You guys are definitely got it together over there and I just love how this mills produces lumber and I couldn't help but notice the Maine state flag, keep up the good work men from all of us over here at Grand Lake Steam.
Worked at CSX railroad on the tracks for 28 years. Started out with pick and shovel and worked my way up to driving track spikes with a 10 lb spike maul. Love watching your videos. Not as good a shape as I once was. Due to being 72 years old and suffering the effects of agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your crew. PS Johnny fudge is an alias.
I've been watching your channel for a little while now and I finally subscribed. I can now see what my Grandfather and his brothers were talking about when I was a very little kid. I can remember their sawmill was powered by a Case steam engine for a time.
Great job Mark wasn't sure there was enough meat on that bone.now gotta watch nuts to see what he is cooking, great to see you too working together.thanks for the video
Greetings from SC... on one of your videos you talked about your cab window needing to be cleaned... Try using Rainex to clean and coat the glass... hope it helps you. 🙏🙏🙏 God Bless
I worked for an old carpenter that hated getting 6x6 and 4x4s with heart center, he would come unglued if he saw one on his job site. I understand why, they just go to h*ll after a while. With that log, you just didn't have a choice but to give the customer what he wanted with that log. You would've been lucky to give him a 4x4 free-of-heart center with that dog-legged log.
2 questions; 1: since it was so crookered will it crack from stress? 2: What are all them thar ''off-cut'' in front, to the left, leaning up agin the wall where ZZ is?
That’s what I do with bananas, make 6x6 or 4x4 as anything else only ends up being banana lumber. Shorter videos is always good, they give everyone one their daily fix of sawdust in a few minutes.
@@markgalicic7788 also commonly known here in Wisconsin as tamarack...the deciduous evergreen. In fall, its needles turn a golden color, then looses its needles in spring when new needle growth emerges. Where I live in the southern part of the state, seldom see these trees, but central and northern , common, in more damp/wet ecosystems. Thank you Mark!
I don’t understand why if you’re sawing a 6”x 6” rough cut you finish it out at 5 1/2”x 5 1/2”. Not that I’ve bought much rough cut lumber before, but when I bought a 1”x 6” boards, that’s what it was or even a little bigger. I subscribe and watch most all your videos (I love watching them) and this isn’t the first time you cut undersized. 🤷♂️ Just wondering.
What a great little video. A beautiful 6x6 timber manufactured from a crooked, low-grade log! Mark, you really know how to make lemons into lemonade!
thanks Randall.

Very nice Mark. I like, you can’t put it back.

Did Pete indicate what he plans on using the beam for? Don’t recall him mentioning any specific plans for such an item.
not sure what he is doing.
