Totally deserved. That scene where she jumped right at the spider as it try to devour her talking it through not to eat her because she has unfinished business with her controlling mom, I felt that. I'm moved, I've never cried from watching movies. A masterclass in acting!
Best part was when she rode that same spider into the sunset along with the entirety of its smaller-but-still-huge family members after confronting her mother and saying "I am going to be my OWN woman from now on and you'll learn to LOVE me like that!"
The acting is always great. The writing on this one stands out. Hilarious how you inflect when you remember the crew. And then the character has to prove that she cares about the crew and knows their names. And then immediately after is overly appreciative of the producers and calls them each by their full names. And the “guess I lost the bet” bit is terrific. The reaction is so on point but the situation is so ridiculous to have that reaction to. But that kinda doubles down the humor because people not only react like that to more serious matters but also to ones that are equally absurd.
My favorite moment from the movie is the "spiders spiders go away, spiders spiders just get the hell out of here man" monologue. Still brings me to tears!
