Moravec was one of the very great pianists - although never a household name. His phrasing and tone are out of this world. I know no better performance of the Chopin preludes, and this Ravel is divine.
This is the first i've ever heard Ivan Moravec. Usually this piece is performed with so much rubato that it feels out of control and almost sloppy in some cases, but this is the perfect balance of rubato and it sounds very precise and clean. This is by far my favorite recording of this piece.
There is no better interpretation/performance of this work.
I can listen to everything Moravec plays, for hours, all day. There's no one else whose playing holds true for long periods of time.
Thank you!
So right. I've listened to Parnassum 50+ times and the entire Children's Corner nearly as many. The transitions are seamless.

His playing is perfection always

I love this version so much.
I'm a huge fan...
This might be the best version I've ever heard of this (I like Moravec playing practically anything). Lortie and De Larrocha are also excellent.
Excepcional, muitos timbres, dinâmicas. Interpretação mais rica que de jean Yves que é muito boa.
His playing shimmers, which for me is just the best...
What a pretty version!!!
Magic.
Moravec est exceptionnel dans le toucher.
A true marvel
