Record No.25 Vice Full Restoration

I bought this vice for just under £50 and decided it needed to be fully restored due to the state it was in. It took just under a week of spending a few hours a day on it to get it cleaned up and another 4/5 days to paint it.

As well as this vice i have 3 more currently in transit to my house to be restored which include a Record 34 and a Record 74.

You really need to film in Landscape mode

Make sure you file those hardened jaws to touch up your file, and squirt plenty of grease through that oil hole in the side…

Great video! Thanks for the link to the paint. I am about to do the same to an old Record vice. Did you use the Gloss, Simi Gloss, Satin or Matt Enamel?

That's a semi gloss, I did the restoration but cannot get back into the account

But I recommend not using a primer, I've used one on my latest restoration and it just doesn't help and when it chips you see grey paint, and you will definelty need some pre paint cleaner to degrease the vice because the paint really demands a clean surface
