  • My third day in and around Warsaw, Poland. The morning started with rain. We visited one of the most beautiful and unique stables I have ever seen!! Stajnie Chojnów. We saw some monuments in the forest. And in the evening were caught in a rain storm in Wilanów and found shelter in the beautiful church there. We saw glimpses of the palace which we will visit again when the weather is good. What an adventure!
I was invited to come here and stay and explore the rest of the week. It's so special when one of my RUclips subscribers hosts me and shows me around. This week in Warsaw will be very special and filled with A LOT of beautiful places and moments in and around the capital of Poland. Please come with us 🇵🇱🥰

The palace complex in Wilanów was the only undamaged palace in Warsaw. He was 'only' robbed.

The architect of the stable in Chojnów was Jacek Koziński, an innovator in thinking about wooden constructions, unfortunately recently deceased. He designed wooden houses, even entire housing estates - referring to the tradition of Polish rustic construction. He was my neighbor in the village of Zalesie Górne, located not far from Chojnów and Konstancin, as well as the designer of my house. He was an eccentric, walking barefoot most of the year and translating, for example, the Chinese philosopher Lao-Tse in his spare time :). Great dude.
Your companion also took you to the Chojnowskie Forest, this picnic spot is called Zimne Doły ("Cold pits"), from the lookout tower you saw two lakes where you can picnic, there is even a large swimming pool next to the lakes, the other water reservoirs are fish ponds. On the other side of the lakes you looked at from the tower, in the middle of the forest lies my village Zalesie Górne, it's a pity they didn't take you there :)

You should Ninke look for some of your subscribers when you visit a new place because that kind of sightseeing might be more interesting for you.Pozdrawiam from not far.

Nynke you have a personality that allows you to attract people with a good heart. Thanks to your Warsaw host for the interesting places you took us to. The horse riding center is an object known from the TV series "Leśniczówka", the restaurant in the movies is called "Borowik" (mushroom from Polish forests).

That is a good point, especially since you ran into that one rude person that one time. Or at least it's the only time I'm aware of.

I love the rain! I love that it didn't destroy your gear. The restaurant was pretty even though it was closed. I would like to climb up some stairs and look down on some tree tops or lakes or whatever. Actually I just need to do that. But my brother is not the outdoorsy type and my roommate is way too much the outdoorsy type and we would be there for hours and I would be dead. But I have climbed stairs so rarely since I moved to Florida. Back home my apartment was on the second floor so always climbing the stairs. At least twice a day. And then after living here a few years I went to DC and I went to Ford's theater and I was in the basement where I think the bathrooms are and my seats were in the balcony and by the time I got to my seats my legs were burning. The balcony wasn't really far. It wasn't like the fourth balcony or something.
You went to Wilanów! I can't even remember which one that was. Since I read Poland I have been reading about five generations of women from Odessa through Siberia to New York City. I like historical fiction about women. But I don't like it on the prairie... Ordinarily I prefer to start somewhere when there's electricity. But I did read a two book set which started in Switzerland in 1901 or something. Multiple generations of women. I think it was Switzerland and then possibly Austria or Germany and briefly through France to England and then Canada in the east and then out on the prairies of Canada but not for very long and then to California. I really need to keep track of the names of these books.
Then I got another book about Ukraine but it was too new. By the time I got to it it had to be returned and couldn't be renewed. I need to remember what it was called. I was rereading the last section of the previous book and I didn't have time to start the new one.
