Typhoon Bebinca, the 13th typhoon of the year, made landfall on the coast of Lingang New Town in Pudong, Shanghai, at 7:30 am on September 16. It hit with maximum winds of up to 42 meters per second, reaching a powerful level 14 intensity. The central pressure dropped to 955 hectopascals, marking it as the strongest typhoon to strike Shanghai since the founding of the People's Republic of China. After making landfall, the typhoon moved northwest, gradually slowing to 40 meters per second. Bebinca could become the strongest typhoon to hit Shanghai since 1949.

The survival instinct of some of these people is abysmal. Trees are snapping, roofs are flying and the walls are coming down and they are outside travelling and filming.
The people on the boats and that archway in the beginning blew my mind.
@JeffBilkins it's because employers look for any excuse to fine, fire or not pay their employees.
It's because in China, you don't just have survival instinct for the outside world, you also have it for your incredibly dangerous job where you're likely spending a lot more time than the outside world. Ergo, these people learn how to survive their jobs and not nature.
Darwinism at its finest
the "if he dies, he dies" approach,
It is incredible that every time I see videos of Typhoons in China there are always people on their bikes/scooters riding around and they also never secure their outdoor items or cover their windows.
They are not used to this kind of typhoon's intensity. By the time the typhoon comes to their turf the other country has weakened it already
Why are people outside walking or riding their scooters? That’s insane. Don’t people realize how dangerous that is. Keep your asses inside when you got a typhoon coming through. Don’t these people have any common sense?
Afaik, the CCP doesn't care if it's raining meteors and nukes, they still expect you to work.
I think they have to go to work or get fired. Survive a typhoon or lose your meal ticket?

I cannot believe they do not have hurricaine shutters like in FL. Espescially since they have so many typhoons Once a window breaks you are probably going to lose the roof due to pressure changes.
It's funny, I heard a report that Bebinca had winds up to 151 kph (93 mph) worst storm since 1949. All kinds of buildings and trees getting blown apart. Everything in shambles. But winds at 93 mph is a high category 1 hurricane, not quite a cat 2.
I lived in Ft Lauderdale for seven years and category 1 hurricanes barely made people take notice. As a matter of fact, that's usually when the surfers were happy because there would be good waves and they could get out with their boards, but they didn't consider the storm to be dangerous.

Don't blame the Typhoon, blame yourselves for not being prepared. People feel best with new cars, scooters, tvs, gadgets and furniture but all don't sustain life. Have a dedicated storage area stuffed with canned and dried foods, stacks of drinking water and personal meds. Disinfectant and washing products. Solar power chargers and plenty power banks. Butane stoves and at least 1 calor gas tank if permitted. Sealable bags for disposing waste. Warm clothing, lightweight quick drying clothing. Plenty camping basics like strong string, tarp and a pop up tent.
I live in Thailand and now the floods are severe. I have escaped from damage but all of my stored gear is there for any incident. People living on roofs with no shelter no spare clothes, no means to cooking, nothing to cook yet all knew the Typhoon Yagri was coming just like this one. People have days if not weeks to prepare sandbags.
One final point noted. Use garbage bins!!! The amount of garbage mainly plastics blocked bridges and the water diverted over the banks and flooded towns and cities, land and crops all because people are filth mongers.
The next storm snow.
In the Philippines it's a yearly event.
42 meters per second Is 93 MPH In English Terms. Which was around a Cat 2 When it hit landfall.

Just 2 weeks ago we saw Yagi hit Hainan, now Bebinca ... What the heck
When a typhoon or hurricane is classified as a Category 1 storm, it means it has sustained wind speeds of 74-95 mph (119-153 km/h). These storms can cause some damage to buildings, trees, and power lines, and may lead to power outages and minor flooding.
Typhoon Bebinca and Typhoon Yagi, both classified as Category 1, fall into this category. This classification indicates that while they are powerful and can cause significant disruptions, they are not as severe as higher-category storms.
Hurricanes are classified using the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, which categorizes them based on their sustained wind speeds. Here are the different categories:
Category 1:
Wind Speeds: 74-95 mph (119-153 km/h)
Damage: Some damage to buildings, trees, and power lines. Power outages may last a few days.
Category 2:
Wind Speeds: 96-110 mph (154-177 km/h)
Damage: Extensive damage to buildings and trees. Near-total power loss expected, with outages lasting several days to weeks.
Category 3 (Major Hurricane):
Wind Speeds: 111-129 mph (178-208 km/h)
Damage: Devastating damage. Major damage to buildings, many trees uprooted, and roads blocked. Power and water outages can last several days to weeks.
Category 4 (Major Hurricane):
Wind Speeds: 130-156 mph (209-251 km/h)
Damage: Catastrophic damage. Severe damage to buildings, most trees snapped or uprooted, and power poles downed. Power outages can last weeks to months.
Category 5 (Major Hurricane):
Wind Speeds: 157 mph or higher (252 km/h or higher)
Damage: Catastrophic damage. A high percentage of framed homes destroyed, with total roof failure and wall collapse. Most of the area will be uninhabitable for weeks to months123.
These categories help in understanding the potential impact and necessary precautions for each level of hurricane.
Pray for Shanghai 🙏
