I saw this a few years ago and loved it! Lately I've been sharing my love of slashers with my Dad. Its great, now that I'm 40 and he just turned 66 its one way we can still bond. I've gone from The Thing to Friday the 13th to Halloween but Intruder was some of the most fun we had. All i had to say was "its made by the guys who did Evil Dead" and he was in. The kills are top notch and the scene with him strolling down the isle with a head and a sandwich has become a favorite horror moment for both of us.
I’m glad I didn’t look at the poster art before streaming it for the first time. The Blu-ray artwork from a while back with the split head in the bag is a better cover imo
I’ve worked in a grocery store for closing shifts and it can be scary. The power going out, weird people trying to get into the store, suspicious cars sitting in the parking lot, employees disappearing and trying to find them.
Not entirely forgotten. I've been in the grocery business since 1985. I've told a couple of generations of kids that this is a must watch. Not only for the baler scene, but also what the products looked like and how we handled them in the 80's. Big Fun. Also was part of the "Night Crew" for the first 14 years.

FYI: Holly Hunter got top billing in some copies of The Burning (1981) DVD. Yet she is mostly an only slightly visible extra who probably doesn't want people to know that this was her debut
Watched this hidden gem for the first time last year. We were watching a movie on tubi and this popped on almost immediately after. We didn’t see any poster so luckily no spoilers for us. Thanks tubi!
Omg this was one of the best slashers in the 80s it had Sam and Ted Raimi ... Bruce Campbell... And one the best Gruesome kills ...the way it was artistic truly underrated!!!!
This is one of my favourite Slashers. The kills are great and there's some of that Evil Dead esc Dark Humour due to various ties to particularly Evil Dead 2. Given it was released in 1989. It's definitely the last heartbeat of the 80s Slasher craze.
I adore this film. It really has got a giallo-esque preoccupation with style, and the band saw sequence looks like a "hold my beer" response to City of the Living Dead. This pairs well with Stagefright as late-80s giallo/slasher cross-fertilized horror flicks.
I'm waiting for you to do a vid on the 1991 underrated and ridiculously darkly cheezy fun flick...POPCORN!! It was in the limbo period of horror, just before Scream reinvigorated the genre. It's a personal favorite...I was lucky enough to see it when it came out...I worked at the local movie theater, so I got to see it over and over for weeks. It was a fantastically fun time! If you haven't seen it, please consider it! ❤️🎬👍👍

One of the best slashers I've seen, and the gore is fantastic, that band saw scene and the headcrush looks so gnarly on vhs. Unfortunately it kinda loses its charm on the blu ray.
The saw in question is a band saw not a jig saw and the ram in cardboard balers doesn't go down unless the gate is closed. Minor nitpick to nice kills I know but still bugged me any way. Cool slasher even with it's flaws.
I was really disappointed with this movie. I did enjoy the grocery store setting, the kills were the best and I might be the only one who didn't know who the killer was. That was a surprise. I really liked the messed up ending. The dislikes are: I didn't care about any characters that much, I agree with you about Craig and what they tried to do. The first set of cops were horrible as hell. Great review, pal.

The "sandwich and head" monologue and literal representation is foreshadowing of Raising Arizona! Great fun watch!

Nothing beats a fun 80’s slasher

Bruce had just a very small cameo at the end, also the other cop is Lawrence Bender.
