Something else to note about his ultimate is that any allies that stand in the circle where you are landing, but not teleporting, will also receive a shield when Horus lands. Honestly, this has most of what a new player would need to start playing him. A lot of really helpful advice! Well done, Duke! Some things I would like to mention from my testing if it can help anybody; You can actually use Updraft into Fracture, then use the gust auto afterwards to confirm CC on somebody if you absolutely cannot let them escape. You will get quite a bit less damage, and they will be stunned for less due to DR, but without CC Immunity, the opponent cannot escape until the stun ends. This is why I think Shield of Regrowth and Bhumba's Mask are so important on him so he can get in and out very smoothly, which you pointed out! Berserkers' Shield seemed really promising at the start, but the more and more I used it, the less and less I actually liked it. I think Gladiators' Shield can be a lot more helpful, just due to the stats it gives him. The extra Defense and CDR can help a lot, whereas even though he has a lot of downtime, I think the Attack Speed is just not as helpful. Also, something else to note, is that Berserkers' Sheild's Heal counts as if you have a Cleave Auto, so it is a lower amount past the first hit. Golden Blade is also interesting, but I do not feel like it helps him enough, or as you said, can fit into a build properly. An alternative which I actually really enjoy is Transcendence. It helps his weak clear, and gives him stats he wants, CDR and Mana, as well as actually allowing him to be quite threatening later on. I've started rushing it after Guardian's Blessing, and so far it's been working out quite nicely. I apologise for my rambling. A really well done guide overall, Duke! Thank you for always being there to educate people!
Super big combo in a team fight and is really unexpected is to use your 2 -> 1 combo of course then to 3 to an ally and immediately ult. You're not constantly damaging or soaking up damage but to teleport your whole team or give those who are in the fight a shield once you land is amazing and your abilities are back up by then. My favorite build is Talaria boots, breastplate of valor, oni hunters garb, masemune, talasmin of energy, void shield. Oni hunters and masemune are great together, the closer you are to enemies the more protections and mitigations you get. Talasmin of energy because of its passive over other items. More movement speed is great for his whole kit. Juking so your passive goes off during a fight, getting closer to land your 2, and repositioning the 2nd hit of your two is amazing when you stun and fly behind them during the animation and use your 1 for insane body blocking. Also teleport a hedes into the enemy team, or land on the enemy team when the hedes blinks and starts his ult. They get knocked up and pulled closer every time. They can't beads it either if they're knocked up. Super tanksly feels like he doesn't provide enough setup. Within the short amount of time you have the enemy team under cc the low damage just doesn't seem worth to me. Idk.
Nice video! I like to build horus with hydra's lamet and golden blade, it gives him really high burst damage to gods and a lot of lane-clear. It just makes him really versatile.
I saw the video for the most part, and I've played him a lot. His only viable roles right now are support and jungle. In solo lane, he can't ever clear and just gets locked in lane unless he loses farm making a rotation. As far as jungle you may be asking, how is he viable? Horus has an interesting interaction with hydra's lament that greatly increases his damage output. I did the math and the auto he gets immediately after the knockup scales for 450% of his basic attack damage with hydra's. If you get rangda's mask, the scaling is 540%. With just those 2 items and warrior tabi, at lvl 12 with a maxed 1 and 2, his combo does roughly 1400 damage. From that point on, his combo one shots you. An easy to hit heavy cc chain that one shots you sounds pretty viable in the jungle if you ask me. If it isn't, I want to hear your input on it DukeSloth.
Your discovery with Hydra's is nothing new, I talked about this in one of the first videos I made about Horus. Your scaling is calculated very strangely though, I have no idea how you got to that value. Both Horus knockup amplifier and Hydra's basic amplifier are 1.5, meaning the total damage is 225% as they're multiplicative. If the scaling was 540%, Horus could oneshot pretty much every squishy in the game with only the 1. I've played Horus jungle a bit and yes, he has decent burst potential. In the vast majority of situations however, his combo will not oneshot. You also have the significant downside of not being able to AA cancel after the 2 in most situations unless the enemy has no mobility. Overall, Horus typically doesn't bring as much to the table as more classic junglers. His cooldowns are too long, his burst is not enough and his ult is too risky for the jungle. He's a fun pick to play there anyways, but not a viable one in my eyes.
@@DukeSloth I read the ability and it explicitly states it adds +100% scaling to your next basic attack, so that goes up to 200% basic attack power on the ranged auto. Then you multiply it with Hydra's to get 300%. Afterwards, take that value and multiply it by the knockup bonus, you get to 450%. Then multiply that with Rangda's bonus and you get to 540%. Keep in mind it's not physical power, but basic attack power, which gets mitigated harder than physical power.
Since Runeforged Hammer doesn’t apply extra damage on knock ups like you mentioned, but what about Gust damage from 2nd hit? It has a slow cc and is considered a basic attack (I could be wrong with this but it consumes Hydra’s Lament buff). Maybe it’ll work with Frostbound Hammer too with his 2nd hit? 🤔
Justin Anderson best thing I can think is to use it for aggressive rotations. Clear wave and ult to mid or a jungle camp where things are happening. Not very good for solo queue but you could make it work
Hey Dukesloth! I want your opinion on a build for Horus i ve been having quite some fun with: i start tank ( or warriors blessing for more aggresive), then valor, dmg boots, genjis, void shield, ancile or runic, and then sell blessing for whatever the match needs ( sometimes i even go hydras on him which makes his combo shred). I play all the maps except Conq, so this is not a solo lane build, more of a beefy and slightly aggresive playstyle. Beads and shell is what i would usually get for relics. He is so mobile that he fits a hit and run style so i play him a bit like Da Ji as long as we have a tank! 😅 let me know your thoughts and keep up the amazing work!
It's not getting a buff. It just shifts earlier in fights at 75% Well there isn't a direct buff to its stats. I like using masemune on him instead because it gives a constant 50. 15 less than full hp with shifters, and can give up to 35 protections when surrounded by 5 enemy gods. Also being able to move faster to get your 2 off is amazing. Especially since casting it you still move forward.
@@xRagingxDemonx I mean from the standpoint of a tank I think that is a buff because you don't have to be as low to get the bonus protections. I guess buff isn't the right word but rather change.
