U can try La signora theme boss, it features a beautiful opera The shogun boss theme, especially phase 2 is just insanely good U can also take a look at childe boss theme. All phases are creatively different and unique in their unique way Basically, all genshin boss themes are just the best and the longest one For an extension, you can always try to hear combat music for each region I really appreciate your analysis, it adds a different understanding to music. Keep going
Around 8:20 you said you don't know what an instrument is, as a Chinese, I can tell you XD. That is called erhu, "二胡" in China, and it is one of the most popular traditional instruments in China. When I heard this part, I sense memory and heroic struggles. And usually in Chinese music, if you want to represent a sense of long and heavy history, Erhu is usually the best choice, like you can hear a similar instrument called Huqin"胡琴" (if I am not mistaken) when u explore around Chasm, similar vibes
The Erhu is also prominent in 'Rex Incognito' character theme... which due to the context of the Boss Battle and the relationship between the characters makes it a great storytelling connection through music imo ^^
Hey, i think it's actually a great idea to skip back to moments you want to analyze in more detail. This way we as viewers can learn more about insights real musician can provide. As players we enjoy the heck of the banger tracks but it's on subconscious level for the most part, so it's awesome when someone more skilled in these arts can shine some light on exactly why the particular sections are so effective.
Since you enjoyed rhythmic use of the orchestra so much, i can wholeheartedly recommend "Gilded Runner" and "Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie" from the Genshin OST, they're also absolutely brilliant pieces! Some other favourites from other games/movies i have in this aspect are also "Diablo 3 - Chains of Fate" and "Tron Legacy - Flynn Lives". Great video, i personally enjoy the use of skipping back and listening into a section more with explanations/focus on details!
I'm a french horn player- brass technique for fast notes is pretty simple! We can't stop and start our air that fast- it's pretty much impossible. However, we can use tonguing to keep tempo. With horn we use "tu-tu-tu" (for clearer articulations) or "du-du-du" (more marcato) by stopping the air with our tongue. For faster sections, we have to use double or triple tonguing, which is when you alternate stopping the air with your tongue and throat (try going "tu-ku-tu-ku", it feels slower at first but with time it's much faster than single tonguing) If that doesn't make sense, here's another way to explain it: we always keep pressure on our diaphragm to keep pushing air out of our lungs, but we can stop the air from entering our instrument using various techniques. Hope this helps!
A really good song to listen to is Swirls of Shamshir from the nation of Sumeru and arguably one of the best battle OST in Genshin (Also the instrument used is called the Erhu)
at 13:52, As another commenter said, they straight out invented a new genre. I mean, that part is drums, with a motive played by the electric guitar in sync with the ehru, , and another rythm guitar in the background, and then the drums that open wide... I mean, orchestral symphonic meets traditional chiniese meets punk rock meets metal, that's an insane mix of genres, and how tf does it sound so good? I mean, that's genius level music composing there. There's another Genshin song that I like more (Die Mittsommernacht Fantasie), but this one is a solid 2nd place.
So as far as brass articulations go you will put constant pressure with your lungs but you interrupt with a “te” syllable or for really short notes you can double tongue which is where you alternate “da” and “ga” syllables
Loved your reaction, keep them coming! Your enthusiasm is contagious! Genshin has so many incredible tracks with so much variety...can't wait to see more 😊.
Let's have Gilded Runner next! There's a time signature there that was derived by the fibonacci sequence (golden ratio) Then Duel in the Mist. because of the hidden trap beats.
Around 5:00 he's talking about the bass line in horn/trombone. In this case, they're triplet 8th notes. And all articulated with the tongue rather than puffs of air. It'd be weird to use air articulation instead of tongue and make it so much harder than it actually is. Granted, I'm a flutist, not a brass player, so I'm used to much faster articulations, but the concept still stands
Oh man, if you're this amazed, you are not going to be ready with the Genshin's "Gilded Runner" OST That track uses freaking Mathematics in its rhythm lmao XDDD
What song from the Genshin soundtrack do you want to hear next?

Childe's boss theme is one of my favorites besides scara's and would be amazing if you checked it out!
"The Duel in the Mist" Music Video with the native instruments
La Seniora Battle theme
And the live concerts
Don’t remember that part because we were all too busy running for our lives in this fight. 😂
That's probably exactly what happened lol
Zhongli and Noelle be like: _why are you running?_
Bro, it’s such a hard fight tooo
Just fought him for the first time. It was 30 min of us not doing a little of damage to each other 😂
Hahahahah
"Yes! Drums! I know that! That's what I play!" is honestly me whenever i recognize a cello part in a song lol
REAL REAL REAL

Great feedback, thank you! I’ll keep it in mind for the next video :)
@@Samizard Yes. Knowing the music already it's so educational to hear your analysis as we go. Fantastic. Subscribed.

Ooh yes definitely support "Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie"!! I simply can't get enough of it!
Die-Mittsomernacht Fantasie is so good
@@mistflower5945 I also agree! It's crazy how it was only there for a limited event. They didn't need to go that hard
Yes yes yes to fischl's domain theme OMG i couldn't believe they'd put such a banger in a limited time event
This instrument is called Erhu, it is a traditional Chinese musical instrument with a long history.
Liyue always uses alot of Erhu :D
Liyue truly the GOAT
@@SamizardYa misspelled Sumeru
:P
I bet as drummer you will love "The Duel in the Mist" theme from Inazuma ost. Btw there is an official music video with instruments.
Yes! I didn't like it at first but now i can't stop listening to it

Yes! I was looking for someone else saying this! It sounds difficult but it’s actually easier than it seems haha
OHHHHHHH omg i was picturing it as like, individual breaths and I literally couldn't imitate it

Swirls of Shamshir>Swirls of the stream

6:45 this phase kinda gives a similar vibe to Sephiroth's One Winged Angel, this is why this is my most favorite phase of Azhdaha's theme.
Yoooo you’re right!
8:22 it Er Hu.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erhu
Thank you!
I recommend listening to Burst into Flames since it uses a lot of drums as well as traditional instruments like what you hear from this theme
BTW the traditional chinese instrument in the middle of Rage beneath the mountains is called Huqin.
There’s an erhu too
Loved your reaction, keep them coming! Your enthusiasm is contagious! Genshin has so many incredible tracks with so much variety...can't wait to see more 😊.
This theme in SO satisfying to my ears
Let's have Gilded Runner next! There's a time signature there that was derived by the fibonacci sequence (golden ratio)

As a drummer I think you would like the El Seniora Boss Battle music best... Drummer dream to play music... Its an EPIC
We'll definitely be checking that one out soon!
6:43 "next phase, wo- DAYUM" 😂😂😂😂😂
The instrument is an Erhu
love your review and reaction! this is for sure an all time best banger boss ost for the game.
Signora next? Damn these boss themes really make me want to learn drums.
This analysis and breakdown is awesome!
This reminds me of an army going to war against a huge beast!, the horns as warning signs

Im really enjoying these videos. Im not drummer but man i love good drum sounds in songs.
Please do All Parts, La Signora Theme boss. Love your reactions!

You know a boss theme will be an absolute groove if it got latin-sounding lyrics
Yo solo espero esta épica canción cuando Morax aparezca en su batalla final contra Celestia y la rebelion de los arcontes
What about La Signora's battle theme?
La signora battle theme next time.. 🙏
WOO.
Gilded Runner pretty please
There's a rock version.
that is definitely something triple beat, or 6? rather than 8..
