Thanks, Mark. Always good to get genuine reviews of gear. It's an outer waterproof layer I really need to get for future wet walks. My old (6 or 7 years old) Berghaus jacket with zip-in fleece has a duff pocket zip and snagged on brambles last week. Time for a change.Suggestions welcomed! Take care!
Looks like a good bit of kit Mark 👍 I bought a fleece lined full zip hoodie with a ripstop outer shell more than 10 yrs ago and it immediately turned out to be my favorite 😉 So much so that I went back and bought a second one before they sold out 😜 Mine had a hem cord which I've replaced with a 1/8" nylon shock cord 👍 You might be able to sneak a cord into your hem 👍 TFS
Naturally, I've had to make minor repairs on it over the years tho 😜 I even used to do construction work wearing it 😲 But I'm still using it now, it's the first thing I grab to put on going out the door 👍 I've even put water repellant on it too, so it does well in light showers 😉 Ripstop holds up really well 👍 Doing well Mark , thanks for asking, your looking well guy 👍 L8tr
I just sat and listened Mark. I know of Ridgeline but have never bought any of their gear. I may change that in the future. I gotta say I find Smocks a bit faffy without the full zip - maybe they have another version. Well, enjoyed your front room - nice and cozy. Have a good one. Mark
Hi Mark; glad you enjoyed the 🔥 fire, put an extra log on it just for you guys. I really like Ridgeline gear; good quality but not stupid prices. More bushcraft than pure hiking as their gear tends to run warm and they’ve worked hard on improving the breathability of their kit recently I understand. Yes agree with you ; Smocks can be a tad faffy getting them on and off; but the side vents help with this and the ventilation. Lots of snow ❄️ in the forecast for tomorrow; I bet you’ll get a load down your way. Back out tomorrow for my local daily 3 mile exercise walk. Have a good week. ATB Mark.
@@MarksGoneWalking Yeah it was a nice tough Mark. Yeah I'm sure they are working hard on their product range. Seems like they're heading in the right direction. I can see how side vents help - less tight on the pullover and yeah good vents. Well, we've had some hard snow fall but for only an hour or so - gone by the afternoon. Hopefully it will stick around. Have a good walk.
I’v got a Ridgeline pintail explorer Jacket and was out in the rain a few days ago for the first time and did notice the water wasn’t really beading up and running off the jacket my personal opinion is they could do with a bit more of Nick wax on their jackets
Hi Lee - useful feedback; the material does act in a different way to a traditional waterproof I usually use for walking - yes I know what you mean 🤔 I might look at their performance Range next time I’m in the market for a coat. I’m sure they would be interested to hear any feedback you have that might improve their products. Thanks one again for the comments and for supporting the Channel. I might do a 12 month review on this coat . ATB Mark.
Hi Max - yes it’s really keeping me well insulated; it’s cold 🥶 over here at the moment (by our standards) and it’s really doing the trick. Ridgeline are a New Zealand Hunting / Outdoor Range - used a lot over here by the farming and bushcraft community. Hope things are good with you - I bet you’ve got some serious winter ❄️ weather going on right now. ATB Mark.
@@MarksGoneWalking Thanks for the info! Except what snow we got in OCT and NOV all the snow has been in the mountains... The cold more than anything else curtails my winter excursion to the bare minimum because of my knees and lungs... It sucks getting old..
Great review! I have a buffalo mountain shirt and I'm looking for a smock that is a little more suited to slightly warmer weather (autumn etc...) do you think this is comparable to the buffalo active lite at all? Thanks!
Hi Steven - only seen a full Buffalo and this is definitely lighter. Tend to keep with me so I can put it on if I get cold of top of a mountain 🏔 Good luck with your choice 👍

Thanks, Mark. For reference to your sizing, I was wondering what height/weight you are/was!? 3 years ago 😂
Height 5 7 and weight 11 stone - size medium. Thanks for watching. ATB Mark.

@@MarksGoneWalking I would be definitely interested in a 12 month review on the jacket
