Nice! That was almost soothing to watch…! Looking forward to seeing more. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent video. Please yes show the rest or as much as you can show as I know its difficult doing the job and filming. I checked the part number on the slave box, it is a top quality aftermarket as genuine slave cylinders are no longer serviced by Jaguar.
Thanks for the video Adam please show more build videos.
Will do!
Hi Adam. Good job. It will be interested to follow the rest. 😊
More to come!
You're either brave or crazy, doing that by yourself.
An amazing project. That will be a driver's car.
That was nerve racking, but well done with your patience 🏆
I’m glad you enjoyed it
Adam, well done. I also had chance to visit UK and I stopped by the Simply Performance team.
Great work and very nice video of the engine installation.
They're great at Simply Performance!
Great job!
Thanks!
Hey Adam, Glad you got the engine back in . looking forward to next video on your XJC rebuild.. GN
Thanks for watching!
When I did an XK engine swap on my Series 2 Xj6 I hired a man with JCB 3CX to do the lift out and then got a friend of mine with his truck to lift the engine back in using the mounted Hiab crane on the back of his truck. At the time, I had no garage and was doing all the work outside here in the UK and the Jaguar was parked on a gently sloping drive so no chance of using a manual engine crane.
I still have my XJ6 Series 2 Lwb but its in pieces for a full resotration one day when funds permit. Later this year, I will hit 35yrs of owning that car. As kid walking to school, any garage with a Jaguar for sale in it was like a massive magnet. Our local authorised dealer had a brand new XJS V12 HE in the showroom in a beautiful shiny black and a Series 3 XJ6 4.2 also in black. In the used section was Series 2 XJ6 in the same colour as the XJC in your video. Excellent video young man, bringing back memories again for me!
Yes, let’s see the rest! Nice installation!
Coming soon!
That was great Adam and yes I want to see the rest of it exciting times for you I think best regards Andy Allen.
Excellent result Adam . We wouldn't expect anything less ! 😊😊😊
Thanks John!
Sure we want to see more of this car . Greetings
Awesome
What a lovely car, with good upgrades. Big shout out to doing that engine install by yourself. Yes, more on this car please. Great video, really enjoyed, thanks. :)
Thanks for watching!
Nice job! Looking forward to more on the XJC.
More to come!
Very nicely slotted in. Looking forward to seeing more of this build.
Thanks!
Love the car. I would like to see more of this car.
More to come!
Yes continue the build
Beautiful XJC, greeting from Long Beach California. I have an XJC as well but not yet in restoration phase like yours.
It is! Not mine, a customer car. Mine is unrestored and has been sitting for decades. I hope to get to it soon.
@LivingWithAClassic are you converting it to a manual transmission?
@@LivingWithAClassicXJ-S first ! 😊
@johnmoruzzi7236 oh yes
Great! I'm sure Adam's little dog was of great help, for being a good shop assistant! :)
She sure was!
Congrats! That's a huge step forward in re-assembling that XJC. It will be a real fun car with a fuel injected XK engine and manual trans.
Thanks!
Greetings from Lake Tahoe, USA. Hey, that’s a great job. Glad to see you succeeded. And it went pretty quick overall compared to what could’ve happened. Very smooth and I would love to see more videos.
It helps that I have installed a few before. The first one many years ago did not go this smoothly. Thanks for watching!
@ for sure. doing the engine on my classic truck we had to have two people standing on the back of the hoist because the engine weighed so much/had to be out so far. Have a great rest of the weekend.
Thank you too!
The car is looking great, better than new!
Thanks!
Great work as always Adam. Car is looking great. All that engine needs is a serpentine belt upgrade and it would look awesome. Well done. Cheers.
Thanks!
Hi Adam, great project..the XJC is a classic piece of styling and a beautiful car. I don't know if you've seen Harry's Garage on his XJC, but it's a wonderful guide for you...please do not put a vynil roof on it 🤞❗️Best of luck with it. 👍😊‼️
It’s not mine, it’s a customer car. Mine is white with a V12.
Customer what’s a vinyl top I like them too. They suit that car
So much easier when you can use a leveler when installing engines compared to tie down straps 😂
Haha yes but not as exciting!
With my MKII I removed the front sub-frame and lifted the engine into the bay a LOT easier.
That's probably how the factory did it!
Adam. The hottest part of the flame is at the tip of the blue, not the middle.
I spy a Swedish doggo in the background
Hello. Thank you to share your experiences and best practices! Very precious. I will remove my 4.2 also, with like yours, manual gear box. Do you know approximately the weight of this assembly? Thank you. Hopping new videos. Best regards from France!
I owned a 1978 XJC that I bought in 1985 it was British racing green manual with overdrive never liked the manual so sold it and bought an XJ6 4.2 automatic like that colour of green my mate had one that colour in the early eighties he also had a XJ6 in a powder blue colour with black leather they will never build another car like the XJ6
Fantastic! Please tell me you're fitting Kent wheels.......and the obligatory vinyl roof. 😀 But not the awful US style side mouldings.
I'm doing everything the customer wants. It will get fresh Kent wheels and a black vinyl roof.
@@LivingWithAClassic The perfect XJ6 is being built!
😊❤️👍👏
How much does the engine and transmission weigh? Looks very precarious in the air but you did a great job getting it in
Probably 300-350 kg all in. Maybe a little less
@ you are the Arnold Schwarzenegger of engine installation!
Awsome video I am currently doing a 12c and love the mechanical videos what is the gear box and would it fit a 12
Once again keep up the resto videos
Thanks for your dedication
Sadly it won’t fit a V12. It’s an LT77 that was an option on early series 3 XJ6
Thank you I am looking at a t5 or an Toyota r15 but the bell housing are hard to find
what colour is that, thought you saidgrey but looks more green or gold on my screens
Fern Grey is the name of the color. It is a bit like an olive green color.
@@LivingWithAClassic is that a period correct jaguar color? Looks awesome.
This color looks a bit sad to me, but hey, it's the owner's choice...
@@RickCT2000 From Sydney, Australia, YES PERIOD correct, Introduced with the long wheelbase series 1's in October 1972 and available until the series 2 update in late 1976 when the short wheelbase cars coupe and sedan were dropped. Also there was a similar "more" green color called Juniper green that was added at same time. Juniper green lived on as a choice until series3 introduction.
I prefer Fern Grey it's such a reserved discreet color and it could be had with Brown, Tan, Beige or Biscuit leather. When the series 2 came along and Jag's could be ordered with bri-nylon interior trim a Juniper green car could be had with a FULL Juniper green interior, door cards, seats and carpet, a friend has such a car a late long wheelbase series 3 xj6 & it is somewhat overpowering.
