  • You don’t necessarily have to take off your carb on your Harley Davidson Dyna when changing jets and shim needle in the tuning process.

What does the jet needle affect? I just had my factory carb rebuilt and a new jet put in it over the winter.
I bought this Dyna last year in May and did nothing to her except put oil and gas in her and rode 26,000 miles with ZERO issues.
A local shop did my work over the winter and now the carb sounds and feels like she's backfiring and or gasping at times and it jerks my Scoot when she does.
My plugs are white, running lean, correct? This shop, every time I call says it's because it's cold out and that the motor is cold also.
It's a stock motor and I'm running Vance and Hines short shot pipes with no baffles..
    Someone help me, please?!
My Daddy was my go to on this but he passed away 13 years ago.

Yes, sounds like it’s too lean. Jet needle affects 1/4 to 3/4 throttle.
Maybe they messed around the pilot screw..
what exactly did they do on the carb, do you know? Did they change anything or they just took it apart to clean it?

In reality just unplug the fuel line turn the carburetor 180 degrees you can basically leave the gas tank untouched
