Playing Anderson on the pk was a great idea, he kinda reminds me of Paul Byron in a way because of their straight speed going the other way if break up a pass or if they get after a loose puck quickly to skate the other way. The only difference is that Anderson is a bigger version of him.

Cause they have to answer to the Community.
If they think you're taking Bribes , you'll have to move
They'll shunn you in Public and talk shit about you until you leave.
The Hockey Moms are particularly aggressive with Ref's
Dad's threaten to kick their butt but never do cause it leads to a rink ban automatically.
Point is people hold the Ref's accountable
Whether its just a dumb call or they get caught cheating to help win Bets.
      The community deals with them

Worst call of the year was when Xhekaj got the only penalty when he was going to fight someone and another guy jumped Xhekaj and it was a 2 v 1.. The 3rd guy in got nothing. Only Xhekaj got a penalty....The league is against the Habs.

The refs simply don’t take Montreal or other ‘bottom dwelling’ teams seriously. The Habs organization has been in decline for decades - no elite players or coaching. The refs might treat Montreal differently if they had a Crosby or McDavid or other elite player. A NHL ref told me last year in the offseason that hockey players are “millionaire babies”, so there is a definite perspective refs bring onto the ice and who they feel more accountable to. There is simply no respect for the Habs who have allowed the franchise to decay.

I started watching the Montreal Canadians in the early 60s. Never thought they would fall from grace this far. The problem isn't what's on the people in the ivorepower. I've said it a million times I'll say it another million times Jeff Morrison is not a hockey man. He's a hot dog and beer. Salesman knows nothing about hockey. He's not his father. He's not his grandfather and he's not his great-grandfather. He didn't bring them this low. It took a lot of people, but he's the owner now and knows nothing about winning.

The refs are just crap I been saying it all year and last year. There is nobody critiquing the refs the way the most important objects in the game "the PLAYERS" are critiqued. The refs have a free pass to as good or as bad as they want nobody in the NHL brass seems to care. When players don't perform they are benched or sent to the minors when refs don't perform it's like good game keep it up we will reward you with a raise.
It is kind of dumb for anyone to think MSL would talk about the refs he would be fined because like I said nobody cares about the refs competence all they care about is saving face so if MSL says anything he and the team will be fined.

      Ive said it for years
Put them in Press Conferences , its 100% needed!
Ref's get to hide without accountability
Imagine if the NHLPA was allowed to pull Players from Media Events?
People need to believe in the League
If they cant it'll fall like the WHA to someone else.
You dont see it as often in Sports but it does happen that the long time standard begins to fall
Despite WWE's size it was just bought and pieced out as they shuttered the WWE network
They gave up long term independent income that was driving the WWE's net worth to record high's
To cash out to Cable companies and Netflix for Billions up front.
For this reason AEW with a Billion Dollar Private Owner is growing rapidly without selling out his vision.
His Goal is to get to where WWE network was with his company which becomes easier now that WWE is officially shuttering it. Jan/1/2025
Because of the decline in quality since WWE has tapped all its developing talent for the main roster and they're all just sitting idle not being used while NXT struggles.
Its 100% clear Vince isnt running it and they dont know how so they cashed out for as much as they could up front to buy them time while covering their investments.
Issue becomes Tony the AEW Owner from a Real Billion Dollar Family not a made up one like Vince's was until like 5 years ago , well Tony has noticed this.
Tony's Purged more Talent and sent toxic talent free knowing WWE would scoop them up
Now Tony who's been crushing WWE's Minor League Show with only USA/Canadian Ratings with no global deal to compete Directly
He changed that by signing with HBO Max i believe which has changed the game allowing AEW to compete with Global access to 61 Countries and 110 million viewers.
This would be the only other time i can think of a Sports Company who's the long stablished Standard falling to the new League.
I'd say Russian Super League to KHL but its the same league with the same teams run by the same people with a different name.
Closest Example i had in context was WWE and thats the level on which NHL is blowing it right now.

Finally ! Someone admits it that that’s what really is going on here. Thank you eric. Habs are tanking ! They are not fixing a thing because they want to finish bottom 5. If by chance laine comes in and they play better well they just play Sir Tanksalot. That’s Primeau. Mr GL. Garenteed Loss that’s exactly why they are keeping him. There ace in the hole. Or more like joker in the hole
That’s why the 16 teams not in playoffs should all go into the draft lottery. Not just bottom 5. Prevents all this manipulating the system crap and purposely tanking to rebuild.

David Savard is 8th in NHL Shots blocked this year might explain his "lack of mobility" . . .
Engles was on point everywhere but anyone who hates on Savard has a bias against him
    He's a 3.5m playing like a 3.5m player
Doesnt matter if he's the 2nd most experienced player, thats not his problem
He was a #4 D in CBJ, #6 D on TBL who paid a 1st round pick for him (Engles shoulda realized this making his comment)
Seriously Engles went out of his way to hate on a player, i never see that from him
But it feels more like when a bad parent builds up one kid cause the other ones always in crap
Tony goes at Matheson and Engles feels obligated to go at Savard

@@rgood1204 You are right...back in the old days before the salary cap, canadian teams had more money available for hiring free agents. Now with the salary cap, all those sunny, low stress, no state tax teams can easily attract players and families at a decent wage. The only way Montreal can ever win a cup again if the fans/media are patient enough to let this rebuild go on for a couple more years. Primeau being so bad is a blessing since he will help this team tank so they can draft high end players. New Jersey will likely win a cup in the next 3 to 5 years because they have been patient enough with their rebuild.

He also had the best plus minus rating on that horrible habs team of last year. Players I'd look to get rid of... Matheson; Newhook; Barron; Primeau; Divorak. A lot of this falls on Marty. Slafkovsky and our 1st line were deadly the last half of 2023. Instead of letting them build on that he demotes Slafkovsky and plugs in a plug- Dach. Slaf struggles and gets demoted further and his confidense turns to confusion. Arber is another one Marty rides into second guessing every move instead of playing his game. With all of our smallish players we need and Arber to keep the opposing team honest. As for Primeau ; they brought him up in that idiotic 3 goalie rotation just to sit on the bench which screwed his development. RHP shouldn't even be in the conversation. An AHL player at best but he gets the francophone free pass. They are young and are going to make mistakes and you can't forcefeed them hybrid plays like they are veterans. Officiating? Yes it sucks and that's on Bettman. And in the end...we are in a rebuild so as hard as it is; lets be patient !

NHL officiating is probably the worst in all professional sports. Owners are the main part of the problem . Betman follows instructions they get from the OWNERS. Hockey is failing in many cities. Pittsburgh will be on a respirator once Crosby and his buddies call it a night. They are grasping for air presently and will be sucking for air in 12-18 months. Was in Florida last month for 2 games . Booths games had 3-4000 no shows. The salary cap is the worst thing that ever happened to this amazing game. The league is levelling by the bottom. 16 teams are playing for .500 hockey. Time to move Betman to the pasture . Bring in some young blood.

Stop crying about the stupid refs. They didn't tell Matheson to throw the puck in the stands or for Dach to high stick and cut someone. They also didn't tell the Habs to get outshot 9-1 immediately by a team that played the day before while they were resting. The Habs suck not complicated.

Is Dach caracter an issue? May be, but he can turn around his mind if he wants to developp new habits. The same thinking applies to Patrick Laine. The new management has traded draft picks for skilled players. Newhook is another example.
