I really like the psycology behind it! i think this is by far the most challenging thing for all of us photographers! If you really can connect with your clients even in stressful times like on weddings then you made it! i must say this is right now my biggest challenge! thank you roberto for your inspiring photoshot and the behind the scenes! 🙏🏻
So great Roberto! I love to see u in ur element...not being afraid to fail, thinking outside and inside the box. Trying different things, experimenting, moving, shooting...I love it man! This is the reason why u stick out from the rest. U truly inspire me. Thank u!!!
Wow John thank you man! This is what I do in my studio all the time. Come up with a concept, practice it, and finally, execute it. It's great! Glad you liked the video!
such great info. Loved watching you shoot, and how you speak to the model. Just as important, I love how Francesca gave her input on how to speak to model, what gives her confidence to commit to certain poses.
This was fantastic. I love your work, Roberto, but I did not realize what a great educator you are. One thing I did not understand was the lighting that began about 6:15. I looks like you're using a dedolight or something shootingint into some modifier propped on the chair. What is that? Finally, your model is breathtakingly beautiful. I loved being part of your shoot as you two worked together. Thank you.
Thank you Dan. That modifier propped up on a chair is just a square mirror. I often shoot lights into mirrors to throw off the light in slightly different directions. It gives you a look that is a bit less predictable as a strobe through an typical modifier. You can see the results are very beautiful.
This is a good video. I really liked it. She is a very pretty model. In which I don't know if I would get intimidated because I like to talk with the girls and I don't let intimidation get in the way. Get in the way or affect I'm communicating. But I get where you want to send original in the affirmation and not too generic. This show is good affirmation for me thanks
Really enjoyed this video, Roberto, many thanks for sharing this! It really helps me to see the way you're working and especially how to communicate with the model
Very informative, Thank you. I work with a lot of new models, and it is hard too sometime strike a balance between helping them with posing via instruction and letting them do their own thing. Most don't have the confidence and tend to just try to look sexy, which in turn looks forced. I got a lot of tips on ways to deal with that situation so thank you.
Well depends on the photographer. Look at his experience and level of work. Turning over too much control to the subject doesnt always work unless the model already has a high level of emoting and body language posing skill...especially if there is lack of any direction...like a ship without a rudder. And then again different photographers have different abilities ..Like Peter Lindberg , his thinking process is so complex due to his broad level of knowledge of art history, knowledge in philosophy of art and human nature, ability to connect , and lighting that puts his photography in a completely different sphere...it all depends on the viewer/subjects personal preference. He has these really high contrast brooding images where he states he prefers melancholic characteristics rather than lighthearted and smiling subjects. He states he doesnt want his subjects to laugh and smile because in his opinion the laughter hides the true expression of his subject. Not sure this is always true bc every person is different...everyone's true self is not rooted in melancholy .

How to speak to a client is widely underestimated! Such a crucial part of the shoot no one ever seems to talk about. Glad you liked it Julika!
I love watching the process. Great learning

This is pure gold, Roberto. Why did you go for symetry on this shoot? I read your book Picture Perfect Posing and you gave advice on avoiding symetry.
