Meet The Andromeda: The Galaxy Eater

The Andromeda Galaxy is the nearest spiral galaxy to the Milky Way. It has been a constant source of curiosity and observation since decades. Astronomers have tried to peek deeper and deeper to the giant spiral galaxy, and we are discovering many interesting things about it. Currently, it is at a distance of 2.48 million light years from our planet, and is believed to collide with the Milky Way in about 4 billion years. The collision between the Milky Way and the Andromeda will be a gigantic event in the region of local group of galaxies.
