47704, in Scotrail livery, was a Parcels sector machine by this time, hence its appearance at Tonbridge. In fact, it did gain RES livery, but then went on loan to NSE until the 159s arrived, when it was returned to Parcels.

A really excellent compilation - thanks very much for posting.
Very useful for us modellers of the BR era. Cheers. Vivian

Excellent memories there! This was a friday, i was there the following tuesday on 13th Nov to record the new ARC 59102, a loco that a certain lady would be phoning me up from years into the future lol. . . I have calculated by as much info as i can obtain, i rekon the class 59's were the most driven by ladies diesel loco type on earth, due to 2 of them driving just the 15 loco's for years and years.
Meanwhile, i never did catch 1 of the scotrail liveried 47's on the SR during their parcels allocation, looks like i just missed 704 by days, typical lol. Thats ex GWR green 47628 in Mainline livery stabled and possibly 47010 on the High Brooms oil there was still running around the following tues, much to my delight :)
Weird to think i would be bringing my loco-driving girlfriend to this very bridge to spot decades later, i've been spotting there since 1983! Thanks for a great vid.

I can't remember Stuu , it was a long time ago, but looking at the film again they certainly look like mgr wagons.
