Trackside UK
Добавлен 19 июн 2013
Hi, the brand name for my channel(s) is Trackside UK and Trackside Europe.
I started filming with a large handheld camcorder back in the late 80's and all through the 90's before catching up with
the latest technology and investing in a smaller camcorder and tripod in the 21st century. Since 2011 i also started to
venture to Europe and have since continued to film both there and in the UK. Ofcoarse the covid pandemic has restricted
my options a little bit but it has allowed me the time to start the process of uploading my films for your enjoyment.

On arrival at Milford Junction it was clear there was a track problem on the crossover, meaning freight restricted to 5 mph untill clear of the problem. It didn't stop me filming the mainly mgr services that were synonymous with this part of Yorkshire. Once evening arrived i finished the day at Doncaster mainly catching the 47 hauled postals. Be sure to take note of the class 141 Pacer in the p...

It's funny you upload this one Colin. I'm going there tomorrow morning to do a location inspection at the Cemex Plant. How I wish it was these days with all the old traction
Although i didn't catch them on this particular video Ben, back in those days it was a pair of Buxton based 37's working to that terminal. Thanks for watching mate, take care tomorrow and all the best, Colin.
Very nice archive video Colin, thumbs up 👍 Greetings from Germany.Janusch 🙋♂:)
That's very kind off you Janusch. Thank you for watching and greetings from the UK 👍 ,Colin.
Well another super look back at what we would see when spotting in these exciting times, cheers Colin for this upload.
My pleasure Mike and like yourself i have fond memories of those days. Appreciate the kind comments mate, all the best and take care, Colin.
Very nice catch Colin, look forward to the full chabang when you can.
Cheers Mike 👍
Its such amazing how Bristol has changed and its not for the better, I used to bunk the depot around the late 70s early 80s and the depot was always full of locos.
You did well getting round the depot then Mike, i tried it twice and got slung out both times 😆Glad you enjoyed it mate, thanks for watching and have a great week. All the best, Colin.
Well one to revisit soon with the oxford line to re open ! those pair 86's given tones was great moment ! great to see all this, tom,s
Thanks for the positive comments Tom, i'm glad you enjoyed the video. All the best and take care, Colin.
Another cracking episode Colin , a great variety of traction and freights there. In some ways Bletchley hasent changed an awful lot really. Good to see the 86/90 speeding and 😂😂😂you left the best till almost last, great combo there two 31 and two 20's a rare working for sure. As ever really enjoyed, cheers Nick.
Thanks for the kind words Nick and i'm glad you enjoyed it. If we've said it once we've said it a thousand times " if only we had a time machine ". All the best Nick and take care, Colin.
Dead right if only.
Nice video Colin :)
Thank you Simon 👍
Nice teaser Colin. I look forward to the full video
Cheers Ben 👍
Excellent video at Purfleet Colin. 37425 was a nice bonus to catch, plus the tesco train was a bit short. What do you think?
Thanks Arnold, i had to think back to how long ago this video was 😊 Glad you enjoyed it. Have a good week and take care, Colin.
What an incredible video Colin. The footage you have captured here is first class. So much character and loco action. The hoover on the intermodal being the highlight for me
Cheers Ben. That hoover on the containers was so unexpected as well as i was just passing through. Thanks for watcching mate and have a great week, Colin.
Very nice video Colin, 👌👍 Greetings from Germany.Janusch 🙋♂:)
Thank you Janusch and greetings from the UK 👍
Well if this is anything to go by your next clip will be well worth the wait Colin! What were the numbers by the way? A great shot and look forward to more from you. I caught a sextet of Freightliner 66/90's earlier, Trafford Park FLT to Basford Hall always nice to catch convoys.Have a great weekend, cheers Nick.
Morning Nick. The locos were 66031 ( rescue loco ) & 66432 ( failed ). The chaos caused resulted in me missing out on the 2x37's on the Capital Highlander railtour 🤐 Thanks for watching mate, the full video will be out in a couple of weeks. All the best, Colin.
Look forward Colin have a great day.
Very nice video ,greetings from Asturias
Thank you and greetings from the UK 👍
A good video Colin :)
Cheers Simon, thank you for watching 👍
Railfreight grey lovely, with or without red solebars Colin ,looked so attractive don't you think ? Action packed as always and much going on there.I enjoyed this but then i always do , thanks for sharing cheers Nick.
Thanks Nick and i'm glad you enjoyed this one. I remember when railfreight grey first came out with the large logo and i thought wow this is something different, but then when they added the red solebar i thought to myself the original plain grey was a bit bland. Still, it was nowhere near as bad as the darker departmental grey, that was horrid. As always Nick thank you for your comments mate and enjoy the rest of the week. Regards, Colin.
Great stuff.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Very nice video Colin ,thumbs up 🚂👌👍 Best regards from Germany.Janusch 🌝 🙋♂
Thank you Janusch. I am glad you enjoyed my video. Greetings from the UK, Colin.
Great to see the latest freight footage of the Scottish Scene Colin. Good to see the decent collection of units you have up there as well. Not to mention the HSTs 😁
Thanks for watching again Ben, it's much appreciated mate, as are the kind comments.Hope you and yours are all keeping well mate, best regards, Colin.
Another excellent video of your days out up your way Colin, lots of shed action with a solo 88 on 4S43, but the star of the show has to be 66743 which has made it way back up your way again after its summer season. Have a cracking week mate regards Mike.
Thanks for the kind comments Mike, i'm glad you enjoyed the video. 66746 is also back up here presently on the Fort Bill sleepers. If the weather improves this week i'll be back out again soon. All the best, Colin.
A most enjoyable session ip north Colin ,surprised no Colas workings but at least a Redshed for me of course haha.I thought 66779 was difficult to film with its dark green but 743 is far worse, barely see its branding or running number ! As always really enjoyed cheers Nick .
Thanks very much Nick and glad you enjoyed it mate.I have to agree with you Nick 66743/746 liveries are a nightmare to film and photograph at the best of times but when they're dirty it's a lot worse ( as is 779 ). At least the weather is beginning to improve up here now so hopefully out again this week. Hope you have a great week also Nick, take care, Colin.
Amazing !! Beatiuful video ,greetings 👍🙋♂️🚂
Thank you very much 👍
Great video Colin. You certainly wouldn't be able to get to the spots you did in this video anymore. The inside of the triangle at Syston is very overgrown. Thanks again for sharing Colin. The locos and liveries of this time was amazing 👏🏻 at least Leicester depot is still got character
Cheers Ben and you're right about the triangle at Syston, although i'd probably not be able to get within 100 yards of it these days with all the fencing. 47401 was Immingham depots pet Duff back then so i'm glad you enjoyed the footage of her even if it was brief. Your comments are much appreciated mate, regards, Colin.
Super good viewing Colin, its always good to see how good our railways were. I was near here yesterday and was going to do some filming at Syston station but ran out of time. Thanks very much for this upload regards Mike.
Well that's an amazing coinsidence Mike, i'm not sure there was even a station at Syston back then. Thanks for watching and your comments are always appreciated mate. Take care, regards, Colin.
Another great look back in time Colin , awesome traction on offer there Duffs Grids and two wonderful shots of 60053 and 41. Im particularly fond of the 60,s long may they live ! As always really enjoyed, cheers Nick.
Cheers Nick and congrats on being first past the post again 😊 One of the good things for me is when i look at an old video that i havn't watched for years and seeing locos i'd completely forgotten about, as was the case with 47401. Glad you enjoyed it Nick and hope you have a great week mate. Best regards, Colin.
Nice video! Hello, my new friend! I am your new subscriber Dmitrovchanin 750! I send greetings from Russia! Stay connected.
As someone born in August 1995, it's very interesting to see what the rail network looked like at the time. Glad I was around for a wee bit of BR!
Thank you so much for watching 👍
Superb video Colin. Such a great location for nice steady paced freight for the wagon spotters 😊
Thanks Ben. Yes the leisurely speed they take through Ely is a bonus for the wagon spotters mate. Hope you're taking care in this bad weather, all the best , Colin.
@colingarwood9971 not too bad in the East of England to be fair. I hope you are doing OK as I know Scotland got hit bad
OMG one off 800 Colin only just noticed! Huge congratulations to you and very well deserved, 1K in next to no time, very well done sir. You run a fantastic channel and deserves far more subs this.
Reached the magic 800 as i type this Nick, so thank you for bringing me luck 👍
😄👍
What Mike in La La land ?Never ! Interesting comment there Colin. Well another fantastic session there at Ely with great freight action .Good to see 085 and one of my favourites 207 not too common either. As always look forward to your next vid ,hmm i wonder where Cheers Nick.
Ha Ha thanks Nick. Mike was on a mission that day, starting at Nuneaton before heading to Ely. It turned into a very enjoyable day even if it was freezing, and i thought you'd like the Redshed footage 👍Thanks so much for watching and commenting mate. Take care in the stormy weather, regards, Colin.
You too Colin especially up North
Excellent video at Ely Colin. Couple of good crossovers there and two red sheds (for Nick). Unusual seeing 4S88 goes via the Fen Line and ECML. 18:03 How ironic I caught 557 at East Tilbury (but on different location), she was on 4L91 😂.
Thanks for watching Arnold and i'm glad you enjoyed the footage mate 👍 Stay safe in this stormy weather, regards, Colin.
Been waiting to watch your footage Colin, so that's all I'm saying for now. Ok Colin I've watched your account of our afternoon there and what I think is great is nothing looks the same as how filmed the workings. You did a lot better job than me when 66085 and 66732 sort of crossed and your last train to film looked fantastic. Was also good to see 66514 working 4S88 because I was in la-la land as I missed it at March. I'm behind with my uploads so it could be another week before I get round to sharing my footage, cheers Mike.
I'm glad our footage of the day is not going to be a carbon copy of each others Mike, that way it will be like watching 2 different videos.Enjoyed your company as always mate and look forward to the next time. Thanks for the kind comments Mike and keep safe if your out in the storm I won't be moving very far, regards, Colin.
I’m not due to film any trains till Monday Colin.
Great day out and some good trains inc last two 755's I think we were lucky with no wind els it would been frezzing like the northpole ...... henc biscets and coffe !
Thanks for the comments Tom, it's very much appreciated mate 👍
Excellent captures and coverage
Thank you James, glad you enjoyed the video. Best regards, Colin.
Great video 👍
Thank you Olix 👍
Superb video Colin. What a busy location for locos this was back in the day. I guess it still has its moments today but only a shadow of what it was back then. So much more freight back then and the passenger scene was more interesting. Once again thanks for sharing Colin. 👍🏻
Thanks for watching and commenting Ben. If only we had a time machine eh ! Take care mate and have a good week, Colin.
Quality days you got on film Colin, I never got into filming train until 1995, and then I wasn't any good at filming. Was great to see some parcel vans in the bay at DY. Just amazing how much traffic was about the time you was there. Cheers.
Thanks very much Mike, i really appreciate your kind comments mate. As for the filming side of things back then i wasn't all that good myself half the time 😄😄 When i dusted this one off i was more surprised by how many ecs workings i had seen on the day, even the 20's at the end. Best regards Mike, cheers, Colin.
Very nice video Colin 👍 Cool archival video footage from 1990 my Friend 🚂 Best regards from Germany.Janusch 🙋♂
Thank you Janusch, i'm glad you enjoyed my archive video. Have a great week and take care 👍,Colin.
That was excellent Colin, happy days they were indeed. Plenty of Duff action gorgeous shot of 37004 but it was the Choppers that stole the show for me ,bobbing in and out I almost got dizzy but nicely so !Yet again amzing footage and I really enjoyed. Have a great week cheers Nick.
Thanks Nick, glad you enjoyed it. What i used to love was the whistlling sound of the Choppers. Aahh happy days 🙂You too have a good week Nick, and i understand you're due to meet up with Mike so you should have a fantastic day when he's around 😃Best regards, Colin.
Colin yes I believe so and look forward to that, You take care cheers Nick.
Excellent.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍, Colin.
Nice little vid Colin. I was going to say short but sweet but Nick beat me to it 😂 Good to see some LTS freight action.
Thanks Ben. Never got as much on film as usual as i wasn't there long.
You had a great start Colin with the doubleheader from Brum, as I said to you last week the sun this time of the year is a blooming pain. The thing is its good to get out if only for a short session, cheers for the upload Mike.
Cheers Mike and thanks for watching. Yes that sun was a right pain but there was no escaping it at the time 😎Have a great week, regards, Colin.
Short but very sweet Colin , tasty workings there, nice to see 779 trouble is its a lousy colour to film, Maritine 1/005 looked very smart and then 66502 in nice Tangoed lively. As always great filming and i enjoyed, cheers Nick.
Cheers Nick. Yes not as long as my usual videos but i never had all that much time to do more this time.. 66005 looked very clean and as you so rightly point out, 779 always looks so dirty, even whenit isn't lol. Thanks as always for watching Nick, have a great week and take it easy, Colin.
Great stuff Colin. You didn't film a lot of freight but nice seeing double headed at Barking and 66779 on 4L98 👍. Take care, Arnold
Thanks so much for watching Arnold, it's very much appreciated mate. Have a great week and take care, Colin.
Great video ,greetings from Asturias 🙋♂️🚂
Thank you and greetings from the UK 👍
Great video Colin. Its good to see DB keeping the yard busy after losing the Mendip traffic. Credit to them as some thought they could not be as busy there. An overall great video. Its good to see its still busy.
Thank you Ben and i'm pleased you enjoyed the video. I'm also glad that DB have a strong presence at Acton as it's keeping my friend in a job 👍 Hope you're well mate ,all the best, Colin.
Well you certainly got what you went for. It was 47 heaven. Superb video Colin. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it mate 👍
Excellent video Colin🌞😃,thumbs up 👌👍 Best regards from Germany, Janusch 🙋♂:)
Thank you Janusch 👍I hope you are well and healthy, Colin.

Thanks Andy, it didn't occur to me to give you a call mate.
