Mick Jagger was disappointed by the collaboration between himself and Michael Jackson. Michael felt the same way too. He accused Mick Jagger of singing off key. Jagger said it was a frustrating recording session. Mick jagger was disappointed in the production and the mix. Michael Jackson called Mick Jagger's talents questionable. The song hit #3 on the Billboard chart.
I read the comment about how Mick & Michael 🦜 talked SMACK about each other for different reasons! I personally think the collaboration turned out well because it's a catchy tune, but who really knows what happens behind the scenes! Ciao 🐬 dolphins!
This Entire Album was Amazing each brother sang lead on at least one song on this Album!!! There were great songs on the album…I believe this song was a “throw in” not a 100% but I think 🤔 I read that….
The track was originally to be sung by Jackson as a duet with Freddie Mercury for the "Thriller" Album, but Freddie wasn't able to get to LA to record it, and Mick and the Jackson Brothers ended up recording it with Michael for his "Victory" Album.
Rumor has It Freddie Mercury couldn't deal with Michael Jackson's llama in the studio and Michael Jackson couldn't deal with Freddy's cocaine in the studio.😂😂😂
I loved this song as a kid. Hearing it now? Well, it clear Michael did the heavy lifting vocally, and the lyrics sounded like a first draft. The demo of Michael singing this song with Freddie Mercury is much better, imo.
You're right Angela, it was a weird pairing, and it sounded weird to me. In fact, I don't remember ever hearing this song. I probably did back in the day, but to me it's forgettable...I mean, the lyrics are juvenile at best. I loved your reaction to it though.
It’s definitely a weaker song. The peak of The Jackson’s is from their First album “The Jacksons” to “Goin’ Places”, “Destiny” then “Triumph”. Don’t let this one get you down, it’s off of an overall average album. Victory. I suggest diving into their other albums. You will enjoy them 100 times more. There are still a couple of good tracks on Victory like “Torture” and “Be Not Always”.
Unfortunately, it's a very lame song. It's like a tape loop, repetitive, going nowhere. It's a cool riff. It could have turned into a great Jam if it was done the right way. I mean, the pairing of the two legends sounded like a great idea, but the song didn't quite live up to the hype.
Not the best from either artist... simple lyrics with no substance... it definitely was a pre-cursor for later songs with Rock origins from Micheal. Not even a decent bridge in the tune. Just poopy. LOL
Angela, I have but one thing to say: "Look at me! Look at me!" 👀
Never heard this before.
The original collaboration was MJ and Freddie Mercury.

Where did you hear this?
That is old news from when it first came out back in the 1980's. You can google it and the story will pop up too. @@Snyper1405

I like share songs that most people probably never heard before they may find interesting.
Yeah, no doubt they were having fun! I don't remember this getting a lot of airplay back then.
No it was very frustrating for both of them. They were not happy at all. It ruined their friendship.
@@grabzndealz8213 Wow! Didn't know that. Thanks for the info!
You are very welcome. I have been a Rolling Stones fan since age 11.@@miltonslocum8957
Michael Jackson made Mick Jagger do 2-4 hours of vocal harmonics, and then the recorded the song in less then 2 hours@@miltonslocum8957
There's a reason for that 😂

Out of the 3 jacksons albums. Destiny, triumph, and victory. Victory was by far the worst ever!!!
This seemed an unlikely combination, but they came up with a great song, and something quite different and rocky for the Jacksons-Colin Ward
It was quite a disappointment. And I'm a huge MJ fan 😒
I can understand that, its all down to taste.@@Snyper1405
Also check out the Live Aid version of this song with Mick and Tina Turner.
I barely remember this song. And now I know why

Mercury oui, mais pas pour thriller !
Pour victory.
You are SPOT ON!!! The only cool thing is that these 2 music legends got together 😂😂😂

Sorry you didn't like it. This song was the bomb
😂😂😂

Michael never should have done the victory album with his brothers. The worst album he ever did with them ☹️
just being honest! it was not even ok! i never at one time thought about buying it! i think it right! outright sucked!
Nice try😂

Michael made a mistake collaborating with Jagger. And even worse, doing the entire album with his brothers
