured vehicle smack dab in a yearly flood zone. Judging by the new ones upstream and the old ones that been piling up for decades downstream it's a tried-n-true tradition. Good video! I liked!
I'm interested in the pile of cars... Looks like many years of cars coming to rest there. Any info? More photos of them? Totally peaks my interest! :) thank you
Man! We were in Page AZ at Antelope Canyon less than a week after this, and the guide was talking about the flash flood, pretty amazing to see actual video of the event! Thanks for posting. That shot where all the cars piled up from years of floods is extremely eery. Never go hiking without full knowledge of weather reports!
Can the height of a drought be the best time to upgrade water related mass storage infrastructure since it may be likely for Mother Nature to give us the opposite of what we have now once the drought ends?
Most don't know this is where half your trash is being thrown or buried but you'll never see it because they choose location that are rear to spot to destroy it
Why do people choose to live in a semi-desert region? The buildings visible in this clip and the wreckage lying around display a complete indifference on the part of the inhabitants to their environment. The film was interesting.
For much the same reasons people choose (those that have a choice in the matter to begin with) in flood plains, tornado alley, earthquake prone areas, areas prone to forest or brush fires, coastal areas, and…well, just about anywhere when it comes down to it.

Brian,
Absolutely stunning photography. Well Done.
Great job of shooting to show all the orienting landmarks and telling details, and good editing--thanks! What a record.
THANKS FOR POSTING THIS. PAGE IS JUST GORGEOUS AND THIS FLASH FLOOD IS AN AMAZING SIGHT.
I had completely misjudged the scale until I noticed the JUNKED CARS in the shot at 3:00. Amazing!
Arizona is so awesome! Beautiful photography.
This footage is incredible!
It looks like... like... silky metallic melted milk chocolate... I live here and haven't seen this footage yet! Awesome video, thanks!

I always wondered why the Colorado River looked so red, now I know where it gets its color.

Great film. Not sure where each clip is from so I am off searching Google Earth.
I do not know the history of the junked cars, but I've been told it was an old junk yard, that has been ignored and never cleaned up.
It might be worth the while of the local scrap-merchants to clean it up.
@@nicholasmaude6906 probably not looks like a pain in the ass
Mother Nature doing some re arranging. Great quality video.
Does anyone else feel like they are in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory?
Ha I was just going to say that I was waiting for a fat kid to fall in and some oompa loompa's to start singing :)
Deez Nuts Oompa, Loompa, Doopity Doo!
wow. I left from Page to the Grand Canyon 2 days prior to this happening.
did that cut through an old junkyard? lots of scrap cars there.
Must be where that O'Reilly's gets its inventory.
Huge pile of cars from past much larger flood. Wow
A wise woman once said "That's Power Ray... Right There!"
I agree about the Video. Did you use GoPro by chance? OZ....
Looks like my bathroom after some real spicy food
I wonder how many snakes are in that wash? Snakes on a plain.
Flood was cutting the land and few people were standing too close 😮

Yes, now we definitely know where Willy Wonka's chocolate factory is!
Did it flow into Lake Powell or where?
Nope, this went right into the Colorado, it entered just below Glen Canyon Dam (so, missing Lake Powell)
@@passion84art Ah I see.
Anyone know what the deal is with all the cars?
l guess thats a so called landfill .

The car junk yard in the video isn't very inspiring ! What was that all about?!
