  • We took the new Cub Cadet XT1 riding mower for a spin and got a walk-through from Cub Cadet product managers. The mower steered like a dream despite my poor cornering technique. The seat was very comfortable and the controls were easy to manage.
    You can buy the Cub Cadet XT1 mower on Amazon.

    We recently bought a pre-owned 2021 CC XT1 / LT46" (with V-twin Kohler 7000 series engine) with only 46 hours on it. Yes. 2 years old with very little previous usage. She looks brand new. For our mower, we bought/installed a HD Front Bumper (from Amazon), new oil filter/engine oil change, leveled its deck and bought/installed much wider Deck 4 x floating wheels (from Amazon). We also lowered the wider deck wheels to their next lower hole as well. All works great. I recommend to others...

    I have 1.5 hours on the engine. Mowed one time, about 1/2 acre, some hills. Plenty of speed and power. Nice machine and I thumb it up so far. Had it delivered as it was assembled and ready to roll. I want to add a mulch kit, side discharge has clipping blow everywhere.

    Nice machine last year when I got a new mower I debated between an XT1 and a Craftsman T7000. I have to say I like my T7000 pro series craftsman as I am more partial to husqvarna built products than MTD built products however this XT1 has the same engine as my T7000 craftsman 22 hp 7000 series Kohler twin my engine so far in 30 hours has been pretty reliable I have kept mine started regular throughout the winter though as well I like my mower but, I would of went with this if I couldn't of had the craftsman

    We just purchase a NEW 46" cut & it has the place on the front of the deck like yours that appears to be a dent? There were several others sitting near it & none had that place on them? The Big Box Store discounted it for $675 Off of the price including the difference with tax because they thought it was damaged somehow. The blades do not hit the deck & it runs normally as well. Do you have any idea why some have the indentation & others do not It was manufactured in July 2023 if that makes any difference? It will be delivered on Monday after for some reason it was not delivered on Thursday as it was originally scheduled.

    How does the cruise control work? I'm buying one at Home Depot, and they don't seem to know. They say it's with the key, but there is no position like that. There's no mention of it in the manual that comes with it, though in al their advertising and brochures, they say it comes with cruise control. Can anyone help?

      As you press the forward pedal down push down on the parking brake lever and it will engage, only seems to be about 1/2 speed though so with the forward pedal about 1/2 way down is the only position I've found that the "Cruise Control" will lock in.

    what percent incline can it handle?

    • @markw3598
      @markw3598 6 лет назад +1

      Mine is rated for "Hilly/Steep", I KNOW some of my inclines are at least 15 degrees. Handles them, as long as you go up and down, NOT side hill. Good advice is, if the mower will go up the hill backwards, it will handle it forwards. Use that as a test when in doubt.

  • @Knxruss
    @Knxruss 6 лет назад +1

    Height adjustment is a little low for my liking. Max height is 4 and nothing higher on this unit. So for keeping taller grass its not a good fit. Just FYI. I learned the hard way.

    This is a very sturdy and well built mower. I thought I wouldn't like the foot operated speed control but after one use ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTZSPVwJFBv2hORqhQamtxi-tAe5K2EtC , I can't believe I ever had one without it. It drives like a car with an automatic transmission. Easy to adjust mowing speed according to grass depth/thickness. I have yet to get used to the long throw of the blade engagement lever but kind of get why it is that way. It allows you to hold mowing for short moments if you need. The engine seems very substantial and the frame has very little flex, both adding up to an impressive package. All my previous tractors were 18 to21 hp with 42in decks. This one is 23/46. I mow about 1.5 acres about every 5 days here in Alaska and that mowing time has been reduced by about 20%, partly due to the very tight turning radius. No loop arounds lol. Hour meter, cruise control, reverse mowing capability,deck cleanout and easy assembly all add up to a very well thought out tractor.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 8 лет назад +2

      Well if they are set properly they work LOL, most often you'll find people never adjust them at all. Proper tire inflation, deck leveling also plays a huge role in the proper cutting height of the deck. These new mowers regardless of what brand you buy have horrible deck mounting systems as a result the deck doesn't follow the contours of the area being mowed and you end up with scalping problems quite frequently.

    • @markw3598
      @markw3598 6 лет назад +2

      1. He has the blade WAY to low, usually you mow to a height of 2 1/2 inches, (depending on the kind of grass you have) He looks like he has it set about 1" to 1 1/2". And 2. William is right, those guide wheels are not even close to touching the ground. Surprising considering that the Cub Cadet guy is RIGHT THERE!!

  • @streak2645

    I wish they made this with manual transmission. I hate the hydro for 3 reasons. 1: They don't seem to climb hills very well. My neighbor has a hill and every hydro I have tried (no matter HP) it will not climb the hill. My manual craftsman will climb it like it is flat. Same tires and all. 2: Speed, Slow mower, put cruise on and the speed drops even when pressing the peddle hard. My manual craftsman 24hp will run circles around my neighbors 24hp hydro. 3: I hate the peddle arrangement, it totally sucks.
    Manual I only have 1 peddle. I am quick with the shifter, I even change gears (not to reverse) without even touching the peddle.
    So for me, hydro totally sucks. It seems to be getting harder to find the manual transmission on a rider. I ask a lot of people how they like the hydo and very few said they like it. Most say they hate the dam thing.
    Sorry for the long post but I needed to get this out there.
    Thanks for the vid.

      @smoberdeen 3 года назад

      I think you're supposed to push the throttle as far forward as it will go to choke it. If that doesn't work; one owner commented and said to go to the turtle setting while holding the clutch/brake and his started. I like my 15 year old model LT50 but the deck has finally wore out and it may be better to replace the entire mower instead of replacing the deck for $700+.
