This type of omnivorous, all-encompassing diet is the best. I get plenty of protein, fiber, fish, fruits and vegetables as well as fermented foods. There's nothing that I don't eat.
So it's soluble fiber, right? Because as I understand that's the type of fiber that feeds the guts microbiome - the insoluble fiber is basically just bulk that passes though and is not digested.
Would be interesting to look at how environmental factors that play important roles in the gut microbiome could come into play, too, rather than just dietary contributions.

The RCT should be easy, just use the pure carnivore crowd, people like Dr. Baker who claim to eat zero fiber. Easy to find lots of volunteers for the zero fiber group. It is an interesting study. You should have a new debate group with Dr. Ken Berry, Dr Baker and Dr. Anthony Chaffee. Would be awesome.
