True. The fact that Dragon Communion has access to all elements(albeit lightning and holy), physical damage, unique debuffs(Greyoll's Roar) and two status effecting breaths really make Dragon Communion the most dependable and versatile class of spells. I hope we see, even more unique Dragon communion Incantations in the DLC and maybe some more Dragon enemies or even a Dragon NPC like DS1 Dragon covenant leader. :)
@@strannyi_chelovek I guess? But it's not *that* much lightning damage and it technically is not considered a Dragon Communion or Dragon Cult incantation - the incantation is not buffed by the Dragon seals.

It baffles me that certain spells like Founding Rain of Stars and Elden Stars require multiple spell slots while I’m pretty sure all of the dragon communion incants except placidusax ruin or greyoll roar only cost 1 slot, meanwhile they have leagues more utility, range, and damage output
Ancient death rancor, roiling magma, oracle bubble and some others you mentioned are better than you give them credit for because you can use them to ambush enemies and annihilate them in the first seconds of an encounter. And you can ambush quite a lot of bosses as well - more than you think if you use assassin's gambit or hidden body. Roiling magma in particular is great for groups of mobs because it attracts enemies' attention when it lands, they all gather around and get blasted.
Faith/Arcane dragon communion builds are comically powerful. Did a play through using dragon maw 80% of the time, so it did eventually get boring. I would only ever die from getting too cocky, and no longer really trying
And, as a bonus to the #1 spot, you get the sacred seal that boosts those very same incantations RIGHT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME, right after the tutorial, from an imp-statue gate. Granted, you have to dodge a chariot and all that wonderful stuff, but it's there.
Also the night sorceries as a whole are excellent in PvP and invasions. The mist is notorious for anti-camping or taking ladders hostage. And one guy i fought turned the guts greatsword invisible in the arena abd it completely messed up my spacing and rolls.
I remember accidentally finding out that Malenia doesn’t even try to dodge night comet and she became laughable if you have that spell. It’s all you need to destroy her without even taking damage, totally nuts.
Intelligence builds are effective immediately. Glintstone pebble only runs are actually really easy XD but anything it isn't good at there are other spells for and you don't need to be high level for.
The Rot Breath Dragon incantation has helped me cheese several bosses, including the Godskin Apostle under the Divine Tower in Caelid. Just proc rot and then run around, trying to stay as far from the boss as u can while the rot ticks away at their health
Gurranq's Beast Claw is basically the same damage in my experience, but it's better on groups and has the hitbox at point blank range that can keep it from being interrupted. It's probably better in PvP too.
I like Loretta's Great Bow, it is a solid spell at range. Loretta's Mastery needs a partial rework to make it function better. I know you should be on Torrent to get the most of the spell but there are too many places where you can't ride and it sucks when one of the shots always eats the floor. If it leveled the bow and shot them horizontally when not mounted it would be a good spell. I do think Bloodboon is underrated but solid. I think the firing when locked-in really needs to have been set a little higher because it falls off too short even when the target is in range, had too many times where it ate the floor when it could have hit the target. I would also like to see it the be able to change direction when chain casting, it normally goes right-to-left but feels like it could go left-to-right. Change directions when chain casting feel like something it should be able to do in order to blanket an area, that actually might make to too powerful. There are some spell that I think should change the requirements or grouped differently. Brairs should be changed to scale with Arcane and Faith while being added to the Blood Incantations along with a Blood Finger Seal to boost them. Claymen Sorceries need to be changed to have just Int requirement. I honestly blows my mind that Brairs isn't Arcane while Bubbles are.

I wouldn't call this video useless because of people like me. I don't care about min/max. I play my way and personally, I prefer to keep spells in general terms so a list like this will give me the best spell type, generally. At least that's what I'm hoping. I paused to type this when you said the video is useless.
Also the Loretta ones are for long range attacks so they are for certain types of fights also the dark moon ice debuff also increases enemy incoming damage and is boosted by Ranni ice witch hat. Still niche
Rock Sling really is great. I first tried a lot of bosses by just yeeting a summon at them (currently Engwall at like, +2 because I'm too lazy to go into catacombs) and Rock Slinging them to death. And I'm a new player. Poor Godrick went down on my second try and I forgot to buff. Really need to remember that Golden Vow and the physick flask exist...
23:55 Unseen Form stacks with gambit assassin AOW. You can rush most areas of the game using them both. You can even use them with some bosses. The AOW is pretty good by itself, but it's much better with that invisible magic. Come on people with mage builds, don't sleep on this!
Golden Order is definitely low-tier, but I don't think it should be quite as low as it is. Law of Regression can work in PvE against some buffs applied by enemies and some bosses. It can also remove status effects from yourself (any and all). Int-based weapons that can be buffed will benefit from Order's Blade and the buff itself is still strong against Those Who Live in Death. Litany works well against Deathrite Birds, but yeah there isn't much use here outside of instantly killing a group of skeletons. Order Healing and Causality are absolutely trash though... Even in situations where they're supposed to be useful, they are low-tier even for that. Despite the Holy damage, I think it should be at least #22. It has good range and ok versatility + utility, but it practically requires high level to be good.
Erdtree incantation deals the greatest damage, it is not even a competition. Can comet azur deal 1 million damage in one cast? Because erdtree incantation can through black blade - if the enemy has one trillion hp. And against radagon’s amber egg’s golden barrier given to rennala (which is probably itself an erdtree incant, if not golden order or two finger incant), whic renders occupier otherwise invulnerable, destined death still hurts. Rotten breath can also hurt, but only if the occupier isnt immune, which is not the case with the barrier’s original owner, ie. elden beast. So where no other damage can hurt at all, erdtree incantation black blade can. These two facts (one million damage and hurting the amber egg barrier occupier) make erdtree incantation the best in terms of dealing damage.
at the beginning of this video i said in my head, "dragon communion #1", and god damn it i was right dragon communion is completely busted, lol. so good.
God it hurts me so much to see death sorceries so low but they just so bad. Genuinely what the fuck was from thinking putting tibia's summons in the game? The AoW version is decent but as a spell it is like comically bad like are they playing aprank on hexers from DS2 trying to relive the affinity days
Overall this is great, my only significant qualm is that I think you massively underrate Pest Threads. That spell is straight-up insane, it's very decent damage relative to its low FP cost even against smaller enemies, is very fast & has super short recovery time, has really good tracking such that even bosses that dodge projectiles will probably get hit by a few bolts at least, and against bosses with large hitboxes (especially Dragons) it absolutely shreds them. Not to mention the fact that it's the best spell in the game for fighting Elden Beast, since it does physical damage. itshitbox is enormous & the spell comes out really fast so it's low-commitment. They definitely aren't the best spells in the game, but given that Pest Threads basically does what most of the Bestial incantations do, but better, I'd personally bump the Rot incantations up at least a couple spots.
Agreed. Pest Threads, Poison Mist, and Scarlet Aeonia are quite nice as a low level helper or anywhere in game - almost everything in the game can be afflicted by Scarlet Rot or Poison and like you said, the physical damage provided by Pest Threads is nutty compared to Bestial Incantations. In my opinion, Servants of Rot are easily in the top 5 or *at least* top 10.
I completely disagree. I did an entire playthrough with this spell and it performs terribly against small enemies. Long animation, no stagger, can’t charge, can’t walk while casting. For 19 FP I would much rather have Flame Fall Upon Them or Lightning Spear as they are much more consistent. As I mentioned in the video they’re only good against large bosses and Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike does it way better
@@youwy Good points all around! I do have pest threads on a level 50 and 60, but I do find myself using Lightning Spear over Pest Threads quite often. So, I agree with your assessment. I find it really only useful against large bodies enemies, but like you mentioned ADLS is king against large bodied enemies and this is very true! Dragon Cult reigns as my favourite incantation school, with dragon communion in 2nd :) awesome list btw! I hope my first comment did not come off as harsh in anyway, keep up the amazing content, my dude! 🙂
I never gonna understand why in souls games aka(fromsoft) most of the spells are so bad or inconsistent makes a lot of spells useless which is sad cuz we have less variety to use and actually be worth Does anyone know why this happens?? Most of the phyro inct in dark souls 3 were really good nice visuals animation but in elden ring they suck unless u have 99 in that stat We need more variety at low levels or mid levels like in DS
I don't understand why you put death and golden order under briar spells? As the damage difference demonstrated on the omen guy is very large (in favor of the first two spell types not briar).
Pest threads is better than decent, it might be slightly worse than ADLS but even if it’s situational, it trivialises fire giant, Elden beast and placidusax, 3 bosses that annoy the fuck out of me so it get a good rating for me
24:56 the fire Munks and giants get there magic from the same place with the same sigil. Really does not make think they’re a different spell class. Prove me wrong.
I very much love Golden Order Fundamentalism in lore and visual presentation, but unfortunately I wholeheartedly agree with its placement in this list. Faith/Int builds only get great in the highest levels, 180+, before that you’re really only scraping by.
Youwy has gone on record several times saying that the Glintstone Kris & Glintstone Dart skill are super underrated & one of the best weapon skills in the game, so yeah
Hey Youwy, I love your content. Between you and Chrighht, youre both always on the money. However, youre wrong here. Death sorceries can break the game wide open, you’re just not building your character correctly for 150.
I disagree with the spell and incantation types that are just spammy. Catch flame and that sword one is way too spammy. I would hate to play through elden ring spamming catch flame as my main dmg. I agree the dragon and lightning incantations are the best tho
Idk man. Primeval sorcery is the strongest by far. In a pure sorcery build it wrecks. The moon sorceries are also very very good. Especialy with the "decrease enemy magic resistance"
I do love your videos but youre off on some of these, nothing major, but just some small disagreements on some of your opinions. The biggest one I think is how you basically said "Flame, Cleanse Me" is essentially just mid. Overall, that might be true, like if you count the late-to-end game too; That said, for early-mid game, Im being serious when I say that spell has carried me through portions of Caelid entirely on its own. Its a spell that cures poison/rot AND clears buildup, which automatically makes it useful, but to add to its upsides, its got next to no requirements and can be obtained at essentially the start of the game. So for someone on a low level char trying to push through some parts of caelid in the very early game to get stuff like gold scarab or farm the cleanrot gear, its invaluable. Another one is Roiling magma, black flame ritual, and the small oracle bubbles. All of those can be used to set up traps on the fly to chip away at big enemies or completely erase small ones. They can be particularly good with gravity magic like Gravity Well and Gravitas or the ash on Radahn's swords, and force-related spells like noble presence and rejection.
Youwy challenge: Drink everytime 1. Youwy says doodoo trash 2. Youwy gets super mad and complains 3. Youwy says something is trash( not when he says doodoo though)
Wanna know what's funny? That until now, not ONE PERSON liked or responded to your comment lmao. Cant you see that youwy and no one else pays attention to you? Look at these letters and please do it. The letters are K Y
Finally did a Dragon communion incantations playthrough few days ago, and they are literally insane! The rot ones , doesn't matter if you get the rot or not, bosses will melt either way. And Smarag's Glintstone breath, jesus crist! It's like you say, they are ALL great. I used dragonmaw a bit late cause chose dragonclaw first but when I first tried it I was like " ok that does 3K damage as well" 🤣 .
You kind of sleep on triple ring of light. That thing is ridiculous especially in pvp. It is so spammable and each ring has very big radius, on top of that they comeback after a while and catch your opponent that are dodging all of your other BS spells like Rykard rancour, founding of ruins, gelmir fury, etc. It is just insane how abusive it is in pvp. Also feel bad that Adula moonblade got nerfed. It was like halves the damage. Ambush shard is one of my favorite in pvp because it can hit people while I am behind cover or while they are hiding behind cover. As long as the lock on still on, the projectile will aim at them even without line of sight. It is so good for cheap and surprise damage or punishing healing.
When you have the death prince staff with Rancor - I had great success as the with Ancient Rancor. Added to that it also stuns the mob. I destroyed the Black knife Tiche boss with it. I used Dragon against Astel...not bad
I feel like crystal torrent is better than comet azur in a lot of scenarios due to the fact that lots of bosses having the ability to dodge comet azur while crystal torrent being less affected by bosses dodging and also being much cheaper cost only one spell slot compared to comets 3. Also crystal torrent is much cheaper in fp cost but that doesn't mean to much because your probably going to be using the hidden tear with both anyways. They both are good in different ways I just feel like crystal torrent can be more useful in plenty of scenarios.
Im sorry, but na. Glintstone Spiral is the strongest spell in the game. The elden beast didnt get to move bro. Radagon didn't get to move, placadusax didn't get to move. No terra magica or magic scorpion either it just kills everything so fast.

Nah you all good bro. I like talking about the game so I appreciate the discourse
Remember the good old days when you could cancel the dragon communion spells' start up animations?
I never gonna understand why in souls games aka(fromsoft) most of the spells are so bad or inconsistent makes a lot of spells useless which is sad cuz we have less variety to use and actually be worth
Does anyone know why this happens??
Most of the phyro inct in dark souls 3 were really good nice visuals animation but in elden ring they suck unless u have 99 in that stat
We need more variety at low levels or mid levels like in DS
What is the armor you have on?
I don't understand why you put death and golden order under briar spells? As the damage difference demonstrated on the omen guy is very large (in favor of the first two spell types not briar).
Pest threads is better than decent, it might be slightly worse than ADLS but even if it’s situational, it trivialises fire giant, Elden beast and placidusax, 3 bosses that annoy the fuck out of me so it get a good rating for me
As rusty once said, it's the perfect giant killer spell
Vids like this makes you realize ive never actually played with incantations or spells at all.
Please fromsoft add more int/faith options in the dlc. I wanna roleplay golden order paladin without wanting to kms
Watching someone jump to dodge ground attacks is weird looking but makes sense.
No poison, sleep, or madness dragon communion
It's like Fromsoft threw away the baby with the bathwater when it came to the int+faith from Dark Souls 2
I would probably use aberrant sorceress more if I didn't feel like they bleed myself more than they do my target
Commenting to help with the algorithm
Can you rank the revamped spell classes from the elden ring convergence?
I firmly believe that is lightning spear had a spell version in ancient dragons lightning spear that it would be the best spell in the game.
What are your thoughts on the Kris dagger and Glintstone dart? Many don’t even know about this weapon. Only 7 f p per shot and the damage !!!!!
Youwy has gone on record several times saying that the Glintstone Kris & Glintstone Dart skill are super underrated & one of the best weapon skills in the game, so yeah
Not at all related, but what is that chestpiece you have on? (the one with the red shawl, and blue drape)
That looks like the Brave chest piece which is cut content
Shout out to Rotten Breath, couldn't had being the first run without it.
Hey Youwy, I love your content. Between you and Chrighht, youre both always on the money. However, youre wrong here. Death sorceries can break the game wide open, you’re just not building your character correctly for 150.
PVP Content pretty please. a lot of new spell hyper armor and poise dmg I'd love to see your take on.

I disagree with the spell and incantation types that are just spammy. Catch flame and that sword one is way too spammy. I would hate to play through elden ring spamming catch flame as my main dmg. I agree the dragon and lightning incantations are the best tho
agree, i rarely use this and carian slicer, also not very flavorful especially catch flame
Idk man. Primeval sorcery is the strongest by far. In a pure sorcery build it wrecks. The moon sorceries are also very very good. Especialy with the "decrease enemy magic resistance"
Now do a PVP list and watch as the list almost flips
Ouch... I was thinking in a golden order cleric build...maybe not a good idea
Death magic is bad UNTIL you get into the end game/NG+. It becomes insanely powerful with a proper build.
wish moon had more spells like moon shard, moon dust, moonlight, moon beam 🌙
You can stack a bunch of roiling magma and then aggro someone onto it
Cookbook tier list when?
I am always disappointed that the only stat incantation weapon buffs scale with is faith, just why
Youwy challenge: Drink everytime
1. Youwy says doodoo trash
2. Youwy gets super mad and complains
3. Youwy says something is trash( not when he says doodoo though)
Wanna know what's funny? That until now, not ONE PERSON liked or responded to your comment lmao. Cant you see that youwy and no one else pays attention to you? Look at these letters and please do it. The letters are
K
Y
@@ramrodbldm9876and no one is dumb enough to legitimately answer you. So go outside and touch grass
All of my builds slowly morph into quality builds.
Wish the rotten crystal staff made the crystal spells have rot buildup
"This tier list is useless" but you know damn well we going to eat it up and watch it anyways! :D
U should do similiar thing with dlc spells
shouts out to the death metal band Blood Incantation
Where are the mining spells?
oil pot with giantsflame take thee
the big strong damage
Prince of Death spear has A rank for faith and int. Also buffs death spells. Your using the wrong staff. Death spells slap with PoD staff.
I assume you’re talking about triple rings of light. I agree that it’s good for PVP but this is a PVE list so I ranked it accordingly
@@youwy Oh my bad. Yea that is the spell. It is so fun spamming it in pvp. I understand your ranking now
When you have the death prince staff with Rancor - I had great success as the with Ancient Rancor. Added to that it also stuns the mob. I destroyed the Black knife Tiche boss with it. I used Dragon against Astel...not bad
Most of these spells need good buffs!
You forgot the stone digger sorcery
They’re apart of glintstone sorceries
I feel like crystal torrent is better than comet azur in a lot of scenarios due to the fact that lots of bosses having the ability to dodge comet azur while crystal torrent being less affected by bosses dodging and also being much cheaper cost only one spell slot compared to comets 3. Also crystal torrent is much cheaper in fp cost but that doesn't mean to much because your probably going to be using the hidden tear with both anyways. They both are good in different ways I just feel like crystal torrent can be more useful in plenty of scenarios.
Really liked this video, but I couldn’t stop laughing because your accent makes it sound like you’re saying “boner flame” instead of “burn o flame”
Im sorry, but na. Glintstone Spiral is the strongest spell in the game. The elden beast didnt get to move bro. Radagon didn't get to move, placadusax didn't get to move. No terra magica or magic scorpion either it just kills everything so fast.
Death Lightning in PvP is insanely good, but kinda ugly 2 slots
