I have just finished this book this morning. It took me only 4 hours to finish it. I wasn't aware that the two versions were so different. Fortunately I read the UK version of the book. Glad I read this version of the book. My friend on the other hand did not love the tone of the book. She didn't want Sally to be portrayed in that manner. Btw, this is my very first Liz Nugent which I've read.
I was sorry to miss this chat in real time - my library does not respect my calendar! 😂 It was so interesting to hear about the different versions (my audiobook had all the things, apparently) and how she thought up these characters and stories. This book will continue to haunt me!
brilliant interview - loved the book & Sally, great character development! I love the openness during the interview from Liz - very refreshing! I hope the potential Netflix drama is based in Ireland v the other book cover country! thanks Laura😀
Wasn’t it the best?!? So glad you enjoyed it and yes to your Netflix comment!!! Thanks so much for tuning in and I hope you can find other chats from books you’ve read and join us live next time.
Glad you mentioned spoilers at 7.50 into the interview….because I have not yet read this book, although will be ordering it today for my Kindle……so had to stop listening as don’t want to know what happens 🤭🤭🤭😳😳 Great interview, tho’ and have subscribed to your channel 🤩🤩
I felt Mark was very sympathetic in his search for answers about his sister and impulse to have a relationship with his niece. He is still another victim of Connor Geary.
Awesome interview! The book is brilliant! I love the story being the name too!
Behind not being
Yay! You found another book! This may be a favorite interview because of all the jaw-dropping info! Absolutely brilliant is right!!!
I think it’s neat that the readers are the only ones that know the whole truth of all characters’ experiences.
@@angelapease8516 YES!
This needs to be a series on tv!!!
@@angelapease8516 I hope it comes to fruition because it would make for great TV!
Ooh, now I need to read the book again, I'd forgotten so much about it from when I read it when it was first released
@@freedafizzle so good right !?!

I’m so glad you liked it. I was shocked at the two versions too. I have 46 recorded chats uploaded. I hope you find more of what you’ve already read.
I liked this book so much but it was so sad. Netflix series, oh I hope so!!!!
@@faithshabit same! I can’t wait to see what more Liz can give us!!

Glad yours had all the things but really they need to get on your schedule! Lol. Agreed….I can’t stop thinking about this book or THIS AUTHOR CHAT!!!
I got the audio version with the letter from the Joliet Illinois library! The cover is also neither of the two shown here.
@@angelapease8516 could it be the paperback cover? Makes me curious.

So glad you got the spoiler warning in time! LMK what you think afterwards!!!
Will there be a follow-up? What happened to petter?
Great question. I wonder if the tv series will tell us?
Sally reminds me of Amelia Badelia character
@@angelapease8516 I hadn’t thought of that.
I much prefer the UK book cover!!
It’s so good!!!
There isn't a single sympathetic male character in this book.
Would love to hear how you interpret that.
@@lbtheloverofbooks well, I'm not sure, except that maybe the author isn't sympathetic towards men.
I can think of a few. Mark is a sympathetic character, so is Rangy. Udo is minor character but he's nice too.
