That Mongoose/Porcupine exhibit is one of my favourite Planet Zoo exhibits I've ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous

Amazing build. I really like the invisible and natural barriers and how the enclosure are looking like one big exibit.

Your animals had some impeccable timing while you were showing off the habitats, especially the zebras and African wild dogs through the windows. All of your tips about sightlines and drawing your guests to certain exhibits are super helpful! Can't wait for the next episode ❤

Thank you so much :D I'm probably going to continue the series in this fashion, where I start by showing of what I've build and then explain the "science" behind it as it seems people really enjoy it!

This zoo feels so familiar, even though it is a brand new series. I felt like there was a memory of myself walking around an African zoo section coming back to me, when I watched this, and that is really an indication of, how good you are at putting stuff like this together.

This is a massive compliment and one that is going to influence the direction of the zoo going forward. Thank you so much Bert, I appreciate it a lot!

The thing about trying to make African architecture in this game without just a bunch of mud huts is that when you google image search “African architecture” it’s all just mud huts.

Luckily there are more zoos out there that are doing different things! Sedgewick, Animal Kingdom, Beekse Bergen, Planckendael, etc. to name a few.
My next project will feature a village much more inspired by the architecture used there 😉

@@Iben thanks for the pointers, I’m debating doing a massive overhaul on my African section so I’ll have to check those zoos out for inspiration.

Great work Iben, I'm looking forward to see what the future of this zoo holds,, and of course, it's deserving of an Australian National Anthem
    Australians all let us rejoice
For we are one and free
We've golden soil and wealth for toil
Our home is girt by sea
Our land abounds in nature's gifts
    Of beauty, rich and rare
In history's page let every stage
    Advance Australia fair
In joyful strains then let us sing
    Advance Australia fair
    Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We'll toil with hearts and hands
To make this Commonwealth of ours
    Renowned of all the lands
For those who've across the seas
    We've boundless plains to share
With courage let us all combine
    To advance Australia fair
In joyful strains then let us sing
    Advance Australia fair

The village is great!! It looks like the perfectly realistic way a zoo would create a village such as this, really also like the view point for the zebra exhibit!
(I SWEAR I wrote the next part before you started talking about THIS EXACT ZOO :D ) There is a zoo in Germany called "Zoom" that has an African section and they actually start you out with a village that is more of a jungle kind of village, I just felt like mentioning it, because I've just always loved them for going a different route with it!
What is the floor made off by the way? I can't figure it out :D faux rocks, decals and temple pieces is my guess :D
    ALSO PUPPIES 🥰🥰
No seriously, this is like an inofficial tutorial on view-points, just wow 💛

    • @Iben
      @Iben  Год назад

Thank you so much :D I might actually take a look at how they've done their jungle village, as I'd love to use that for the rainforest section of this area.
The paths were indeed a mix of the temple pieces, grunge and moss decals!
