Good morning Arnie and Lynn. The moving of the sheep for their beauty appointment. Yay. 😀 Max and Ben are so happy getting to move the sheep. Ben has got the idea. Wow. She leaped from a standing start. Olympic material. 😂😂😂😂😂. I tell you Angels face is like a true angel. And big Betty is a doll. She really is the matriarch of the group. She earned her retirement for sure. Now the moving of all the beauty’s. Showing off how great they look and off to the field to graze. I had a fantastic time watching how wonderful the sheep look and seeing the pets is some of the fun. I would say their spa day was a complete success. Great work all. I WASN'T expecting the Suffolk ewe to jump out of the shoot at 4:55 like that Scared me for a second thought she was going to break her leg these are some big ewes weight wise I'm surprised she was able to jump it honestly glad she's ok, I guess expect the unexpected haha another Awesome video Lynn....!!!! 🐑🖤🧡🤍

Yes, you have to be very skilled and strong to be a shearer especially with the sizes and numbers we have!
Yes! Shearing is finally happening! Ben and max seem to be doing a great job.shearing looks like really hard work.I bet all of the sheep will just love having their wool off! I think all the ewes look outstanding! Some look like they weigh close to 300 pounds i would say! Now that is a big girl!!!! Beautiful girls!

Aha: Rastafarian look is out. Crew Cuts are IN! Shearing is very physically demanding. As a farrier friend once told me: "There are a lot of easier ways to make a living, than working with your head lower than your arse all day!" Now Arnie... About that pony tail? 🤔

Wonderful to see Jacob shearing! The ladies must feel amazing after getting all that wool off. Aw, Big Betty has such an adorable face and expression. Just love her! Angel, Cammy, Nibbles and Hot Lips all looked fantastic afterwards. Lynn, your sheep are in terrific shape after lambing and raising their babies. Great evidence of how well you and Arnie care for your stock. On a side note, who was Cammy’s dad? Was he a bigger than usual ram? 🥰
I can't remember who Cammy's dad is. I know her mom well and she is a stocky medium sized ewe. I will have to find out who her dad is because she has turned into a monster ewe!😅

Yeh that’s why Sandy is doing all the yarn products using their farm’s wool.
Shepherds used to have money left over after they paid the shearers. Then they just gave the wool to the shearers and let them get the best price they could for it. Now shepherds lose money on shearing because the money they get for the wool doesn’t cover the shearers’ pay.
Exception for merinos and possibly other breeds raised for specialty wool.
Question: on the average, how long does it take a shearer to shear a sheep? Just curious. Thanks.
Jacob is very fast. He takes about 3 minutes/sheep tops, I would guess. Maybe 2 minutes.
