I have a old long 460 that I think it might not have enough hydraulic fluid. Dip stick is short and shows about an inch of oil on a 6 or 8 inch stick. How do I know if it's too low?
Can you show the dipstick with the correct level of fluid? The Operator's Manual doesn't show this level and the dipstick is hard to read with confusing markings. My remote hydraulic connection doesn't seem to work but I don't want to overfill the housing. Would be really helpful to learn the correct level.
@@rhynecars (FarmHome on another device here.) I kinda' suspect the Long manual was written in Italian, translated to Romanian, then re-translated to English. Can be difficult to find the relevant information, and if you do, it may not be entirely clear if it means what it seems to say. I've gotta swap-out the milky hydraulic fluid in a 460 (not DT), so I'm checking videos to see if the manual is leading me astray.
Hello, can you tell how to change the oil and transmission fluid? My tractor is a long 2260. My brother lost the original manual and I cannot find one anywhere. Thank you.
Here is the link for the manual for the 460 drive.google.com/file/d/1XNjN9_pU9a6DRzgRScLhUgVfumHpM1An/view?usp=drivesdk I believe the engine and transmission share fluid, there is a large drain plug on the bottom of the transmission that will drain both. I used Walmart tractor fluid to replace the hydraulic and transmission fluid and it's working great: www.walmart.com/ip/Super-Tech-Heavy-Duty-Tractor-Hydraulic-and-Transmission-Fluid-2-Gallons/16879814?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=3573&adid=2222222227816879814_117755028669_12420145346&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-294505072980&wl5=9008197&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=16879814&wl13=3573&veh=sem_LIA&gclid=CjwKCAiA3KefBhByEiwAi2LDHGQ2ZVFw4pHBQffseedBGwyYDjwZmNyvc_qD2k4JG5sjbvQkKUHuUxoC_TIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Is there a reason you refilled through the hard to reach hole under the seat instead of the one next to the gear shift like the manual says?
Pure ignorance. I have the manual too.

Where did you find the new filter?
clean the old one with kerosene, as per manual.
