- Finally got out to do some Kayak Fishing and placed 3rd place for the heaviest redfish in The 956 Kayak Anglers Fishing Tournament in Port Mansfield! In addition to catching the 3rd place redfish and I was also able to LIMIT OUT on trout! The lure of the day was the good ol tried and true Gulp Jerk Shad rigged up on a weedless 1/8 ounce swimbait hook! The 2019 Hobie Outback Continues to be An Amazing Kayak that checks off all the boxes. Had the opportunity to with Carlos Lopez of Bass Brotherz Fishing! Be sure to check out his youtube channel he has some awesome content! Hopefully we can get together on his home turf...freshwater and hook up some monster bass! Heres the link to his channel

Awesome day on the water. Grats on 3rd! 🎉🎉
Thanks! It was a great day!
I ,like the idea of the float on your rod handle. never seen anyone else do it.
Ya I tried the leash thing on the kayak but it really gets in the way. These work well. Definitely depends on the weight of the reel/rod but it's nice simple insurance. I got these online at Austin canoe and kayak (ack)
Congrats on 3rd I love fishing port Mansfield definitely want to take the hobie out there!
Thanks for watching! You definitely should! It helps to have a Hobie in port mansfield cause it really extends your range!

Ya would've changed the trip for sure but I was still a great day....dude I didn't include all the dinks we caught....facil another 15 min of content haha. I'm gonna do something dumb with that footage
R u from the RGV?
Yes sir! Originally from Zapata but I now call Mcallen home
For the stringer, I use a small 3 inch piece of PVC and drilled 3 holes and run the stringer in a z. For quick in and out. With a carabiner for quick release just in case
Heading to your channel to check it out👍. My stringer actually got caught in my rudder cause I had it too long. That sounds like a good set up
@@MesquiteOutdoors message me on FB, Marcos Gutierrez and I'll send you a pic of it
