Great podcast. Always love listening to Dougie Hall speak. He is “Good medicine”.
What a wonderful attitude
Omg ❤❤❤❤❤ Two of the very best. my favorite bull fighter and Doug
I just recently learned about Dougie Hall and he’s a really fun guy to listen to. I agree when he says unhappy people concentrate on the wrong things.
I enjoy everything Doug has said, and I started writing down his sayings and when the shit is about to hit the fan, I repeat this to myself because it makes me laugh " Proper prior preparation prevents piss poor performance." It hasn't saved me from having a catastrophe but it seems to soothe the pain. Thank you both for being "good medicine".
Dougie is my favorite Indian, got a lot of common sense.
When I was down the U-Haul help me pick my spirits up

Come say hello to us at the mountain JC in Scottsdale. RAndy Romero
No matter your ethnicity, humans aren’t ideally supposed to eat so much starch and sugar. Harsh winters require people to store grain or else die so many different foods are a blessing and gift, but at least those times those people were rationing food, and it didn’t really taste good either. the art of making good baked goods also is a blessing but having so much good tasting bread, and not having to risk getting stung by bees, just jars of honey in the closet, its too much for any human. Humans aren’t supposed to be as omnivore as a bear, again for survival you eat what’s at opportunity but habitually its bad, for anyone not just Natives
Not sure headdresses are offensive really other than a lot of stuff is goofy from 70s and 80s, campy. I can’t speak for anyone as i’m white but Navajo friends I have and grew up with we all thought the goofy stuff was acceptable when we were kids and now with all the information available it just is cheezy. Also stuff is cheezy when its a few decades old, other than music and cars. I have Navajo friends who are Chiefs fans, probably more Chiefs fans then Redskins fans, most are Broncos or Cowboys fans to but i’ve never heard them get angry about the sports teams. A Navajo lady friend of mine who is world renown in Navajo fashion, (Navajo Spirit Fashion shameless plug) she told me about these far off companies putting Native designs on undergarments and swimsuits and she was bothered by that, and I agreed thats a bit weird!
Respect goes a long way and a lot of the gawdy campy or outright cartoonish stuff in just bad! Navajo trucking for instance wth their logo, I mean it’s not hardcore cartoonish but a little bit and therefore weird I guess? She also doesn’t look Navajo just generic and the bright blue eyes is odd, not saying there aren’t Natives with blue eyes but brown eyes are just as if not more beautiful so why blue eyes on the portrayal? Maybe even don’t have a figurine for a logo on a truck seriously just weird, have a symbol like a wheel or hogan or something unique and with honor.
