Angelina singing barefoot is most definitely not her "gimmick". There is a very important reason she sings barefoot, and it is just one of the examples of her amazing character....
*Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the bigest stage n the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That take a special kind of person.

Wow! Such an amazing young woman! I did not know the story behind her singing barefoot. That's beautiful & touching and you're right...it does show her character...to keep a promise you made at 6 yrs old is so incredible. That kind of promise at 6 yrs old is rare enough, but to keep that kind of promise is unbelievable. 99.99% of the world's population could never claim to hold to any promise they made at the age of 6. Just wow!!! Whether she wins or not (idk if she did or not) this young lady will be going places. No doubt...she be extremely successful & it will be well deserved.

- Angelina Jordan's voice has been known to be habit forming. When you finish listening to a song, you may be compelled to repeat it... many times.
- Angelina may ruin other singer for you. Once you get used to the rich tone and subtle details of Angelina's voice, other singers might seem a little flat and lacking emotion.

That is true Rusty, many great singers, have become less important to me because Angelina simply outshines everything and sometimes makes the currently greatest singers of our time look like background singers alongside Angelina.

Thanks for that well deserved promo for the Barefoot princess of song, she certainly is deserving of that and more. In my opinion this was not an audition this was Angelina's coming out mini concert to the rest of the world that has not had the honor to witness her vocal artistry. She owns the stage the minute she steps on it. The bare footed princess of song has entered the building... Angelina's opening phrase just mesmerizers and masterfully commands everyone's full silence and awe of her vocal artistry. She has fulfilled her stated dream when she 6 years old of becoming a super star , however, she has now gone way beyond that and has now become a Jazz singing living legend barely starting her teenage years of life.

This song is one of my favourit Elton John songs. Angelina is a very brave young girl of 13 in this competition who dare to sing queen and Elton John. They must be just as proud as I am (norwegian as I am). She has earned a place in my heart, and I will let her have it. I LOVE THIS REACTION TO HER SINGING.♥️
Indeed, _Brave_ is the word .. or courageous, which was my first thought when I heard the opening phrase of Bohemian Rhapsody as the show aired and no one knew what song to expect from her.

Angelina never ceases to amaze me with her musicality, especially with her most recent vocal masterpieces in AGT-C. Both with minimal, soft backing (acoustic guitar or piano) & her orchestral voice that just mesmerizes me. I've been an Angelina "Angel" for a couple of years & have watched everything I can find on youtube, most many, many times. For those that have just discovered her on AGT-C, this is only a tiny fraction of what she can sing & do vocally. This is her highly emotive, breathy, velvet-smooth voice. She has many more voices & styles that you will only see if you watch her 125+ covers & 3 originals across all genre that she has done from 7-13 yo . She always does her own arrangements & sometimes they are totally different from the original. Her library is massive & much if it is just Angelina singing in her house in front of a good mic with an acoustic guitarist or backing track, while Mom or Grandma film Angelina doing her "hobby." Her concerts are astounding because she feeds off the audience My favorite concerts are her with a small jazz band where she can sing what she feels & they follow whatever she does, it's just magic. BTW, "It's Magic" is the name of her 2018 CD, which everyone should buy, & it has 2 of her originals, What Is Life & Oslo.

Simon required for her to sign an exclusive contract with his company, in order for her to win AGT, and she gave her answer with this song. If you look closely, you'll notice she is wearing a t-shirt with a picture of her as a child, when she won Norway GT. when she begins to sing, she gives him a glance and clearly he got the message, hence his stone cold face. Yellow brick road is a metaphor for a road of richness that I'm sure he (Simon) was proposing, and she obviously said no, so "Good bye Yellow Brick Road." Absolute genius.

It's not what we in Norway eat, it's the magical clear water. 🤗 I see others have commented about why she perform barefoot, so she gets a 10 on personality as well. She will be a power house when she grow up, and because her parents are very caring and nurturing, and frankly very smart, they have said no to several big record companies and to Disney and have not sign the standard AGT contract, because they want Angelina to have control over her own carer when the time come for her really to go for it.

I don't know about winning this but she won Norway's got talent age 7/8. There are well over hundreds of covers, rehearsals, etc. She started singing jazz at 18 months. There is video of her in bed with her mike. She studies three instruments but I've seen her playing guitar, too. She is from a multicultural family and speaks three languages
Remember, she is Norwegian, English is not her first lanuage. At 12 she wrote and released three original songs. She has an album of originals due out around Easter. She has published a book she wrote and her grandmother illustrated. It explains why she is barefoot when she performs. All this before 13.
These two songs from Champions are not her only singing sounds. She can sing a Winehouse sound for a Winehouse song. She can sing like Elvis, like Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, etc and many genres. You have to listen to her to appreciate the depth and breadth of her talent.

On second thought, AGT the Champions is a pre-recorded CIRCUS where the only one who does not belong there is ANGELINA ASTAR Jordan. She was thirteen for Bohemian Rhapsody,, put turned 14 the nest week. January 10. In Norway's Got Talent, in 2014, likewise she turned 8 in the midst of the competition.

Angelina was 13 on all three AGT 2020 songs. And I haven't seen you watch her version of "I put a spell on you" at 9 years old. Make sure it's the black and white version ,, she arranged this and also changed the lyrics to be more age appropriate,, also she changed all the lyrics on Amy Winehouse cover of Back to Black

Her grandmother is/was a popular Iranian artist/singer. Angelina's mother apperently grew up in Norway. Her mother is married to a swedish guy.

I commented on the first video I saw of Bohemian Rhapsody that all artists would be running scared if she covered their songs because she has ability and authenticity.

Before I say anything about your reaction, I will tell you that the audio and video signal quality of your post is about as good as I have seen and heard! It made such a difference to listen to Angelina's voice (with earphones). That being said, you have become one of my top five reactors to anything, but especially Angelina! I feel that you get the emotional content as much as the technical side of her performances. I am 77 years old, and I hope I get to live long enough to hear what this young woman will perform in 5 to 10 years from now. I get an emotional rush unlike anything I have experienced since hearing Yellow Brick Road in 1974, and Bohemian Rhapsody in the late 80's. There have been others, of course, but the emotional content of the performances were flat compared to that of Angelina. So thank you for your heartfelt reaction...I look forward to more!

Please react to another exceptional Norwegian artist, the magical Aurora. She is the voice of the secret siren in Frozen II and will be performing with Idina Menzel at the Academy Award tonight. Aurora is a different kind of artist, choosing to use her platform to give her audience a catalyst for their feelings and to see beauty in themselves and in others. She writes her own music, plays several of the instruments on her studio versions and also produce. I suggest her performance of Runaway at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert, she wrote the song in 1 hour when she was 11 years old.
Aurora and Angelina has very different voices, but both are instantaneously recognizable. Angelina's voice is a hot wind heavily scented with spices, blowing over the dessert sand on a moonlit night, while Aurora's voice is the sparkle as the sun hits the water, glinting so strong it almost blinds you and create rainbows on your retinas.

As you would expect, there have been a plethora of posts regarding Angelina and Marcelito. Personally, I prefer Angelina. Since she was a child, she has been accepting of her gift with a calm assurance. Never the slightest trace of ego or histrionics. Not easily flattered and a down to earth demeanor. Whether she is selected or not as a winner is unimportant. Indeed, if there are any winners, it is us, her audience. We delight in listening to her and rejoice for her future.

It is not important that she have won the AGTtC, that is a show governed by economic convenience and rightly the his family has not accepted to tie she up under contract, but the show was a springboard from which she could make herself known to millions of people, from now on it will be able to grow at its own pace.

There are speculations that she didn't win, but there's been no official announcement. That'll be in the final show, which is on Monday, February 17th. Winning isn't really that important, though. The 1st prize is $25,000, a shiny trophy, and bragging rights. She'll get by without any of that. The point of the contest is to get exposure.
4:03 I don't know what her parents have fed her, but it's definitely what I've been eating my whole life, which is pretty much standard Norwegian fare. I think we may all have to accept that there's no path for us mortals to reach the heights of Angelina's talent...

I've been following Angelina for quite a few years now,she won a talent contest in Norway when she was 7 years old, and she is been covering different things for years. And you are so correct she is so hypnotic, she is just so beyond her years, she's just angelic when it comes to listening to her. As for her performing barefoot, when she was 6 years old, she was walking througha place with her grandma, and came across a little girl her age, that was begging in the streets,in freezing conditions, she said she had cuts and sores on her feet, and ended up taking off her shoes, and giving them to the little girl. So now every time she performs, she does this gesture as a reminder.

I give you a hint. AGT have usually not posted pre-videos of the finale for the eventual winners. We've got them for both Angelina and Marcelito now. There are some rumours out there about the results. We won't know for sure until the final show is aired. Until that time we can hope the rumours are not true.
She is still a winner for me because she got the exposure she wanted and was able to show the world how good she is. Winning AGTtC is not a requirement to become a superstar. She and Marcelito both got a lot of new fans because of their participation.

Angelina also altered her singing slightly for AGTtC. She added several runs which she rarely does normally. Personally I prefer it pure and simple. However, I understand why she did it. Many reactors comment particularly on the runs she made. Most loved these.
The runs seem to be the wow creators. To me the wow is from the arrangement and the emotions she puts into her performances. She has a naturally beautiful voice

This is not the regular AGT Summer show. This is AGT - The Champions where winners of and finalists from "Got Talent" franchises around the world are invited to compete. The show was taped last October, so the winner is known and has been leaked, but it did not appear on TV until January 6, 2020 and isn't over yet on TV. Angelina is barefoot because when she was 6 traveling in another country she met a 6 year old girl on the street who had a bathroom scale and would weigh people for money. She was barefoot and it was cold. Angelia gave her her shoes, and the girl said she would pray for Angelina. Angelina honors all the children in the world who have no shoes, food, or parents, and honors that little girl by singing barefoot in public, and says she thinks about that girl every day. She has been singing barefoot since age 6. Angelina wrote a book about it at age 10, making her the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina and her family moved to the U.S in 2018 and she now lives in L.A.

Eve you must know by now Angelina has been removed from AGT and not allowed to compete.
I believe Simon and AGT could not get her under contract to exploit her for profit as they would like, so she was removed from the show.
This is (just my view) from what I have learned.
"Brunost" (brown goat cheese) and "Lutefisk" (lye fish) is some of the things we eat here in Norway. But I doubt that make anyone sing like Angelina :)
One thing I hear so many say about Angelina is that she has an old soul of the old generations of jazz singers from the 1930-50 era. I think that is the only way to describe her voice. This song have gone on repeat since it came out here at my house.

She performs barefoot because she met a little 6 year old girl living in the streets in Iran that was barefoot. She promised the little girl that she was going to perform barefoot until all the children in the world have shoes. She gave the little girl her shoes. The little Iranian girl promised that she would pray for her. Angelina has kept her promise since she met the little Iranian girl. She continues to perform barefooted in rememberance of her promise to the little Iranian girl. This is a tear jerking moment as I am writing this explanation.
